    Shantz, Selina, daughter of Amos and Esther (Cressman) Shantz, was born March 22, 1877, in Wilmot Twp., Ont.; died at Kitchener, Ont., Dec. 11, 1958, after a lengthy illness; aged 81 y. 8m. 19 d. On Dec. 12, 1900, she was married to Herbert Shantz, who died Feb. 28, 1955. Surviving are 4 daughters (Orpha-Mrs. Vernon Woolner, Lona-Mrs. Joseph Martin, Erma-Mrs. Stanley Snider, and Wilma-Mrs. Martin Horst), 12 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and 3 sisters (Maggie, Barbara, and Elminda Shantz). Preceding her in death were 5 brothers and 2 sisters. She was a member of the Erb Street Church, Waterloo, Ont., where services were held, in charge of Wilfred Ulrich and J. B. Martin.

    SNIDER, Mrs. J. Stanley (Erma) -- At the South Waterloo Memorial Hospital, on Friday, February 3, following a lengthy illness, Erma Shantz, age 72 years, of 515 Langs Dr., Cambridge (P). A member of Listowel Mennonite Church, she had a lifelong interest in Christian education and the W.M.S.C. Beloved wife of J. Stanley Snider, dear mother of Paul of Ayr, James of Cambridge, Kenneth of Route 2, Atwood, Robert of Dungannon, Mrs Howard (Miriam) Cressman of Cambridge, Mrs. William (Audrey) MacDonald of Owen Sound, Mrs.Elmer (Lucille) Ellison of Route 2, Moorefield; sister of Mrs. Martin (Wilma)Horst of Kitchener, 15 grandchildren also survive. Predeceased by one daughter, Mary Carol and two sisters, Orpha and Lona. Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, after noon Saturday until Sunday at 11: 30 a.m., when removal will be made to the Listowel Mennonite Church for funeral and committal service at 2: 30p.m., Rev.     Snider, Erma, daughter of Herbert and Selina Shantz, was born in Waterloo Co., Ont., July 11, 1905; died at Cambridge (Preston) Ont., Feb. 3, 1978; aged 72 y. On Sept. 4, 1929, she was married to J. Stanley Snider, who survives. Also surviving are 3 daughters (Miriam Mrs. Howard Cressman, Audrey Mrs. William MacDonald, and Lucille Mrs. Elmer Ellison), 4 sons (Paul, James, Kenneth, and Robert), 15 grandchildren, and one sister (Mrs. Wilma Horst). She was preceded in death by one daughter and 2 sisters. She was a member of the Listowel Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held on Feb. 5, 1978, in charge of Brian Laverty and Herbert Schultz; interment in Mannheim Mennonite Cemetery.

    SNIDER, Paul Stanley (1931-2009) Passed away suddenly at Cambridge on Saturday, December 26, 2009, at age 78. Beloved husband of Dorothy (Byler) for 46 years. Loving father of David and his wife Amy. Dearly loved Papa to Jillian, Katie and Kean. Dear brother of Miriam Cressman and her late husband Howard, Audrey (William) MacDonald, James (Janice) Snider, Kenneth (Marie) Snider, Lucille (Elmer) Ellison and Robert Snider. Paul was a life long resident of the Kitchener area and was self-employed in the tax preparation business and an active member of Preston Mennonite Church for more than 44 years. He had also been a Kiwanian for many years and very interested in MEDA. Paul was a great supporter of his grandchildren's activities - hockey, dance and tennis. The family will receive friends at the Barthel Funeral Home , 566 Queenston Road, Cambridge on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at 1 p.m. from Preston Mennonite Church, 791 Concession Road, Cambridge. Proud grandmother of Trayvon, Jaden, Caleb (Jenica), Brianna, Seth, Charis (Ryan), Cai, Jacob, Luke and Maisie and great-grandmother of Leland and Ezra.     SNIDER. - Mary Carol, daughter of Stanley and Erma Snider, died Nov. 5, 1935; aged 10 m. 13 d. She is survived by her parents, 2 sisters (Miriam and Audrey), 1 brother (Paul), and by her maternal and paternal grandparents. She was ill for nearly 2 weeks, contracting bronchial pneumonia. Though her stay with us was short, she is greatly missed in the home, for her sweet smile shed a constant blessing about her. Funeral services were held Nov. 7 at the home and at the Latschar Mennonite Church near Petersburg, Ont., conducted by Bro. J. W. Witmer and Bro. M. Hallman. Text, Isa. 11: 6. Her little body was laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery.

    SNIDER, James H. James H. Snider died at home on the evening of November 7, 2016 surrounded by family. He was well cared for by CCAC Hamilton PSWs and VON nurses, Janice (Lambke), his loving wife of 57 years, and his four children; Judy Mitchell (Lee Stevens), Tim Snider (Joyce Richardson), Jennifer Dmytrus (Steve) and John Snider (Amanda). He is dearly loved by his eleven grandchildren. James Snider was the son of the late J. Stanley Snider and Erma Shantz Snider. Jim lived his faith through his actions. He was passionate about his family, surgery, farming and service to others. A loving father, he has always been supportive and proud of his children, all of whom have benefited from his love, intelligence, kindness and humour. Dr. Snider's professional life at Cambridge Memorial Hospital included stints as Chief of Surgery and Chief of Staff, where he enjoyed many enduring relationships with staff and patients. Service to others included building relationships through Refugee Sponsorships and medical work in Africa and Central America. Jim was a committed member of Wanner Mennonite Church where he served in many capacities, developing friendships with all ages. Jim loved to farm and found great joy in caring for his cattle and working his fields. Always a family affair, farming with him was an opportunity for children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends to learn, grow and work together. He will be greatly missed. Visitation is on Friday, November 11 from 5-8 p.m. and Saturday, November 12 from 1-3 p.m. The Memorial Service will follow at 4: 30 p.m. All events will be held at Wanner Mennonite Church.
