She was a faithful member of the Mennonite Church for many years and left this world in a living hope of meeting her Savior, often expressing her desire to leave and be with Christ which is far better. Funeral services at the Waterloo Mennonite Church on Oct. 24, by Noah Stauffer, Lewis Weber, and Jonas Snider. Texts, Rev. 21: 4; I Cor.15: 55-57.

    DEATH OF JOHN B. KNARR

    The death took place yesterday at his home near Erbsville of a highly respected resident of the county in the person of John B. Knarr who passed way at the age of 76 years. The deceased suffered a stroke last Decemer for but up to a few weeks ago has been in fairly good health and his passing ill be learned with regret by a large circle of friends. He leaves to mourn his loss a sorrowing widow six sons William and Allan Erbsville John of Kitchener Edwin St. Agatha, Oscar Waterloo and Herbert Sask and one daughter Emma (Mrs. Adam Schmidt) Heidelberg. Twenty grandchildren all survive. The funeral will be hold on Sunday afternoon June 20th at 2 o'clock (standard time) to the Erbsville church for service and thence to the Erbsville Cemetery for interment.

He was a faithful member of the First Mennonite Church, Kitchener, and a thoroughgoing Christian, true to his Lord, loyal to the church, courageous, considerate, a constant worker in the church, one of the Lord's dependables.     Mrs. Wilfred L. Wanner of 410 Stirling Ave., S., Kitchener, died Saturday at her home. She was 77.

    The former Lauretta Fried, she was born in Blenheim Township near Roseville and was a daughter of the late Mr and Mrs. Allan Fried.

    She had been a resident of Kitchener for the past six years and formerly lived in the New Dundee area for many years.

    She was a member of Grace United Church, Roseville, and the United Church Women.

    She was predeceased by her first husband, Gilbert Becker, in 1919 and her second husband, Wilfred Wanner, in 1953 and by one brother and one sister.

    Surviving are two sons, R. Willard (Bill) Becker and Ward G. Becker, both of New Dundee; and seven daughters, Mrs. Oliver (Margaret) Bean of New Dundee, Mrs. Peter (Myrtle) Vanderscoot of New Hamburg, Mrs. Wayne (Susie) Shantz of St. Agatha, Cleo Wanner of Kitchener, Mrs. Elgin (Ivy) Musselman of Waterloo, Mrs. John (Reta) Hofstetter of Plattsville, Mrs. Melvin (Dorothy) Shantz of Petersburg; three brothers, Ephraim of Kitchener, Ralph and Clayton, both of Roseville; two sisters, Mrs. Edgar (Cleo) Latsch of Roseville, Mrs. Harry (Ethel) Brodhaecker of Galt; 30 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

    The body will be at the Ratz- Bechtel Funeral Home after 3 p.m. Sunday until 11 a.m. Tuesday when removal was made to Grace United Church, Roseville, where Rev. A. M. Schlenker conducted the service at 2:30 p.m.

    Burial was in the Roseville cemetery.

    Ralph Fried of Roseville passed away Sunday, February 8th in St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, following a lengthy illness. He was 77.

    A. member of Grace United Church, Roseville, born in Blenheim Township where he farmed for most of his life until retirement.

    Son of the late Allan Fried and Rachel Gehman; brother of Clayton and Cleo (Mrs. Edgar Latsch), both of Roseville; predeceased by two brothers, Ephraim and Russel; three sisters Mrs. Loretta Wanner, Mrs. Gertrude Veitch and Mrs. Ethel Brodhaecker.

    Funeral and committal service was held Tuesday at Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, Kitchener, with Mr. Elmer D. Harke officiating. Interment Roseville, Cemetery.

    Mr. Schmidt was employed at BF Goodrich Canada Inc., Kitchener for 21 years. He then owned and operated a garage and service station for 18 years, before his retirement. He was a longtime member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church.

    Beloved husband for 68 years of Adeline (nee Brandt) of Kitchenr and father of Delton Schmidt and his wife Marie of Kitchener and Lorein Nurse of London, Ont. Also sadly missed by his grandchildren, Patricia and her husband Tyler Holmes of Kitchener and Lynda and her husband Donald Rowdon of London, Ont. and his great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Jordan Holmes, Julie and Laura Rowdon.

    Allan was the last surviving member of his family and was predeceased by his parents, Adam Schmidt and the former Emma Knarr; one brother, Lorne Schmidt; two sisters, Alice Bechthold and Alberta Schmidt and two grandsons in infancy.

    Miss Alberta Schmidt of near Heidelberg, died suddenly Saturday at K-W Hospital She had been ill with pneumonia. Deceased, who was born in Heidelberg and was in her 34th year, bas been living in and about Waterloo for the past three years. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Adam Schmidt.

    She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Herman Bechthold, Heidelberg, and two brothers, Larne, Heidelberg, and Allan of Kitchener,

    The funeral will be held Wednes day at 2 p.m. from Letter and Dreisinger's Funeral Home to St. Paul's Lutheran church, Heidelberg, for services at 3 o'clock. Interment will take place in Heidelberg Cemetery.

    KNARR, Gilbert 1921 - 2014 Passed away peacefully at KW Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, Kitchener, on Sunday, March 23, 2014, at the age of 92. Gilbert is survived by his dear wife Murial "Reta" (Uhrig), with whom he shared 71 years of marriage that demonstrated mutual support and love for each other. Cherished father of Wayne Knarr and Kathy (Kelly) Mulligan. Will be lovingly missed by his grandchildren Andrew Mulligan (Kelly), Bradley Mulligan (Lauren) and many nieces and nephews.
