    JANTZI, MRS. DAVID (ANNIE) Peacefully, on Saturday, May 15, 1993, at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, Mrs. Annie (Gerber) Jantzi, of RR 1, Wellesley.

    Mrs. Jantzi was born in Wellesley township 89 years ago. She was the daughter of the late Daniel H. Gerber and the late Catherine Erb. Annie was a faithful member of the Cedar Grove Amish Mennonite Church.

    Beloved mother of Erma Jantzi, Marion and her husband Ernest Roth and Emma and her husband Emmanuel Lichty, all of RR 1, Wellesley; dear sister of Emma (Mrs. Ezra Brenneman) of Brunner, Katie (Mrs. Ezra Steckley) of Wellesley; sister-in-law of Edna Gerber of Wellesley, Laura Gerber of New Hamburg, Velma Gerber of New Hamburg and Sarah Horst of RR 3, Elmira. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Elaine and her husband Steven Cressman, Marilyn Lichty. Donald and his wife Barb Roth, Paul and his wife Martha Lichty, David Lichty and Larry Lichty,

    Predeceased by her husband, David W. Jantzi, September 3, 1968; by one son, Moses, and by one daughter, Katie, both in infancy; also by two sisters, Mary (Mrs. John Jantzi) and Lena (Mrs. Dan Brenneman) and by six brothers, Sam, John, Daniel, Christian, David and Amos, and by two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

    Visitation at the Futher Bros. Funeral Home, 40 Henry St., Wellesley, where the family will receive relatives and friends, today (Monday) and Tuesday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A family service will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 19, 1993, at 1 p.m., followed by the funeral service at the Cedar Grove Amish Mennonite Church at 2 p.m. Bishop Arthur Gerber will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Donations to the Mennonite Central Committee or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario, would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy for the late Mrs. Annie Jantzi.

    Samuel Gerber, 68, of Wellesley, died Thursday, February 14 at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener.

    Born in Wellesley Township, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Gerber.

    He farmed in Wellesley Township, retiring in 1969, and was a member of the Maple View Mennonite Church.

    He is survived by his wife, the former Edna Bast; two daughters, Mrs. Hans (Florence) Rasmussin of Milverton, Mrs. Arnold (Kathleen) Steckly, R.R. 1 Bluevale; four brothers, John, Daniel and Chris, all of Wellesley and David of New Hamburg; five sisters, Mrs. John W. (Mary) Jantzi of Millbank, Mrs. David W. (Annie Jantzi, Mrs. Daniel (Lena) Brenneman, both of R.R. 1 Wellesley, Mrs. Ezra (Emma) Steckly, and Mrs. Ezra (Katie) Steckly both of Wellesley; and four grandchildren.

    The body rested at the Futher funeral home, Wellesley, until noon Saturday when removal was made to the Maple View Mennonite Church for the service at 2: 30 p.m. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

He was preceded in death by one son (Lloyd), one brother, and one sister. He was a member of Maple View Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held on Sept. 12, in charge of Alvin Leis and Jacob Roes; interment in adjoining ceremetery

    GERBER, John E. Passed away Thursday, September 9, at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener. Born in Wellesley Township, 67 years ago.

    Son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Gerber. He was employed at the New Hamburg Felt Boot Company, retiring two years ago. He was also a member of the Mapleview Mennonite Church.

    Beloved father of Harold of Route 1, Wellesley, Mildred (Mrs. Kenneth Lichti), of Tavistock, Elsie (Mrs. Harold Lichti) of Route 1, New Hamburg; brother of Daniel and Christ, both of Wellesley, David of New Hamburg, Annie (Mrs. David Jantzi) and Lena (Mrs. Daniel Brenneman) both of Route 1, Wellesley, Emma (Mrs. Ezra Brenneman) and Katie (Mrs. Ezra Steckley), both of Wellesley; survived by 14 grandchildren; predeceased by his wife, the former Elizabeth Bast in 1974, also by one son, Lloyd, and one brother and one sister.

