Mrs. Christian B. Roth
There passed away near Baden on April 26th at the home of her son-in-law, Abraham Gingerich, Anna Kipfer, relict of the late Christian B. Roth, aged 83 years, 1 month and 7 days. She was born near St. Agatha and lived there until the death of her husband 16 years ago, after which she made her home with her daughter. She leaves five children, namely, John K. Roth, Katie (Mrs. Ab. Herner), David. K. Roth, Leah (Mrs. Abraham Gingerich), and Menno K. Roth, all of Wilmot. Also 23 grand-children, 16 great grandchildren and a brother, Andrew Kipfer, of Tavistock. Her husband, six children, 23 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild preceded her in death. The pallbearer's at the funeral held on April 29 were six grandsons, namely Rueben Gingerich, Benjamin, Abraham, Noah and Christian Berner, and Elmer Roth. Service was held at the St. Agatha Amish Mennonite church.

Leis and Anna - Mrs. Edmund Gingerich), 21 grandchildren, and 61 great-grandchildren. Roth, David K., son of the late Christian B. and Annie (Kuepfer) Roth; born June 28, 1879, in Wilmot Twp., Ont.; died Dec. 9, 1958, at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, Ont., after an illness of 5 days following a stroke; aged 79 y. 5 m. 11 d. On Jan. 23, 1908, he was married to Barbara Jantzi, who survives. To this union were born 7 sons and 3 daughters. Surviving are 9 children. One daughter and 2 grandchildren preceded him in death. (Elmer, Michael, David, and Ernest, of the Wellesley district; Alvin, London Rescue Mission,. London, Ont.; John, Ailsa Craig, Ont.; Milton, Toronto; Nancy -Mrs. Aaron Bast, and Barbara- Mrs. Nelson Zehr, with whom they resided), one brother (John K.), and one sister (Mrs. Leah Gingerich), Baden, Ont. He was a member of the Maple View congregation, where memorial services were held Dec. 12 by Samuel Schultz and Christian Streicher; interment in adjoining cemetery.

Miss Lizzie Road, daughter of Christian R. Roth, near this place, died at 1 o'clock Thursday afternoon after a short illness. She was sick only about two days with pneumonia. She was 15 years of age. Her remains were interred in the Amish cemetery, one mile west of St. Agatha, on Sunday, in the presence of a large circle of relatives and friends. The sorrowing family will have the heartfelt sympathy of the community in their bereavement.

HERNER, Abraham At K-W Hospital, Wednesday, October 6, 1976, following a brief illness, aged 78 years.
A member of St. Agatha Mennonite Church, and a lifelong resident of the K-W area.
Son of the late Abraham Herner and Catherine Roth; husband of the late Elizabeth Everatt; father of Kenneth of Kitchener and Earl of Route 1, Breslau; brother of Annie Kropf and Noah of Waterloo. Also survived by four grandchildren and three great grand children. Predeceased by two brothers, Christian and Benjamin.
Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, after 7 p.m. this evening until noon Friday when removal will be made to St. Agatha Mennonite Church for funeral service at 2 p.m. with Rev. Nelson Martin officiating. Interment in adjoining cemetery. Donations to the Ontario Heart Foundation or the Memorial Fund of the church may be made as expressions of sympathy.

