The news of the death of Mrs. Albert Steinke came as a shock to the people of Elmira on Sunday. While doing a little fancy work after supper last Friday evening she suffered a stroke which rendered her unconscious. Though it was hoped that she would gradually recover, that was not to be and she passed away on Sunday morning without having regained consciousness.

At the age of fourteen she was confirmed and up to the time of her death was an active member of St. James Lutheran church and of its Ladies Aid. An attractive personality and genial disposition, made her a great favorite and her death will be lamented by a wide circle of friends.

Her only daughter, Mae, having died several years ago, she is survived by her husband and one son Milt[…?] who will sorely miss their devoted wife and mother. One brother, William Henrich of Detroit, and three sisters, Mrs. Dan Schaefer and Mrs. E. Hauser of Kitchener and Mrs. W. Ludlow of Cainsville also survive.
