    LITTLE CHILD'S LOVE

IT REUNITED EX-DETECTIVE MONAHAN AND WIFE.

They Mingled Tears Over Bier of Litttle Daughter and Ended By Remarrying.

Detroit. July 18 - A romance that began with began with love, lead to marriage was shattered by a divorce and revived by the death of a child came to a happy end Tuesday whets Joseph Monahan formerly a detective officer, was married to his divorced wife.

It was ten years ago that Monahan and Miss Annie Hertz met. He was a popular member of the police force and she a pretty west side girl. They were married in the presence of scores of friends and the future seemed very bright.

One ill-starred day another woman came between the husband and the faithful wife. From that moment Mr. Monahan was a different man. He lost his position as detective and began to neglect his wife and children. On June 9. 1902. they were divorced. The grounds were non-support and cruelty.

Monahan drifted to Chicago and other cities and then back to Detroit. Irene their pretty little daughter had become seriously ill. A spark of the old affection kindled in the father's heart. He went daily to 599 Baker street, where the mother and sick child lived. Spinal meningitis developed and a few days ago the bright little girl passed away.

Standing at the side of the little white coffin the two parents mingled their tears in common grief. After the little form had been to rest they resolved to forget the past and wed for the sake of their two little boys.

On Monday night the ceremony that for the second lime made them man and wife was performed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Richards, 394 Twenty-fourth street.

"It was all my fault that we parted." said Monahan. "I realize now what a fool I was. I am sure we will be happy again."
