    Gerber.- Christian Z., son of Daniel Annie (Zehr) Gerber, was born near Crosshill, Ont., May 14, 1890; died at his home, Sept. 15, 1969; aged 79 y. 4 m. 1 d. On June 7, he was married to Magdalena Lichty, who survives. Also surviving are 3 sons (Ralph, Roy, and Murray), 8 grandchildren, one brother (Daniel), and one sister (Lena-Mrs. James Birmingham). He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. He was a member of the Maple View Church, Wellesley, Ont., where funeral services were held Sept. 18, with Alvin Leis and Chris 0. Erb officiating.

    Christian Gerber

    Christian Z. Gerber of Crosshill died on Monday of last week at his home. Mr. Gerber was 79.

    Born in Wellesley Township, May 14, 1890, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Gerber. He farmed in Wellesley Township before retiring to Crosshill in November, 1968.

    He was a member of the Maple View Mennonite Church.

    One brother and one sister predeceased him.

    Surviving, besides his wife, the former Magdalena Lichti whom he married June 7, 1923, in Wellesley Township, are three sons, Ralph and Murray, both of Crosshill, and Roy of RR 1, Millbank; one brother, Daniel of Wellesley; one sister, Mrs. .lames (Lena) Birmingham of Crosshill and eight grandchildren.

    Funeral services were held Thursday at Maple View Mennonite Church.

    Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at the Futher Bros. Funeral Home, Wellesley, until noon Wednesday, July 28, when removal will be made to Shantz Mennonite Church for the service at 2: 3 p.m. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery.

On Sept. 10, 1919, he was married to Clara Ann Schlabach, who survives. Sadly missed by her 26 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren. Annie was predeceased by two granddaughters Lorie and Sherylyn in infancy, sisters Rachel and husband Ervin Bender, Ida and husband Ezra Stere, brothers Emanuel and wife Clara Ann Gerber, Aaron and wife Mary Gerber, Elmer Gerber. Family and friends may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron, New Hamburg on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A public Interment will take place on Monday, May 17, 2004 at 1 p.m. at St. Agatha Mennonite Church Cemetery followed by a celebration of Annie's life at 2: 30 p.m. at Steinmann Mennonite Church, Baden. Much loved mother of Kelly and grandmother of Kristie (Jon) and Paul. Pee Wee was predeceased by her mother Vietta, sister Doreen, and brother Stewart. Also sadly missed by Doug Hallman of Kitchener and Susan Fernandas of Florida. Pee Wee was known as the voice of Uniroyal Chemical of Elmira for 45 years. Upon retiring, she became owner of Kelly's Classic Touch for an additional 15 years. Visitation for family and friends will be held at Robert Ruggle Funeral Home, 617 King St. N., Waterloo on Friday, January 15, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service celebrating Pee Wee's life will take place in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Catherine Hunsberger officiating.     The death took place at his home on Hall Street, Ayr on Tuesday, April 20, 1999 of Neil Harley Stere. He was in his 59th year. Born in East Zorra Township he was a son of the late Ida Gerber and Ezra Stere. Neil was employed at J & R Hall Transport, Ayr. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Ina; his daughter, Pamela and her husband Jeff Hall and his son, Jeffery, all of Ayr; two grandsons, Cody and Dylan Hall; two brothers, Orval and his wife Carol of Innerkip and Verle and Sharon of Calgary; one sister, Ruth Ann and her husband Robert Miller of Stratford; his mother-in-law Arnetta Youngblut and his brothers and sisters-in-law, Carol and Ken, Ken and Lynn, Paul, Janice, John, Alan, Susan and Bill, Sonya and Lyle, Kathy and Dave, Nancy and Tony and Mary Beth. Neil is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his father-in-law Lloyd Blum. Funeral service was held at the Ayr Chapel, Wm. Kipp Funeral Home on Friday, April 23 at 1: 30 p.m. Pas-tor Susan Johnson officiated. Interment was in Ayr Cemetery. Pallbearers were Marvin Stere, Jim Miller, Jamie Dance, Ken Mogk Jr., Steve Blum and Mike Pullen.

    On Friday, July 10, 1981, at her home, 211 Ahrens St., Kitchener, formerly of Crosshill. She was born in Alma township 38 years ago.

    She was a member of the Crosshill Mennonite Church and was an employee of the March of Dimes Rehabilitation Centre for the past five years.

    Beloved daughter of Rev. Steven and Edna Gerber of RR 1, Millbank; granddaughter of Mrs. Jacob (Lydia) Albrecht, of RR 1, Millbank; dear sister of Rev. Gary Gerber of Hamilton, James and Andrew, both of RR 1, Millbank and Marlene (Mrs. Melvin Lichty) of New Hamburg, Betty Lou (Mrs. Thomas Gilchrist) of Waterloo and Ruth Ann (Mrs. Elvern Biehn) of RR 4, Listowel. Lovingly remembered by two nieces and seven nephews.

    Visitation at the Futher Bros. Funeral Home, 40 Henry St., Wellesley, until noon Tuesday, July 14, when removal will be made to the Crosshill Mennonite Church for the funeral service at 2: 30 p.m., Rev. Irvin Erb and Rev. Alvin Leis officiating. Interment in Rush's cemetery, Wellesley township. Expressions of sympathy to the Mennonite Central committee.
