    LINWOOD - Funeral of August P. Schlueter, 76, who died Thursday at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Elam Bowman of Mannheim, will be held Saturday at 2:30 pm at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Linwood.

    Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery with Rev. Walter Goos officiating. The body will be at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor, Elmira, until Saturday at 10:30 am when removal will be made to the church. Friends are requested to pay their respects prior to the service.

    Born near Linwood, Dec. 26, 1876, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Schlueter. He lived in the Linwood district until a year ago when he moved to live with his daughter. Mr. Schlueter was a member of St. Peter's church.

    Surviving are four sons, Albert of Linwood; Norman and Nelson of Newton and Harry of Moorefield; five daughters, Augusta of Crosshill, Mrs. Elam (Gertrude) Bowman of Mannheim, Mrs. Harold (Nellie) Vogel of Heidelberg, Mrs. Alvin (Margaret) Gingrich of Kitchener and Mrs. Robert (Elsie) Cherry of Moorefield; three brothers, Charles of Elmira and Herman and John of Linwood district and 30 grandchildren.

    His wife, the former Emma Duench, died in 1932. Two sons, two sisters and three brothers also predeceased him.

    SCHLUETER, Augusta - Peacefully, on Monday, Nov. 1, 1993 at Martin's Rest Home, Elmira, Augusta Schlueter, in her 88th year, of Elmira.

    Daughter of the late August and Emma Schlueter, Augusta was born May 5, 1906 in Linwood and was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church.

    Dear sister of Gertrude Bowman of Mannheim, Margaret and Alvin Gingrich of Kitchener, Albert Schlueter of Waterloo and Harry Schlueter of Fergus. Also, remembered by her nieces and nephews.

    Predeceased by her parents, four brothers, and two sisters.

    The family will receive friends at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, today (Tuesday) from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. At noon on Wednesday transfer will be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Linwood, for funeral service at 2 pm, with rev. David Lowe officiating, followed by interment in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery.

    Predeceased by her loved husband Elam. She will be sadly missed by her loving sons Albert and his wife Ardiss of Galt, Ted and his wife Catherine of Route Two Desboro, Roy of Kitchener and Lloyd and his wife Sharon also of Kitchener. She will be fondly remembered by her twelve grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. Survived by her brother, Harry Schlueter of Fergus and sister, Margaret and her husband Alvin Gingrich of Kitchener.

    Predeceased by her son Daniel Herbert Bowman, 5 brothers and 3 sisters.

    He was born in Wellesley township 79 years ago, a son of the late August Schlueter and the former Emma Duench. He had worked for John Gray and Duncan Malcolm for most of his working life. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Linwood and a member of the Milverton Senior Citizens.

    Beloved husband of the late Sarah Reist who predeceased him July 29, 1986. Dear father of John of Listowel, David and his wife Sheila of Waterloo. Lovingly remember by one grandson, James; two brothers, Albert of Waterloo, Harry of Fergus and three sisters, Augusta Schlueter, Mrs. Gertie Bowman, both of Mannheim and Margaret (Mrs. Alvin Gingerich) of Kitchener.

    Passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2009 at the Wellington Terrace Home for the Aged, Fergus in his 90th year. Ted will be sadly missed by his brothers Albert (Dorothy) of Cambridge, Roy (Sharon) of Mapleton Township and Lloyd of Cambridge. He was predeceased by his brother Daniel and his parents Elam and Gertrude (Schleuter) Bowman. A memorial service celebrating Ted's life will be held at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Sullivan Township on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 11 a.m. Memorial donations to Owen Sound Regional Hospital Foundation, St. Peter's Lutheran Church, R.R. #1 Desboro or St. James Lutheran Church, Mannheim would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.     Of 4607 King St., E. Kitchener, on Thursday, Aug. 12, 1993, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, in his 52nd year. Loving son of Gertie Bowman of Manhein, dear father of Kevin and his wife Janet, Gary and his wife Marlene, all of Cambridge, David and his wife Christine of Waterloo, Michelle and her husband Trevor Paranyi of Cambridge. Lovingly remembered by six grandchildren: four brothers, Albert and his wife Ardiss of Cambridge, Ted and his wife Cathy of RR 2, Desboro, Roy and Lloyd and his wife Sharon, all of Cambridge. Predeceased by his father, Elam Bowman in 1975. Mr Bowman was born in Yatton, Ont. and was a lifelong resident of the Kitchener-Waterloo area. He was an independent transport truck driver. A member of the Church of the Nazarene and the Full Gospel Business Men's Association. The family will receive friends at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Rd., Cambridge, Saturday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral and committal service will be conducted at the Preston Church of the Nazarene, Hamilton Street, Cambridge, Sunday, Aug. 15, 1993, at 3: 30 p.m., with Rev. Glen Reeder officiating.
