    Passed away on Thursday September 6, 2012 at Forest Heights Long Term Care, Kitchener. She was born 102 years ago in Wellesley Township and was the daughter of the late Christian Z. & Veronica (Boshart) Roth.

    Beloved wife of the late Simeon W. Jantzi who predeceased her in 1973. Loving mother of Ruth Leis of Waterloo, Wesley Jantzi & friend Margo of McGregor, Louise & Ralph Gingerich of R.R. # 1 St. Agatha, Ken Jantzi of New Hamburg, Bill & Lucille Jantzi of Petersburg, Simeon Jantzi of Waterloo, Maryann & Ralph Steckley of Wellesley. Sadly missed by 27 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren. Remembered by sisters Erma Roth, Eileen & David Roth, Viola Wagler, brother-in-law Leon Shantz, sisters-in-law Cora Roth, Miriam Nafziger and Edna Jantzi. Mary Ann was predeceased by a son John in infancy, daughters-in-law Gail Jantzi, Marjorie Jantzi, son-in-law Allen Leis, 3 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, sisters, brothers, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Sarah & Ohmer Gerber, William Roth, Annie & David Jantzi, Mahlon & Mary Roth, Samuel & Anna Mae Roth, Laurene & Ivan Nafziger, Omar Wagler, Ruth Shantz, Tobias & Annetta Jantzi, Elias & Laura Jantzi, Aaron & Emma Jantzi, Benjamin Jantzi, Samuel Jantzi and Irvin Nafziger. Mary Ann was a member of the Restored Church of God. She enjoyed gardening, quilting and spending time with her family.

    Family and friends may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg on Sunday September 9, 2012 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.. A private family interment will take place on Monday September 10, 2012 at Rush's Cemetery, Wellesley Township. The memorial service to celebrate Mary Ann's life will follow at Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, New Hamburg at 2: 30 p.m. with Mr. Gary Goebel officiating. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the Restored Church of God or the charity of one's choice.

Predeceased by his wife, Anna Mae Lichti Roth, April 15, 1997. Father of Sherrie and her husband Gary McLaughlin of Victoria, B.C. Survived by his sisters and brothers, Mary Jantzi of Waterloo, Erma Roth of Kitchener, Eileen and her husband David Roth of Wellesley, Viola Wagler of Gadshill, William and his wife Cora Roth of Gadshill and Mahlon Roth of Wellesley. Predeceased by his sisters, Laurene (Ivan) Nafziger of Brunner, Sarah (Ohmer) Gerber of Wellesley, Annie (David) Jantzi of Wellesley, and Ruth (Leon) Shantz of Kitchener and sister-in-law, Mary Roth.     RUTH SHANTZ (nee Roth) 1933 - 2007 Ruth passed away, after a lengthy, but courageous battle with cancer, at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital on Saturday, September 8, 2007, at the age of 73. Beloved wife and best friend of Leon for almost 49 years, married October 11, 1958. Devoted and loving mom to Perry Shantz and Penny Penticost and her husband John, all of Kitchener. Ruth will be missed by her grandbabies Kylie, Brooke, and Joel Penticost. Survived by sisters and brothers, Mary Jantzi; brother-in-law, Ohmer Gerber, William Roth (Cora), Mahlon Roth, Erma Roth, Samuel Roth, Eileen Roth (David), Viola Wagler. Predeceased by her parents, Christian and Veronica Roth; sisters, Sarah Gerber, Annie Jantzi, and Laureen Nafziger; two sisters-in-law, Mary Roth and Anna Mae Roth, and four brothers-in-law, Simeon Jantzi, David Jantzi, Ivan Nafziger and Omar Wagler. Ruth is also remembered by Leon's brothers and their spouses, Vernon Shantz-deceased (Ruth), Glen and Betty Shantz, Carson and Gail Shantz, Peter and Wendy Shantz. Will also be remembered by her many "Roth" and "Shantz" nieces and nephews and their families. For 22 years, Ruth was a dedicated school bus driver for Shantz Coach Lines and volunteered her spare time at Nithview Home in New Hamburg and the Out of the Cold Program at Benton Street Baptist in Kitchener. A special thank you is extended to Kelly and the other CCAC Nursing Staff, Dr. Kontakos, Dr. Williamson and nurses at Freeport and our First Mennonite Church family for their incredible support and guidance throughout this journey.     Passed away suddenly at his home in New Hamburg, on Monday, May 6, 2013. Ken was born 73 years ago in Wellesley Township and was the son of the late Simeon W. & Mary Ann (Roth) Jantzi.

