    Holtzworth, Albert, son of John and Lydia (Ringler) Holtzworth, was born in Waterloo Twp., Ont., Sept. 26, 1885; died at the K-W Hospital, Mar. 15, 1969; aged 83 y. 5 m. 17 d. On Apr. 3, 1912, he was married to Mary Anne Knarr, who survives. Also surviving are 2 sons (Harold and Carl), 3 daughters (Seleda - Mrs. Julius Wagenknecht, Alberta - Mrs. Clayton Oesch, and Lydia - Mrs. Irvin Weber), 15 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 2 sisters (Mrs. Edna Assmussen and Mrs. Annie Holst). He was preceded in death by one son (Elmer), one sister (Mrs. Elizabeth Ruefer), and one brother (Norman). He was a member of the Latschar Church, where funeral services were held Mar. 18, with Gordon Bauman officiating, assisted by Don Wenger; interment in Mannheim Mennonite Cemetery.

    Albert Holtzworth

    Albert Holtzworth, RR 2, Petersburg, died Saturday at the K-W Hospital after a brief illness. He was 83.

    A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Holtzworth, he was born Sept. 26, 1885 in Waterloo Township. He farmed at RR 2, Petersburg for many years. He was a member of Mannheim Mennonite Church.

    Surviving are his wife, the former Mary Anne Knarr whom he married April 3, 1912 in Wilmot Township; two sons, Harold, Kitchener and Carl, at home; three daughters, Mrs. Julius (Seleda) Wagenknecht and Mrs. Clayton (Alberta) Oesch, both of Kitchener and Mrs. Irvin (Lydia) Weber, RR2, Petersburg; two sisters, Mrs. Jacob (Annie) Holst, RR 2, Petersburg and Mrs. Edna Asmussen, Kitchener; 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

    He was predeceased by an infant son Elmer, a brother Norman, and a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Rueffer.

    Funeral service was held at the Mannheim Mennonite church yesterday, Rev. Gordon Bauman officiating.

    Burial was in Mannheim Mennonite cemetery.

On Sept. 2, 1914, she was married to Jacob Holst, who preceded her in death. She was preceded in death by one son (Walter) and one daughter (Margaret).     Mother of Howard, Helen (Mrs. William Lehmann) and Grace (Mrs. Ernest Frohlich) all of Kitchener; sister of Mrs. Annie Holst of RR 2, Petersburg. Six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren also survive. Predeceased by her husband Edger in 1961; two grandchildren; two brothers, Norman and Albert and her sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Rueffer. She was a member of Highland United Church.

    Funeral and committal service was held in the Ratz-Bechtel Chapel Monday, Jan 12, 1981 at 3 pm, Rev. Larry Wiegand conducted the service. Interment was held in Woodland Cemetery.

Beloved husband of Helen (nee Hilderley). Cherished father of Sharon (Bob) Dietrich and Susan Yocom. Dear grandpa of Scott (Susan) and Kevin (Jennifer) Yocom, Kyle (Mandy) and Chad (Stephanie) Dietrich. Loved great-grandpa of Sarah, Tanner, Paige, Keaton, Grady, Maren, and Mayelle. Brother of Seleda Wagknecht and Alberta Oesh. Predeceased by his parents Albert and Mary Ann, brothers Elmer and Carl, sister Lydia Weber and sons-in-law Robert Barlow and Keith Yocom. Friends are invited to share their memories of Harold with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home , 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Sunday, June 5 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Monday, June 6 at 11 a.m. A reception will immediately follow.     Passed away peacefully at Sunnyside Home LTC, Kitchener on Monday, September 3, 2018, at the age of 98 years.

    Loving mother of Brian, Nancy (David) Taves and Mary Anne (Stuart) Brodrecht. Special grandmother of 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.

    Predeceased by her husband Clayton Oesch, son Robert and daughter Brenda Venturnio; parents Albert and Mary Anne (nee Knarr) Holtzworth; brothers Carl Holtzworth and Harold Holtzworth and sisters Seleda Wagenknecht and Lydia Weber.

    Alberta worked for many years as a caregiver to seniors. She enjoyed art and spent many hours colouring in front of her window at Sunnyside Home.

    Friends are invited to share their memories of Alberta with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday, September 6, 2018 from 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 11 a.m. A reception will immediately follow the service.     By Record Correspondent PETERSBURG, March 17.-Pte. Carl H. Holtzworth was wounded in both legs while fighting with the Essex Scottish Regiment in Holland on Feb. 28, and is recovering in a hospital following an operation on the legs.

    He had served with the Royal Canadian Artillery on the west coast for two years before going overseas in August, 1944. He later transferred to an infantry regiment.

    Pte. Holtzworth is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Holtzworth, Petersburg.

John was born 83 years ago in Wilmot Township and was the son of the late Jacob and Annie (Holtzworth) Holst. Beloved husband of the late Beatrice (Roth) Holst who predeceased him October 26, 2003. Loving father of John Dwight Holst of Kitchener, Philip Holst and Donna Flanagan of R.R. # 3 Woodstock, Dianne Ritz of Guelph, Myron and Christine Holst of Fergus, Charlotte and Richard Cudney of New Dundee, Steven and Doris Holst of Petersburg, Mark and Val Holst, Karen Horst and partner Freeman Purvis, Della Ferguson all of Kitchener. Sadly missed by his 21 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Remembered by his sister Viola Holst of Waterloo and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Ellen Holst, Joanna Ropp, Grace Holst, Mae Holst all of New Hamburg, Edith Holst of Kitchener, Susan Holst of Waterloo, Wesley Sauder of St. Jacobs, Mildred Hauder of Nebraska, Pastor Arthur and Marjorie Roth of Colorado, Vernon and Betty Roth of Breslau and Clare Roth of Petersburg. John was predeceased by his sisters Irene, Margaret Holst in infancy, Luella Sauder, brothers Albert, Harvey, Delton, George, Clarence, Walter, sister-in-law Martha and Jack Miller and brother-in-law Lawrence Hauder. John was a member of Pioneer Park Christian Fellowship, Kitchener. He was a former member of the New Dundee Board of Trade and had attended Wilmot Centre Seniors. He retired from the New Dundee Creamery after 27 years of service. John maintained and cared for, like they were his own; New Dundee Union Cemetery, Blenheim Mennonite Cemetery and Pioneer Park (Weber's Cemetery).