WELLESLEY-Elmer Roth, 50, of Wellesley died suddenly Tuesday.
He was born in Wilmot Township April 8, 1911, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. David K. Roth and Barbara Jantzi.
He was a member of Maple View Mennonite Church and worked at the Jantzi Feed Mill, Wellesley.
Surviving are his wife, the former Esther Leis, whom he married April 29, 1952 in Wellesley; six brothers, Alvin of London, Ont., Michael and David of Wellesley, John of Ailsa Craig, Milton of Toronto and Ernst of RR 1, Wellesley, and two sisters, Mrs. Ernst (Nancy) Bast of Wellesley and Mrs. Nelson (Barbara) Zehr of RR 1, St. Agatha.
The body is at the home where a short service will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m., followed by a memorial service at Maple View Mennonite Church at 2 o'clock. Bishop Christian Streicher will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Milton, our father, on September 30, 2016 at the Emerson Care Home in Manitoba. Milton was born in Wellesley, Ontario on May 29, 1923. He married Clara Ropp in 1945 and with their four daughters they moved to Scarborough, Ontario. He worked for many years at Suburban Metal Industries designing and selling straps and tie down equipment for the transportation industry. He is survived by his daughters: Diane (John) Macintyre (Tammie, Fiona, Connie and Glen) of Milton, Donna (Tony) Klassen, (Clarise, Nathan, Nevin, Juanita, Nadine and Vernon) of Gretna, Manitoba, Sharon (Allan) Gilbert (Colin, Wesley, Stuart) of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Sandy Schaaf (Candice, Hayley) of Barrie, Ontario and by many great grandchildren. Milton is survived by his sister, Barbara Zehr and brother, David Roth. He was predeceased by his parents, David and Barbara Roth, and, by his wife Clara, daughter of John and Emma Ropp, and by his brothers Elmer, Alvin, Mike, John and Ernie and by his sister, Nancy and by his son-in-law, Bob Schaaf. Passed away, peacefully, in the presence of family, on Thursday, March 2, 2006 at her residence, Nithview Home, New Hamburg. Melinda was formerly of RR2 Petersburg. She was born 91 years ago in Wilmot Township a daughter of the late Abraham and Leah (Roth) Gingerich. Melinda was a member of Steinmann Mennonite Church, Baden where she had been involved with the W.M.S.C. and had taught adult Sunday school. Melinda had volunteered at Guelph Correctional Centre in the M2W2 program, with her husband, for many years and enjoyed sewing and knotting comforters for relief, gardening, flowers and time spent with her family. Beloved wife of the late Harold Hofstetter, who predeceased her April 5, 1996. Loving mother of Ken and his wife Anna Mae Hofstetter of Kitchener, Nyle and his wife Kathleen Hofstetter, and Laurene and her husband Doug Ferguson, all of Baden. Sadly missed by grandchildren Kevin Hofstetter, Patricia Hofstetter and partner Doug Lambert. Tammy Harnum, Larry Hofstetter. Brian Hofstetter, Marvin Hofstetter, Suzanne and husband Paul Brears. Sherry and husband Larry Dubue, Michael Ferguson and friend Zoe Chen and Andrew Ferguson and by great-grandchildren Hunter Lambert, Austin Harnum, MacKenzie and Madison Hofstetter, Emma, Erin and Lee Brears, Christine, Joseph, Jacob and Jessica Dubue. Dear sister-in-law of Edna Gingerich of Baden, as well as Hofstetter brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. Melinda was predeceased by two great-grandsons, Lawrence and Jonathon Dubue and was the last surviving member of her family having been predeceased by brothers and sisters, Reuben and Fanny Gingerich, Adeline and Ezra Gerber, Sarah and Allen Wagler, Almeda and Eldon Wagler and Rudy Gingerich. Friends and relatives may call at Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg, on Friday (tonight) from 7-9 p.m. and again Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Sunday March 5, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Steinmann Mennonite Church with Pastor Steve Drudge officiating. HERNER, Harley and Ruth (Leiskau) - Passed away tragically, away from home, on Sunday January 14, 2007. Ruth was born January 27, 1921 in Wilmot Township a daughter of the late Frederick and Amelia (Miller) Leiskau. Harley was born July 31, 1920, also in Wilmot Township, a son of the late Christian and Edna (Iutzi) Herner. Harley and Ruth were lifelong residents of Baden where they owned and operated Herner Wood Products Ltd., since the 1950's. They were members of St. James Lutheran Church, Baden and enjoyed cottage life for many years at Sauble Beach. Ruth had a great sense of humor, loyally supported Harley and loved her family best! Harley loved everything "wood", built homes, cottages and furniture for many years and had been a chauffeur for Baden's Livingston family in his younger days. Ruth and Harley were married 62 years ago on October 14, 1944. Sadly missed by children, David and Colleen Herner, Gail Herner and Howard Schell, all of Baden and Beth and Ken Baer of RR 2, Wingham. Lovingly remembered by grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Christa and Terry Gerber (Matthew and Meghan), Amie and Todd Wilker, Laura Herner, Jessica Wagler and Derek Hamilton (Emma), Rebecca Wagler, Kyle, Mark and Brandon Baer. Also remembered by Harley's sisters, Eileen Kochem of Waterloo, Helen Boldt of Petersburg and Geraldine and her husband Joseph Roth of New Hamburg as well as several nieces and nephews. Harley was predeceased by brothers-in-law, Clancy Kochem and John Boldt. Ruth was predeceased by brothers, Clarence and his wife Ferne and Harry and his wife Lula and sisters Olive and her husband Ed Diebel and a sister in infancy. According to Ruth and Harley's wishes, cremation has taken place. KOCHEM, Ilene 1923-2010 Ilene (Eileen) Kochem is in heaven. Peace and Joy are hers, Alleluia! She left this life as she was held in the arms of her favourite (no secret there) granddaughter, Kelley. Born in Baden, Ontario, January 2, 1923 Eileen was the daughter of Edna Iutzi and Christian Herner. Eileen was predeceased by her parents as well as siblings Geraldine Roth, Harley Herner and his wife Ruth, and brother-in-law John Boldt. Eileen's husband Frank (Clancy) passed away in 1992 and their infant daughter died in her second month of life in 1942. Left to mourn are a sister Helen Boldt and brother-in-law Joe Roth. Eileen leaves one daughter Gwen Schedewitz and her husband Earl to mourn her loss and celebrate the gift of a mother. First grandchildren Deb Carlson (nee Chappell), Mike Chappell (Ginger), Kelley Schedewitz (Jodi) will sadly miss their Gammy as well "acquired" grandchildren Sandra (Jack) Janzen and Jim Schedewitz. Great-grand- children: Katie, Sarah, Brad, Jacob, Zak, Jess, Paige, Alex and Nolan each in their own special way will also miss Gammy. Katie as a newborn and for 2 years more spent many happy hours toddling around on spur of the moment excursions with Gammy. Katie like her Aunt Kelley somehow got "the special deal" when it came to time with Gammy. From the marriages of her siblings, Eileen was blessed with many nieces and nephews whom she cherished. The Memorial Service to celebrate Eileen's life and faith will take place on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of St. John's Lutheran Church, 22 Willow St., Waterloo. Rev. ROTH, Geraldine Kathleen - Peacefully went to her heavenly rest, at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, on Friday, May 29, 2009, at the age of 80. Beloved wife of Joseph Roth for 59 years. Loving mother of Jennifer Roth (Brian), Jacqueline Roth (Eric) and Janine Stutt (David). Cherished grandmother of Wryan (Nikki), Matthew (Lara), Lauren, Nathan and Skye. Dear great-grandmother of Ciara. Survived by her sisters, Eileen Kochem and Helen Boldt. Predeceased by her parents, Edna and Christian Herner and her brother, Harley. Geraldine will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and countless friends. Memorial visitation will be held at the Westmount Funeral Chapel , 1001 Ottawa St. S., Kitchener on Monday (today) from 6-8 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, 247 Westmount Road, E., Kitchener on Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at 2 p.m. Private family interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Lupus Foundation of Ontario or Faith Lutheran Church, Kitchener would be appreciated and may be arranged by contacting the funeral home at 519-743-8900.