    Beloved husband of the late Marjorie (Gingerich) Jantzi who predeceased him September 3, 2011. Loving father of Pat & Paul Luckhart of Baden, Sheila Jantzi of Serpent River, Bob & Sherri Jantzi of Tavistock, Peggy Sue Haskell of Guelph. Special Grampa of Sam Luckhart & fiance Ara, Chris Luckhart, Jon Medina & friend Sheena, Rosie Medina, James Nesbit & friend Taylor, Phoebe & husband Dean Steckley, Jarris Jantzi & friend Amanda, Lacey Jantzi & friend Jamie, Cassidy Jantzi & friend Christina, Katie Haskell & friend Tyler, Alissa Haskell. Dear brother of Ruth & Allan (predeceased) Leis of Waterloo, Wesley Jantzi and friend Margo of Leamington, Louise & Ralph Gingerich of RR#1 St. Agatha. Bill and Lucille Jantzi of Petersburg, Sim Jantzi of Waterloo, Maryann & Ralph Steckley of Wellesley. Predeceased by a grandson Nicholas Jantzi in infancy and a sister-in-law Gail Jantzi.

    He was an active member of Hillcrest Mennonite Church, New Hamburg. Ken and Marjorie were members of the Guys and Dolls Square Dancing Club for 40 plus years.

    Friends and relatives may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg Wednesday May 8, 2013 from 7-9 p.m. and again Thursday May 9, 2013 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The interment will be held on Friday May 10, 2013 at the 19th Line Mennonite Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. A memorial service to celebrate Ken's life will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Hillcrest Mennonite Church, New Hamburg.     Simeon Jacob Jantzi

    May 30, 1942 - February 10, 2023

    It is with sadness that we share the news of Simeon's passing at the age of 80 on the morning of Friday, February 10, 2023, at Columbia Forest Long Term Care in Waterloo, where he lived for the past year. Simeon bravely faced health challenges after his cancer diagnosis several years ago. His passing was due to cardiac arrest caused by a heart attack with cancer being a contributing factor. Much loved son of the late Simeon W. and the late Mary Ann (Roth) Jantzi. Brother of Ruth Leis, Louise and her husband Ralph Gingerich, Bill Jantzi, Maryann and her husband Ralph Steckley. Predeceased by brothers John (in infancy), Wesley Jantzi and his partner Margo as well as his former wife Gail, Ken Jantzi and his wife Marjorie, brother-in-law Allen Leis and sister-in-law Lucille Jantzi. Simeon was part of a large extended family and will be remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends. Born on May 30, 1942 outside of Linwood on the family farm, Simeon continued to live there for many years prior to moving to Waterloo, Wellesley and then spending his final year at Columbia Forest Long Term Care in Waterloo. He was a carpenter by trade, specializing in framing, and enjoyed helping family and friends with small carpentry projects. For many years, he provided support and care to his widowed mother. His faith was strong, and he loved spending time discussing and researching family genealogy. We would like to express our thanks to the team of caregivers at Columbia Forest Long Term Care for their assistance provided to Simeon. A visitation will take place on Sunday, February 19th from 2 to 5 p.m. at Futher-Franklin Funeral Home, 1172 Henry Street, Wellesley. A spring interment will take place at Rushes Cemetery. Pastor Larry Cockshutt officiating. Thank you to Futher-Franklin Funeral Home in Wellesley for their compassionate support during this difficult time. As an expression of sympathy, donations to a Charity of Your Choice would be appreciated.
