HARRY CLEMENT DIETRICH 1924 - 2006 Passed away peacefully, embraced by the deep love of his family, at St. Mary's Hospital on Monday, January 16, 2006 at the age of 81. Beloved husband of Irene (nee Runstedler) for 56 years. Loving father of Anita and Albert Stalzer, Richard and Diane, Ted and Sandra, Susan and Gary Braley, Julie and Art Jamieson, Henry and Val, Bernadette, Raymond and Elizabeth. Proud and loving grandpa of 16 grandchildren: David, Anneliese, Christopher, Teresa, Benjamin, Nicholas, Justin, Rebecca, Cleo, Sara, Teddy, Rachel, William, Heidi, Matthew and Julianne. Great-grandpa of Hayden. Harry will be lovingly remembered by his sisters, Sr. Mildred Dietrich CSSJ and Mary and her husband Roman Voisin and sisters-in-law, Esther, Lorraine and Rosemary Dietrich. Also remembered fondly by the Runstedler family. Predeceased by his parents, Eugene and Elizabeth Dietrich; brothers, Anthony, Albert, Father Edward CR, Frank, Leo, George and Charles; sisters, Marcella Dietrich, Agnes Lorentz and Ann Meyer. Special thanks to the staff of Leisureworld Caregiving Centre, Elmira, the nurses of 3 East and Dr. John Campbell for their compassion. Harry was a life-long resident of St. Clements where he operated a dairy farm for 42 years. For those closest to him, his uniqueness was especially expressed in his love of design and machines, interests brought together in his classic car collection and in creative projects such as customizing his tractors and building a self-propelled forage wagon. His fondness for music also infused his life, whether in the barn, in the car, in his home or at church. Inspired by his strong faith, he took time to participate in his community; he was a member of St. Clement RC Church and a member of the Waterloo Knights of Columbus Council 5135. In both his public and family life, he was cherished for his strong principles, his warm sense of humour and his generous spirit. Friends are invited to share their memories of Harry with his family at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo on Wednesday, January 18, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Prayers will be recited at 9 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Harry's life will be held at Saint Clement RC Church in St. Clements on Thursday, January 19, 2006 at 11 a.m. with Father Robert Hetu as celebrant. Interment will follow in Saint Clement RC Cemetery. In memory of Harry, donations may be made to the Elmira and District Association for Community Living or the Right to Life and can be arranged through the funeral home.
