An active member of St. Anne's RC Church, serving as caretaker for many years. A retired shoe store manager of 21 years and retired from Boehmer Box Ltd., after 13 years. A member of the Independent Order of Foresters and past president of the Pioneer Comedy and Musical Group. Son of the late Jonas Scheffner and Priscilla Boegel. Husband of the former Anne Strauss; father of Harold and his wife Violet, Mary Jane and her husband Bob Leger, all of Kitchener and Carol Anne (Mrs. Gerry Recoskie) of Waterloo; brother of Armella (Mrs. Gilbert Schnarr) and Anna (Mrs. Harry Brenner), all of Waterloo; grandfather of John, Jenny-Lynn, Jason, Ryan, Amanda and Philip. Predeceased by two daughters and one son, in infancy; three brothers, Wilfred, Hilbert and John and two grandchildren. Visitation at the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home and Chapel, 51 Benton at Church Street, after 2 p.m., Sunday.     October 21, 2004, at age 96, of natural causes. Predeceased by his beloved wife Sally, his grandson Kerry and his sister Irene. Survived by his daughter Sandra Arnason (Morley), his grandson Mark, his great-grandson Michael, sister Beatrice Poletzny, brother Phil (Olga), nieces and nephews and other relatives in Brantford. Highly regarded as a businessman (Boegel Appliances) and active in community affairs in Kitchener for many years, he will be fondly remembered by his friends at Westmount Golf and Country Club.

    The funeral service will be held on Monday, October 25 at 11:30 am at St. John's Anglican Church, 23 Water St. N. Kitchener, followed by a reception for family and friends, and interment in the family plot at Mount Hope Cemetery, Brantford.     Friends learned with regret of the passing of Mrs. Roy Bock, formerly Florence Mary Boegel, 28, of 151 Benton street, Kitchener, who died on Tuesday at St. Mary's Hospital. Mrs. Bock was born in Kitchener on May 4, 1911, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Boegel.

    Besides her parents and husband there survive an infant son, one day old, two brothers, Arthur and Philip, both of Kitchener, and two sisters, Mrs. Michael Paleczny of Waterloo and Miss Irene Boegel of Kitchener. The funeral is being held at 9 a.m. this (Friday at St. Mary's R.C. church. Burial in Woodland cemetery.

    PALECZNY, BEATRICE Marie (nee Boegel) After a short illness, Beatrice passed away peacefully at Grand River Hospital, Kitchener, on Wednesday, September 12, 2012. She was born in Kitchener (Berlin) on May 4, 1911. Beatrice was predeceased by her parents, Alexander Boegel and Bertha Bernhardt; her brothers, Arthur and Philip Boegel; sisters, Florence Bock and Irene Lorentz; and daughter-in-law, Camilla Paleczny. Beatrice's love is cherished by her children, David and wife Mary, Paul and wife Cynthia, Brian and wife Sheila, and Peter (pre-deceased wife Camilla). Also deeply loved are her grandchildren, Christopher, Martin, Alan, Jeffrey, Andrea, Catherine, Pamela, Terri, Greg, Jameson, David and Marla; and 14 great-grandchildren. Beatrice had been a member of St. Louis RC Church since 1937 when she married Michael Paleczny who predeceased her in April 1970. She was an active member for the past 75 years of St. Louis Catholic Women's League, and a past President. She was a member of the Senior Knights of Columbus, Waterloo Council, the Carmelite Guild, Right for Life and St. Mary's General Hospital Volunteer Association. For the past six years, she resided at the Sunshine Centre, Lutherwood Village in Waterloo. Beatrice was an avid golfer and she loved a good game of bridge with her many friends. Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home , 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Sunday, September 16 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. with Parish Prayers at 7 p.m. Beatrice's funeral mass of celebration will be held at St. Louis RC Church, 53 Allen St. E., Waterloo on Monday, September 17, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. Condolences for the family and memorial donations to St. Mary's Hospital Foundation or Grand River Regional Cancer Centre may be arranged by contacting the funeral home at www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445.

    Passed away peacefully, at St. Mary's Hospital, on Tuesday, December 20, 2005, 92 years of age. Philip Henry Boegel, loving husband of Olga Boegel of Kitchener. Dear father of Karen Reinhardt (Dr. David) of Waterloo, Patricia Ernewein (Larry) of Waterloo, Mary Ellen Squires (Carl) of Waterloo and Joanne Boegel (Peter) of Kitchener. Dear Grandfather of Lee Ann Reinhardt (Jeff), Christopher Reinhardt (Coleen), Kirsten Raithby (Dan), Jeffrey Ernewein (Dale Ann), Lori Merlihan (Joe), Denise Acton (Kevin), Patrick Squires, Carla Squires, Andrew Squires (Courtney). Great-Grandfather of Elyse Reinhardt, Lauren Raithby, Cassandra, Nicole, and Colin Merlihan, Alyson Acton, Joshua Ernewein, and Nollan Squires. Fondly remembered by one sister Beatrice Palecznay of Waterloo. Predeceased by one brother Art Boegel and two sisters Irene Lorentz and Florence Bock, and one great-grandchild John Jeffery Ernewein. Philip was retired after 48 years of owning Boegel Appliance in Kitchener. Philip was a member of St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church and a devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home and Chapel, 51 Benton at Church Street, Kitchener on Thursday (today) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Parish Prayers will be offered in the funeral home at 8: 30 p.m. (tonight). Prayers will be recited on Friday, December 23, 2005 at 9: 30 a.m. Transfer will then be made to St. Anne's R.C. Church for a Complete Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Father Mark Sullivan officiating. Reception to follow in the Heritage Room of the funeral home. Cremation to follow.
