    ELMIRA -     Charles H. Gowing, 79, of 45 Centre St., Elmira, died today at his residence. Born in Maryborough township, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Gowing. He retired from farming in 1947 and had been a resident of Elmira since 1949.

    Surviving are his wife, the former Isabelle Gabel, three daughters, Mrs. Lorne (Laura) Stahlbaum and Mrs. Clayton (Florence) Miller, both of RR 1, Elmira; and Mrs. Albert (Ruby) Israel, Kitchener; two sons, Morley of Glen Allen and Ivan, RR 3, Listowel; 24 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Calvin, Glen Allan, Edgar, Drayton and Wellington, Stratford.

    The body is at the Dreisinger funeral parlor, Elmira. Service will be conducted in the Dreisinger funeral chapel Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. H. L. Simpson officiating. Burial will be in the Elmira Cemetery.

    GLEN ALLAN - The funeral service for Edward Morley Gowing of Glen Allan will be held at the Glen Allan United Church, Wednesday at 2 p.m. Mr. Gowing died at his residence Sunday following a lengthy illness. He was 65,

    Born in Maryborough Township, the son of the late Charles Gowing and Mrs. Isobel Gowing of Elmira, Mr. Gowing was a life-long resident of the Glen Allan area. He was a member of the Glen Allan United Church.

    He was predeceased by his wife, the former Vera Kincade, in August, 1969, and is survived by his mother; six sons, Glen of Arthur, Keith of Wallenstein, Lyle of Kitchener, Douglas of Poole, and Neil and Wayne at home; five daughters, Mrs. Harold (Evelyn) Ellis of Moorefield, Mrs. Arthur (Doris) Woinoski and Bernice of Waterloo, Mrs. Ross (Dorothy) Jackson of Rothsay, and Lois at home; a brother, Ivan of RR 3, Listowel; three sisters, Mrs. Lorne (Laura) Stahlbaum of Floradale, Mrs. Clayton (Florence) Miller of Elmira and Mrs. Albert (Ruby) Israel of Kitchener and 13 grandchildren.

    The body will be at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor, Elmira, until noon Wednesday when removal will be made to the church. Rev. John Toby will officiate at the service and burial will be in Elmira cemetery.

    STAHLBAUM, Lena (Laura) (Mrs. Lorne C.) - Peacefully, on Sunday, February 16, 2003, at Chateau Gardens, Elmira, with her family by her side, Laura (Gowing) Stahlbaum, in her 97th year, of Elmira.

    Beloved wife of the late Lorne Stahlbaum (1996). Dear mother of Gladys Dahmer of Waterloo, Harold and Olive Stahlbaum of Kitchener, Grace and Walter Burkhart of Elmira, Betty Fitzgerald of Kitchener, Carl and Beulah Stahlbaum of Guelph, Pearl and Paul Gibson of Elora. Also loved and will be missed by her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Sister-in-law of Marguerite Gowing of Elmira.

    Predeceased by her parents, Charlet Isabella (Gable) Gowing; son, Roy and son-in-law, Douglas Dahmer; four grandchildren.

    The family will receive friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, on Tuesday 3-5 and 7-9 pm. At 9 am on Wednesday, transfer will be made to Trinity United Church, Elmira for funeral service at 11 am, with Rev. David Jagger officiating, followed by interment in Elmira Union Cemetery.

    Mrs. Ellis, 36, was the former Evelyn Irene Gowing. She was born at Glen Allan and was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Morley Gowing. She was a member of Moorefield United church and the United church women.

    Surviving are her husband; two sons, Garry and Paul, both at home; six brothers, Glen of Arthur, Keith of Wallenstein, Lyle of Kitchener, Douglas of Poole, Neil and Wayne, both of Glen Allan; four sisters, Bernice and Mrs. Arthur (Doris) Woino- ski, both of Waterloo, Mrs. Ross (Dorothy) Jackson of Rothsay, and Lois of Glen Allan.     GLADYS DAHMER 1926 - 2008 Passed away, peacefully, at St. Mary's General Hospital, Kitchener, on Sunday, March 30, 2008 at the age of 82 years. Cherished wife of the late Douglas Dahmer (1999). Beloved mother of Murray Dahmer and Mark Dahmer and his wife Karen. Loving grandmother of Christopher, Andrew and Charles. Predeceased by her son, Richard in infancy; granddaughter, Melanie (stillborn); father, Lorne Stahlbaum; mother, Laura Stahlbaum (nee Gowing); brother, Roy Stahlbaum and sister, Betty Fitzgerald. Survived by her brother, Harold Stahlbaum; sister, Grace Berkhert; brother, Carl Stahlbaum and sister, Pearl Gibson. Gladys was enjoying retired life and family. Friends are invited to share their memories of Gladys with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home , 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Thursday, April 3, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, April 4 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens, Breslau. All are welcome back to the funeral home's Fireside Reception Room for refreshments and a time to visit.
