Mrs. Nathan Clemmer - Following a long illness Mrs. Nathan Clemmer passed away Tuesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. David Bowman near Waterloo in her 68th year. Surviving are her husband; five sons, Manasseh and Onias of Peel township, Jonas and Nathan of Waterloo, and Abe of Kitchener; two daughters, Mrs. Allan Buehler of Preston and Mrs. David Bowman who resides on the old homestead, near Waterloo. The funeral is being held this (Friday) morning at 9.30 from her home to Martin's Mennonite church.

Mrs. Israel Weber, of RR 1, St. Jacobs died Tuesday at the home of her son, Israel, after a lengthy illness. She was 92. Born in Woolwich Township, May 25, 1876, she was a daughter of the late Bishop Abraham and Mrs. Martin and had always lived in the township. Her husband predeceased her Aug. 7, 1952. Surviving are five sons, Henry and Josiah, both of RR 2, Waterloo, Mannasse, RR 1, Wallenstein; Israel, RR 1, St. Jacobs, and Amos of RR 1 Elmira; one daughter, Mrs. Tilman (Susanna) Frey of St. Jacobs, 26 grandchildren and 74 great-grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her family having been predeceased by three brothers and six sisters. The body was at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor, Elmira, until Thursday noon when removal was made to the home of her son Israel of RR II, St. Jacobs. A service was conducted at the home on Friday at 8: 30 a.m. and then to Conestogo Mennonite Meeting House for further service. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.

ISRAEL BEARINGER

Funeral service for Israel Bearinger, 71, of RR 1, Elmira, who died Sunday at the K-W Hospital after a lengthy illness was held Wednesday. The body rested at his home where a private service was conducted at 9:30 a.m., followed by a public service in Elmira Mennonite Church. Interment was in the adjoining cemetery.

Mr. Bearinger is survived by his wife, the former Hannah Martin. His first wife, the former Sarah Bauman, died in 1936.

Also surviving are five daughters. They are Mrs. Manassah (Lovina) Frey, RR 2, Elmira; Miss Leah at home; Mrs. Jeremiah (Selinda) Martin of Heidelberg, Mrs. Ananias (Annie) Bauman, RR 3, Wallenstein, and Mrs. Nelson (Sarah) Brubacher, RR 1, St. Jacobs. There are also two step-sons, Laverne Martin, RR 2, Wallenstein, and Wilfred Martin, RR 2, Alma, and five brothers, one sister, and 25 grandchildren. A daughter, Mrs. Eli (Susannah) Reist and a brother, Jonas, predeceased him.

Mr. Bearinger was born in Waterloo Township, a son of the late Noah Bearinger and the former Nancy Martin. A member of Pioneer park Christian Fellowship. Formerly owned and operated Parkway Feed Mill for many years.

He was predeceased by his wife, the former Elvina Shantz, in 1945; a son Urias (Riley), October 8, of this year; a granddaughter Carolyn Ruth Bowman and by five brothers and one sister.

Surviving are three daughters, Vera (Mrs. Delton Martin) of Elmira, Almeda (Mrs. Leonard Snider) of Waterloo, and Doris (Mrs. Harold Bowman) of Kitchener, and a son, Vernon Bearinger of Waterloo; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Martin of Elmira; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, until noon on Tuesday when removal will be made to the Pioneer Park Christian Fellowship Church, 68 Biehn Drive (off Huron Road), formerly Strasburg Mennonite Church, for funeral and comital service at 2:30 pm with Rev. Darrell D. Jantzi officiating. Interment in the family plot in First Mennonite Cemetery.