    Friends may call at the Futher Bros. Funeral Home in Wellesley, where the family will receive friends this evening, 7 to 9 and Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. At noon Sunday, September 12, the remains will be removed to the Mapleview Mennonite Church, for the service at 2: 30, Rev. Alvin Leis and Rev. Jacob Roes officiating. Interment to follow in the church.

    Peacefully, on Sunday, May 15, 1988, at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, Daniel Gerber of Nithview Home, New Hamburg, formerly of Wellesley.

    Dan was born in Wellesley township, 74 years ago. He was the son of the late Daniel R. Gerber and the late Catherine Erb. He was a member of the Wellesley Mennonite Church. He had farmed on the Fifth Line of Wellesley township, retiring to Wellesley in 1967.

    Beloved husband of the former Laura Lebold of Nithview, dear father of Norman of Heidelberg, Dorothy (Mrs. Bob Pearce ) of Ottawa, Alice (Mrs. Paul Yantzi) of RR 1, Shakespeare and Elsie Gerber of Kitchener; dear brother of Chris Gerber of Wellesley, David Gerber of New Hamburg, Annie (Mrs. David Jantzi) of Wellesley, Lena (Mrs. Dan Brenneman) of Lisbon and Emma (Mrs. Ezra Brenneman) and Katie (Mrs. Ezra Steckley), both of Wellesley. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Heidi and Heather Yantzi and Tim and Christina Pearce.

    He was predeceased by one sister, Mary and two brothers, John and Samuel.

    Visitation at the Futher Bros. Funeral Home, 40 Henry St., Wellesley, where the family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. At noon Wednesday, May 18, removal will be made to the Wellesley Mennonite Church for the funeral service at 2: 30 p.m. Pastor Gerald Schwartzentruber will officiate. Interment will follow in Rush's cemetery, Wellesley township.

She will be sadly missed by her sisters and brothers; Annie Ropp, Vera and Dan Lichty, Dorothy and Delmar Lichti, Earl and Marilyn Brenneman, sisters-in-law; Ella Mae Schmidt, Norma Mast, Mary Gerber, brother-in-law Murray and Karen Jantzi. Predeceased by her parents Daniel Brenneman and Magdalena (Lena) Gerber, brothers and sisters-in-law; Emmanuel Ropp, Melvin Jantzi, Mahlon Gerber, Elmer Mast, John Wagler, Elmer Schmidt and Alice Jantzi. Mary will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was a faithful member of Cedar Grove Amish Mennonite Church. Mary was a resident of Knollcrest Lodge for the past five years and we thank them for all the care and attention she received there and as well at the Stratford General Hospital.     GERBER, Norman L. Passed away at his home in Heidelberg on Thursday, January 28, 2010 in his 67th year. Dear brother of Dorothy Pearce (Bob), Alice Yantzi (Paul) and Elsie Gerber. He will be missed by his nieces and nephews, Heidi Bailey (John), Heather Yantzi (Charlie Wettlaufer), Tim Pearce, Christina Pearce. Dear great-uncle to Selina and Noah Bailey. Predeceased by his parents, Dan (1988) and Laura (1999) Gerber. Norm worked as a road equipment mechanic in his early years. He was a long-time employee of the City of Kitchener in the Transit Department and then became an employee of the Region of Waterloo ten years ago when Grand River Transit was formed. He was a fleet supervisor at the GRT depot on Strasburg Road until his retirement several years ago. Norm had a reputation as a very dedicated worker and had excellent rapport with the mechanics and service staff who reported to him. Norm was our brother and uncle and we will miss him. He will also be missed by his best friends and neighbours, Larry and Lynn Bast and their sons, Kyle and Wesley. Norm's family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, January 30, 2010 from 6-9 p.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home , 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467. A private family service will take place on Sunday. Interment will take place at the Rush's Cemetery in Wellesley.
