    Ropp, Moses, son of Joseph L. and Magdalena (Lichti) Ropp; born Jan. 18, 1885, in Mornington Twp., Ont.; died April 23, 1959, after surgery at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, Ont.; aged 74 y. 3 m. 5 d. He was married on Feb. 23, 1911, to Christina Ruby, who died in 1937. Surviving are 2 sons and 3 daughters (Nelson, Poole, Ont.; Vernal Milverton; Malinda-Mrs. William Potter, Toronto; Mae-Mrs. John Albrecht, Millbank; and Emmeline, at home), 15 grandchildren, one brother (Aaron, Linwood), and one sister (Nancy-Mrs. Peter Ropp, Poole). He was a retired farmer, and a member of the Poole A. M. Church, where funeral services were held April 26, in charge of Herbert Schultz and Moses H. Roth; interment in Poole Cemetery.

    MOSES ROPP

    A resident of Milverton for the past eighteen years. Moses Ropp passed away in St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, on Thursday, April 23, in his 75th year. He was a son of the late Joseph Ropp and Magdalena Lichty, and was born January 18, 1885, at Poole. On February 23, 1911, he married the former Christina Ruby, who predeceased him in 1937. Following their marriage they farmed north of Poole, on the farm now owned by his son Nelson, until 1941, when he moved to Milverton. While in Milverton he operated a trucking business until about two years ago. Mr. Ropp was a director of the Millbank Cheese and Butter Company until his death and was president of the company for 25 years, retiring from that post last February. He was a member of the Poole Amish Mennonite Church and was a trustee and also served as a secretary of the church for a number of years. Surviving are two sons, Nelson of Poole and Vernal of Milverton; three daughters, Mrs. William (Melinda) Potter, Toronto; Mrs. John (Mae) Albrecht, Millbank, and Miss Emmeline at home; one brother, Aaron, Linwood, and one sister, Mrs. Peter (Nancy) Ropp, of Poole. There are 15 grandchildren surviving. The remains rested at the family residence, where a private family service was held on Sunday afternoon at 1:45 p.m., followed by a funeral service at Poole Amish Mennonite Church at 2:30 p.m. Bishop Moses Roth of New Hamburg and Herbert Schultz of Poole, officiated. Interment followed in the Church cemetery. The pallbearers were: Joseph Ropp of Linwood, Ervin Ropp and Roy Poole of Poole, Clayton Sommers of Kitchener, Albert Ruby, Tavistock and William Bannerman, Milverton. Relatives and friends attended the funeral from Pigeon, Midland and Yale Michigan, Toronto, Woodstock, Kitchener, New Hamburg, Tavistock, Linwood, Atwood and surrounding district.

Christina (daughter of Nicholas Ruby and Barbara Bender) was born 7 Oct 1883, East Zorra Twp., Oxford Co., Ontario, Canada; died 29 Apr 1937, Mornington Twp., Perth Co., Ontario, Canada; was buried , Poole Mennonite Cemetery, Mornington Twp., Perth Co., Ontario.     ALBRECHT, Mae Mettle (nee Ropp) -Passed away peacefully, on Thursday. May 30, 2002, surrounded by the love of her children in Cambridge Memorial Hospital. in her 83rd year.

    Mae was the daughter of the late Moses and Christena (Ropp) Ruby. Mae resided at RR 1. Newton and was a member of Stirling Avenue Mennonite Church. Kitchener.

    Beloved wife of Norman Albrecht (1947) and John B. Albrecht (1983). Loving mother of son. John Ross Albrecht and Heather of RR 1. Newton: daughters. Fern Partridge and Jim of Milverton. Audrey Peckford and Melvin of Cambridge: caring and proud grandmother to John B. Albrecht. Jason and Stacey Partridge. Karen (Peckford_ Daza. Tracey (Peckford) Klassen Connie (Peckford) Angeloni and James Peckford. Also great-grandma to Christina. Nicholas. Rachel. Scott and Sarah. Mae is survived by one sister. Melinda (Mrs. William Potter) of Kitchener.

    Mae was predeceased by brothers. Nelson Ropp and Vernal Ropp and by one sister Emmaline Ropp.

    Family and friends may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home. 7 Spencer St.. Milverton tonight (Friday) from 7-9 p.m.. again Saturday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Sunday. June 2. 2002 at 3 p.m. at Crosshill Mennonite Church. Crosshill. with Pastor David Martin of Stirling Ave. Mennonite Church officiating. Interment to follow in Rush's Cemetery. Wellesley township.
