    ROPP, Emanuel -Passed away peacefully, on Saturday, April 14, 2007 at Nith View Home in New Hamburg. Emanuel resided at RR 1, Wellesley, (Lisbon). He was born in Wellesley Township 89 years ago, son of the late John Ropp and the late Emma Roes. Emanuel was a member of Faith Mennonite Church. He farmed on Streicher Line, retiring from the farm in 1973. Beloved husband of Annie (Brenneman) Ropp whom he married April 14, 1979. Dear father of Edith and her husband Gerald Martin of Waterloo, Irene and her husband Paul Hansen of Brooks, Alberta and David and his wife Janet Ropp of Millbank. Brother of Elmer and Edna Ropp of Brunner, Esther Gerber of New Hamburg, Adeline and Elmer Erb of Millbank and Barbara and Joseph Kennel of New Dundee. Brother-in-law of Milton Roth. Cherished grandpa of Julie Martin, Jennifer and Ben Hofstede, Kevin and Scott Hansen, Sonja and Ken Porfoun, Nadine, Katie and Leanne Ropp. Great-grandpa of eight. Predeceased by his first wife, Mary Gerber, 1977; by two brothers, Daniel Ropp and Samuel Ropp in infancy, also by a sister, Clara Roth and a brother-in-law, Joseph Gerber. Visitation at the Futher Bros. Funeral Home, 1172 Henry St. in Wellesley where family and friends will be received today (Monday) 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. At 9 a.m. Tuesday removal will be made to Faith Mennonite Church in Kingwood for the funeral service Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at 1 p.m. Pastors Paul Yantzi, Larry Jantzi and David Roth will officiate. Burial will follow in the Cedar Grove Amish Mennonite Cemetery. Memorials to Faith Mennonite Church Building Fund or to the Mennonite Central Committee would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

    GERBER, Esther (nee Ropp) - Peacefully, at Nithview Home in New Hamburg, surrounded by family, on Friday, September 18, 2009, in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late Joseph W. Gerber (1995). Loving mother of Ron and his wife Marie of Wellesley, Vernon and his wife Elaine of New Hamburg, and Eileen and her husband Earl Steinmann of Wellesley. Dear grandmother of Patty, Krista, Bonnie, Connie, Terry, Shane, Holly and eight great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her sisters, Adeline (Elmer Erb), Barbara (Joe Kennel); her brother, Elmer Ropp; sister-in-law, Annie Ropp; and brother-in-law, Milton Roth. Predeceased by her parents, John and Emma (nee Roes); her sister, Clara Roth; and brothers, Emanuel, Daniel, Samuel in infancy; sisters-inlaw, Edna Ropp and Mary Ropp. The family received friends at the Futher- Franklin Funeral Home, 1172 Henry Street, Wellesley on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Cedar Grove Amish Mennonite Church, Wellesley, today (Monday) at 2 p.m. Interment to follow in the Cedar Grove Amish Mennonite Cemetery.     Leis - Vera Gascho, daughter of John and Lydia Gascho, was born in Wellesley Twp., Ont., Aug. 18, 1924; died in a traffic accident at Waterloo (Ont.) Regional Hospital* on Jan. 6, 1989; aged 64 y. On Oct. 15, 1944, she was married to Leroy Leis, who survives. Also surviving are 3 sons (Wayne, Wesley, and Willard), one daughter (Donna McTavish), 12 grandchildren, one brother (Daniel), and 3 sisters (Clara Zehr, Katie Schwartzentruber, and Ruth Nafziger). Predeceased by her parents Amos and Sarah Ropp. Eva was a retired employee of the Forsyth Factory in Kitchener and Nithview Home in New Hamburg. She always enjoyed her summer weekends at her trailer in Bayfield.
