    Notes:

    Nafziger.-Elizabeth, daughter of the late Peter Erb, was born in Waterloo Twp. Ont., Aug. 23, 1890; died at the Kitchener-Waterloo Hospital, after a lingering illness, Sept. 25, 1947; aged 57 y. 1 m. 2 d. On Jan. 13, 1915 she was married to Enos Nafziger, who survives. Also surviving are one son (Harry, Preston, Ont.) and one daughter (Ruth, at home). Two children (Wilheim and Marion) predeceased her. Early in life she accepted Christ as her Saviour and was a regular attendant at the Erb Street Mennonite Church, Waterloo, Ont. Funeral services were conducted by J. B. Martin. Text: Rev. 8: 28-39.

    Memorial service for the late Marion Nafziger, 24-year-old Mennonite nurse, who died enroute to Calcutta, will be held at the Erb St. Mennonite Church, Waterloo, Sunday at 2: 15 p.m. The service will be public. Representatives of the Mennonite Central Relief Committee, Akron, Pa. will attend. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernos Nafziger, 189 Erb St. W., Waterloo, Miss Nafziger died at a Singapore Hospital Monday following an appendectomy.

    Nafziger.--Marion Elizabeth, daughter of Enos and Elizabeth Erb Nafziger, was born at Milverton, Ont., Aug. 10, 1921; died at Singapore, China, on her way to India as a relief worker, July 8, 1946; aged 24 y. 10 m. 28 d. Her death was caused by pneumonia, which set in following an emergency appendectomy. She was a member of the Erb Street Mennonite Church, Waterloo, Ont., and was a devoted Christian who served her Lord faithfully. Memorial services were held at Waterloo, in charge of the pastor, J. B. Martin, assisted by Nelson Litwiller, Argentina, S. A.; Cornelius Rempel, Kitchener, Ont.; and H. S. Bender.

    Marion Nafziger was born 10 August 1921 to Enos and Elizabeth Erb Nafziger. She was one of four children. Her parents were members at Erb Street Mennonite Church in Waterloo. She attended high school both locally and at Eastern Mennonite High School in Harrisonburg, Virginia. After high shool graduation, she did nurses training at Kitchener-Waterloo Hospital, graduating in June, 1945. She received a Mennonite Central Committee assignment to work at the Relief Unit in Calcutta, India. Marion and her coworker Mildred Shoemaker sailed on 27 April, 1946. On 24 June, the ship landed in Singapore and she developed a fever. Marion and Mildred were put ashore, and Marion was diagnosed with appendicitis. Mildred was not allowed to remain in Singapore because she had no visa, and the two were separated. Apparently, she did not have the operation. The circumstances of her death remain somewhat mysterious. She died on 8 July 1946 and was buried in Bdadari Cemetery outside of Singapore in a grave marked

    Nafziger. - Ruth Erb, daughter of Enos and Elizabeth (Erb) Nafziger, was born near Milverton, Ont., Oct. 26, 1931; died at the Kitchener-Waterloo Hospital in Ontario, April 5, 1948; aged 16 y. 5 m. 9 d. Death followed a brief illness of measles and pneumonia. As a child she accepted Christ and united with the Erb Street Mennonite Church, Waterloo, at the age of twelve. She had a radiant faith and unique qualities of Christian character for a person of her age. One sister (Marian) predeceased her at Singapore, en route to India in July, 1946. Her mother also predeceased her, in September, 1947. Surviving are her father and one brother (Harry, Freeport, Ont.). Funeral services were conducted by Merle Shantz at the Erb Street Church. Interment was made in the Waterloo Church Cemetery.
