    PURDON, Alma Lorraine 'Lorrie' (nee Atkinson) - Passed away, on Wednesday, October 14, 2009, at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, at the age of 83. Beloved wife of the late John Purdon (1985). Dear mother of Doug Purdon (Cheryl) of Ayr, Janice Futher (Nyle) of Elmira and Shelley Hallberg (Tor) of Formosa. Grandmother of Jay Purdon (Brandi), Shawn Futher (Toni), Kevin Futher (Melanie) and Britta and Jemica Hallberg. Great-grandmother of Carter and Hannah Purdon and Brandon and Kayleigh Futher. Also survived by her brother, Eldon Atkinson (Alein) of Chatsworth and by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her sister, Muriel (1974); and granddaughter, Holly Purdon (1994). A special thank you to the Tate and Omand families for many years of friendship and caring. A funeral service for Lorrie will be held in the chapel of the Henry Walser Funeral Home , 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467 on Saturday, October 17, 2009 (today) at 7 p.m. followed by a reception. A private interment will take place in Woodland Cemetery.     Holly Lynn Purdon

    After a four-day courageous battle to overcome severe head injuries resulting from a motor vehicle accident, Holly Lynn Purdon of Ayr, went to be with Jesus on July 25th, 1994. She was in her 19th year. Holly was the "precious princess" of Doug and Cheryl Purdon; the "very special" sister of Jay; the "darling" granddaughter of Sam and Yvonne Shantz, Lorrie Purdon and the late John Purdon. She was a very dear girl to Wendy Willis, Jack, Marianne, Shane and Dana Davis, Mike and Carol Upham. Holly is survived by loving aunts, uncles and cousins Vic and Donna Generoux, Troy, Trevor, Vicki and Tyler, Brian and Rebecca Shantz, Angela, Derek, Kristin, Rebecca and Kelsey, Nyle and Janice Futher, Shawn and Kevin, Tor and Shelley Halberg, Britta and Jemica. Holly will also be missed by many friends that she cherished and treasured. Holly was an honours graduate of Southwood Secondary School. She was to attend the University of Western Ontario this fall on an entrance scholarship to become an occupational therapist. A memorial service to celebrate Holly's special life was held at Knox United Church, Ayr, on Sunday, July 31st at 2: 30 p.m. Arrangements by Ayr Chapel, Wm. Kipp Funeral Home.
