    ROTH, Mrs. John L. (Matilda)\emdashOn Monday, Nov. 29, 1982, at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, Mrs. Matilda (Schwartzentruber) Roth, aged 85, of Nithview Home, New Hamburg, and formerly of Baden.
    She was a member of the St. Agatha Mennonite Church, where she was a member of the WMSC.
    Beloved wife of the late John L. Roth, who predeceased her September 19, 1971; dear mother of Mildred (Mrs. Lawrence Hauder) of Milford, Neb., Martha (Mrs. Jack Miller) of Wooster, Ohio, Arthur of Julesburg, Colo., Beatrice (Mrs. John Holst) of New Dundee, Vernon of Breslau and Clare of Petersburg. Also surviving are 23 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one brother, Clayton Schwartzentruber of Petersburg.
    She was predeceased by her parents, the late John E.R. and Catherine Schwartzentruber and one granddaughter, Connie Lou.
    Friends may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, New Hamburg Chapel, 291 Huron St., after 7 p.m. this evening, until noon on Thursday, Dec. 2, 1982, when transfer will be made to St. Agatha Mennonite Church, for service at 2:30 p.m., with Rev. Arthur Roth, Rev. Neston Martin and Rev. Elmer Schwartzentruber officiating. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.
    As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to Nithview Home or the Western Ontario Mennonite Mission Board.

    Schwartzentruber, Clayton, son of John E. R. and Catherine Schwartzentruber, was born at Petersburg, Ont., Dec. 10. 1910; died of respiratory problems at St. Mary's Hospital, May 14, 1990; aged 79. On Sept. 17, 1930, he was married to Elmina Roth, who survives. Also surviving are 2 sons (Delford and Donald), one daughter (Carol), one foster-daughter (Evelyn), 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death is one sister (Matilda Roth). He was a member of St. Agathe Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held on May 17, in charge of Darrell D. Jantzi and Elmer Schwartzentruber; interment in St. Agathe Cemetery.

    Mildred May Hauder was born on May 8, 1925, in Petersburg, Ontario, Canada to John L. and Matilda (Swartzentruber) Roth and passed away on Good Friday April 15, 2022, in Seward, NE at the age of 96.

    Mildred attended grade school and as a young girl accepted Christ as her personal savior and was baptized. On September 28, 1946, she was united in marriage to Ernest Roth in St Agatha, Ontario, Canada. However, Mildred found herself widowed too soon as she was left to mourn the tragic loss of her husband in a pick-up/train accident 10 months later. Along with raising her daughter, Sharon, Mildred worked in a doctor's home for a period of time and later was a housekeeper and nanny. She was blessed with a second marriage to Lawrence Hauder on June 19, 1965, and moving to the United States and residing in Milford, NE on the farm and later in town.

    Mildred was a member of the East Fairview Mennonite Church, WMSC and volunteered at the Et Cetera Shop in Seward. She enjoyed being with family, sewing, quilting, gardening, cooking, taking trips to Canada and spending winter is Sarasota, FL.

    Survivors include her children and spouses, Sharon and Bill Stauffer, Milford, Carley Roth, Lincoln, Betty and Lowell Hertzler, Harrisonburg, VA, Sue Ann and Roy Perry, Hinton, VA.     WOOSTER -- Born in Petersburg, Ontario, to John and Matilda (Swartzentruber) Roth on Sept. 1, 1927, and lived a rich full life.She attended Ontario Mennonite Bible School and studied two years at Eastern Mennonite College, Harrisonburg, Va.In her eighth summer of Voluntary Service, she managed Camp Ebenezer, where she met Jack Miller. He became her husband on June 12, 1954. The two enjoyed ten summers at Camp Luz, with Jack as manager and Martha as cook.Martha was very active in church work, especially enjoying the Mennonite Women's group. She was church historian almost 20 years and taught Sunday school and Bible school.Her hobbies were oil painting, embroidering pictures, traveling with her husband, flower arranging and all manner of crafts.She was a homemaker who worked at Wooster High cafeteria for 18 years and St. Mary and Grant Street schools. She loved quantity cooking at church, Camp Luz and Meals Together. She loved to entertain.She is survived by her children, Gloria (Mark) Wilson of Wooster, Brian (Jane) Miller of New Market, Va., Tim (Katie) Grigg-Miller of Silver Lake, Brenda Miller of Orrville; siblings, Mildred Hauder of Milford, Neb., Arthur (Marjorie) Roth of Julesburg, Colo., Vernon (Betty) Roth of Breslau, Ontario, Clare Roth of Petersburg, Ontario; and brother-in-law, John Holst of New Dundee, Ontario; her spiritual sister, Geneva (Vernon) Meyer of Wooster; and numerous nieces and nephews.Martha said she sometimes had to marvel at how wonderful her grandchildren are.     ART ROTH, 92, of Julesburg, entered into the Lord's rest on June 26, 2023, surrounded by his family, at the Sedgwick County Hospital in Julesburg.

