    At the K-W Hospital on Oct. 18, 1971, 78 years, Leonora Schmidt of 114 Church St., Kitchener, beloved wife of the late George Berdux; dear mother of Ralph of New Hamburg, Mrs. Dorothy Miller and Ester (Mrs. Oliver Glebe) of Kitchener, Helen (Mrs. Walter Kraehling), Norma (Mrs. Gill Peterson) of Waterloo and Kathleen (Mrs. Norman Lichty) of Route 2, Baden. Also survived by seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Resting at the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home, 51 Benton St., Kitchener for service on Wednesday at 1: 30 o'clock. Interment First St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Wellesley.

    With quiet grace peacefully in the presence of her family, at Chateau Gardens in London on December 13, 2012, Esther Ruth Glebe passed away in her 92nd year. Devoted wife and best friend of the late Oliver George Glebe. Remembered with treasured love by her daughter, Judi Barker and her husband Grant and by her grandchildren, Sarah Barker-Brown and her husband Campbell Brown of Louisville, Kentucky and Laura Kennedy and her husband Michael Kennedy of Toronto, Ontario to whom she was affectionately known as “Nana“. Dear great grandmother to Madison and Chandler Brown and Charlie and Sam Kennedy. Predeceased by her sisters, Dorothy Miller and Helen Kraehling and survived by her brother Ralph Berdux of Stratford, her sister, Norma Peterson and her husband Gil of Huntsville, her sister Kay Lichty and her husband Norm of Grand Bend and by many nieces and nephews. The most treasured aspect of her life was her family. Her kind and fun loving spirit, unwavering support, generosity, compassion and constant devotion were Mom's gifts to all of us through her lifetime. Mom also taught us about style as evident in her fashionable dress, the way she decorated her house and even to the way she beautifully wrapped Christmas gifts. As a resident of Kitchener, Mom was a member of the Westmount Golf and Country Club, the Canadian Cancer Society - Kitchener-Waterloo Branch, a life member of the Garden Club of Kitchener-Waterloo, where she won many awards, for her flower arrangements and garden designs and as well a long time member and Sunday school teacher, at St. Stephens Lutheran Church. Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Nicholls and all the staff and caregivers of Magnolia Unit within Chateau Gardens. Your compassion and attention to Esther's care during the last nine years of her life are profoundly appreciated. A private family funeral will be held at RATZ-BECHTEL FUNERAL HOME, 621 King Street West, Kitchener on December 22, 2012 with interment to follow at Memory Gardens, Breslau.

    Passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Bluewater Rest Home, Zurich on March 11, 2018 in her 91st year. Beloved wife of Norman Lichty. Loving mother of Patricia Heipel and her husband Keith. Kay will be lovingly remembered by her sister Norma Peterson of Toronto, the Heipel family, and family friend Linda Bain. Predeceased by her parents George and Leonora Berdux, siblings Dorothy (Gil) Miller, Helen (Walter) Kraehling, Ralph (Laverne) Berdux, Esther (Oliver) Glebe, and brother-in-law Gilles Peterson. Kay was born in Kitchener on April 18, 1927, and spent her youth in the Wellesley area. It was there; she met and married her husband of 68 years. The family expresses gratitude to Dr. O'Connor and the staff at Bluewater Rest Home for their compassion and outstanding care.

    A private family funeral service will be held. Cremation with interment Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Haskett Funeral Home, Zurich (519-236-4365).

    Donations to Bluewater Rest Home or Alzheimer Society of Huron County would be appreciated by the family. For those who wish, donations may be made at the funeral home with cheque or cash.
