Mrs. Hilborn was born in England and came to Preston, 55 years ago, member of Knox Presbyterian Church. Resting at the Barthel-Stager Funeral Home, where funeral service will be conducted, Saturday, at 4 p.m. Interment in Hagey cemetery.

    HILBORN, George Thomas (Blackie) - Suddenly at Cambridge Memorial Hospital on Thursday December 18, 1997 in his 74th year. Beloved husband of Helen Hilborn. Loving father of Sandra Poll and her husband Earl, Carol Hilborn, Deborah Hilborn and Michael Hilborn and his wife Lori all of Cambridge. Cherished grandfather of Valerie, Wendy, Jeffery and his wife Julie, Vanessa, Kristen and great-grandfather to Connor, Jessica and Jenna. Dear brother of Marion West and Verna Peer both of Cambridge. Predeceased by his sister Beatrice Hennesey. Cpl. George T. Hilborn (Blackie) was a veteran of World War II serving in the Manitoba Dragoons and was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 126 (Preston). Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be sincerely appreciated by the family. Now in the arms of her soulmate, Don, who predeceased her in 1991 and her son, Colin (2003). Loving and devoted mother to Brian, Ken (Patti), Keith (Maria), Sherry (James) and Susan (Brad). Dearest grandmother to thirteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Verna will forever remain in the hearts of her brother, George, sisters, Beatrice and Marion, friends and family. Beloved wife of Rick Harold Haggett of Cambridge. Mother to Bill Doucet (Robyn). Grandmother to Dayton and Brady Doucet. Sister to Brenda MacBride (Bob). Special friend of Susan-Marie Lachapelle. Predeceased by her parents Percy West (1978) and Marion West (nee Hilborn) (2014). Linda was born in Kitchener, Ontario and lived her entire life in Cambridge. She was formerly employed at Golden Years Nursing Home for forty-four years as a health care aid. Linda enjoyed the company of friends and family and long conversations. Her hobbies were reading, crossword puzzles, and traveling. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her. Resting at Corbett Funeral Home , 95 Dundas Street N., Cambridge on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 from 2: 00 - 4: 00 p.m. and 7: 00 - 9: 00 pm. Funeral Service will be held from the chapel of the funeral home on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at 1: 00 p.m. Interment will follow at Parklawn Cemetery. In memory of Linda, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