    Arthur John Roth was born on December 24, 1930, near Petersburg, Ontario, Canada, to Matilda Swartzendruber Roth and John L. Roth. Growing up on the family farm near the village of Petersburg, he attended grade school until the eighth grade when he was needed to assist with farm work. At the age of eleven, Art recognized his need for a Savior and accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior during a church revival. He was baptized in 1941 at the Steinmann Mennonite Church in Baden, Ontario, Canada.

    While residing in Canada, Art worked as a grocery bagger at Loblaws Super Market in Kitchener, Ontario. He later found employment at a local sawmill and a transport company. Actively involved in his church, Art served as a Sunday School teacher, Song Leader, Janitor, and youth leader.

    In the summer of 1953, Art embarked on a life-changing adventure with the Christian Laymen's Tent Evangelism team based in Orrville, Ohio. He traveled extensively across the United States, from Oregon to New York, and throughout Ontario, Canada. Art served as Assistant to the tent Manager during his time with the team.

She was a member of Pioneer Park Christian Fellowship, Kitchener and drove school bus for both Thibideau and Shantz Coach Lines with 32 years of service. Beatrice volunteered with the Grand Valley Women's Institution and had babysat for New Dundee Dancefit. She enjoyed cake decorating, making memory books and spending time with her grandchildren. Beatrice lovingly served her Lord in many ways. Beloved wife of John Holst with whom she celebrated 50 years of marriage on May 30, 2003.

    Passed away peacefully at his residence, The Village of Winston Park, Kitchener, on Friday, July 28, 2017. Clare was the son of the late John and Matilda Roth (Swartzentruber) and was born on the home farm in Petersburg, Ontario 79 Years ago.

    Clare will always be missed and cherished by his daughters Michelle (Robert) Popma and Alyson (Sam) Wilson, his grandchildren; Joseph, Michael, Katelynn, Daniel, Spencer, Nicholas, Zachari and Matthew. He will be remembered by his brothers and sisters; Arthur (Marjorie) Roth of Colorado, Vernon (Betty) Roth of Breslau and Mildred Hauder of Nebraska.

    Clare is predeceased by his daughter Connie Lou Roth, sisters Martha and husband Jack Miller and Beatrice and husband John Holst as well as by brother in law Laurence Hauder.

    Clare retired as a Manager of Zehrs at the age of 55 and spent much of his time playing golf, a game he grew to love all his life. Clare was an Optimist Club member.

    Cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to a time of memorial visiting on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 from 5 \endash 8 p.m. at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg. A Memorial Service will take place on Thursday, August 3, 2017 in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m. followed by a time of refreshment and fellowship.

    SWARTZENTRUBER, Delford Roy (Del) - Passed away suddenly, on Friday, November 18, 2005, at his resi-dence, RR1, New Dundee.
    He was born 73 years ago on March 5, 1932, in Petersburg, a son of the late Clayton and Elmina (Roth) Schwartzentruber. Del was an active member of Bethel Evangelical Missionary Church, New Dundee. He was retired after 30 years of service
    with J.M. Schneiders. Del had been a
    charter member of the New Dundee Snowmobile Club and enjoyed having the clubhouse on his property. He was a member of the New Dundee Board of Trade and the Union Cemetery Board.
    Beloved husband of Marilyn (nee Eckstein) whom he married June 19, 1954. Loving father and grandfather of Tim and Joy and their children, Nathan and Michelle, Kristin, Tyson and Jonathan; Dale and Darlene and their children Candice, Brittany and Darryl; Faith Ann and Don Karcher and their daughter Janessa, all of New Hamburg; and Jeff and Cate and chil-dren
    Scott, Sean, Lilly and Mac of Greensville. Dear brother of Carol Hebert and Evelyn and Carl Randall, all of Kitchener. Also remembered by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Leone Schwartz of Mississauga, Shirley and Elmer Poll of RR1, New . Dundee, Ann and Roy Parker, Waldron and Doreen Eckstein, all of New Hamburg, June Rieck of New Dundee,' as well as many nieces and nephews.
    Del was predeceased by brother Don Schwartz and brother-in-law Bob Rieck.
    Friends and relatives called at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and will again Tuesday (today) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2005 at Bethel Evangelical Missionary Church,1531 Bridge St., New Dundee at 2 p.m. with Pastor Graham Burkhart officiating. Burial to follow in Union Cemetery, New Dundee.

Don was a Regional Sales Manager for Cantrex Group Inc., Mississauga and was a member of St. Hilary's Anglican Church, Mississauga. Beloved husband of Leone (Sam) and loving brother of Del and Marilyn Swartzentruber of New Dundee, Carol Hebert, Evelyn and Carl Randall, all of Kitchener; dear nephew of Selena Wagler and Erma Swartzentruber of Baden, Elmer and Annie Roth of New Hamburg and Muriel (Mickey) Crowe of Toronto.