ABRAHAM BEARINGER

Abraham Bearinger of RR 1, Wallenstein died Friday at Kitchener Waterloo Hospital after a brief illness. He was 80. He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Noah Bearinger. His wife, the former Leah Weber, predeceased him in 1958. Surviving are four sons, Henry, Sidney and Noah, all of RR 1, Wallenstein, and Amsey RR 6, Mount Forest; two daughters, Mrs. Amon (Salome) Bauman, RR 1, Wallenstein, and Mrs. Elam (Minerva) Wideman, RR 1, St. Jacobs, three brothers, Noah and Osiah, both of Elmira, and David, St. Jacobs; one sister, Mrs. Ivan (Elizabeth) Martin, Elmira, 39 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was predeceased by three brothers. The body was at the Dreisinger funeral parlor until 2 p.m. Sunday when removal was made to the home where service was conducted at 9 am. Tuesday. Removal was then made to the South Peel Mennonite meeting house for a further service. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Sept. 5 for the late Oziah M. Bearinger, who passed away Monday. September 2, 1974.

The deceased who died in his 80th year, is survived by his wife Susanna, sons, Ivan, Abner, and Cleason, daughters Mrs. Noah (Lucinda) Bauman, Mrs. Leonard (Lovina) Bauman, Mrs. Emanuel (Annie) Bowman and Mrs. Orlan (Edna) Martin, sisters Mrs. Ivan (Lizzie) Martin brother David Bearinger, 40 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A private service at the Bearinger home Thursday afternoon was followed by a service at the Elmira Mennonite Meeting House. Interment, adjoining cemetery.

Wendell Martin, Aged 48, Victim of Pneumonia. - Funeral Largely Attended.

Mr. Wendell Martin, aged 48 years, died suddenly on Sunday, a victim of pneumonia. The late Mr. Martin, who resides on the farm, the old homestead, just on the northern outskirts of Elmira was taken ill on Wednesday. He leaves to mourn him besides his wife, two sons and two daughters. His aged parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jonas Martin, two brothers, Norman near Elmira and Amos near Floradale, four sisters, Mrs. Amos Martin of near West Montrose, Mrs. Oliver Shantz of near Yatton, Mrs. Amassa Martin of near Floradale and Mrs. Alvin Martin of near Waterloo.

The funeral took place on Wednesday morning from his late residence to the Elmira Mennonite Church for services. Interment was made in the Elmira Mennonite cemetery.

MARTIN, Cecil - Peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 10, 2005, at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, Cecil Martin, in his 68th year, of Elmira.

Beloved brother of Erla and Oscar Weber of St. Jacobs, Homer and Melinda Martin of RR1, Elmira. Fondly remembered by his niece Valerie and Norman Catlos, two nephews, Rodney and Karen Martin, Geoffrey and Laurie Martin and great nieces and nephews, Alex, Erika and Natalie, Amanda, Tori and Meghan, Scott and Kate.

Predeceased by his parents, Amos S. and Magdalena Martin. The family .will receive friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A family interment will be held at the Elmira Mennonite Cemetery on Sunday, February 13, 2005. A memorial service for family and friends will be held at Bethany Evangelical Missionary Church, 160 Lancaster St. E., Kitchener on Sunday, February 13 at 3 p.m., with Pastor Don Smith officiating.

It is with sadness that we share the passing of Almeda Snider on May 22, 2010 at the age of 89. She is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Hackett of Kitchener; a son, Mark (Kim Market) of North Bay; and a daughter, Jane (Larry Nafziger) of Ottawa; also a sister, Doris Bowman and brother-inlaw, Harold Bowman, and sister-inlaw, Marjorie Bearinger. She will be missed by grandchildren Zakary Nafziger, Hannah and Abram Snider, step-granddaughter Adwenna Peters. She was predeceased by her husband, A. Leonard Snider (2001); her parents David and Elvina (Shantz) Bearinger; two brothers, Riley and Vernon and his twin sister, Vera. As a member of Erb St. Mennonite Church for many years, Almeda enjoyed meeting with the women's groups there and serving in several positions on the executive. She also worked on the library committee at the church for a number of years. She will be remembered for her interest in current affairs, her love of gardening and flowers, and her love of travel. The many quilts she made for her children are a tangible reflection of her heritage. Abner Weber, of RR 1, Wallenstein, was the beloved husband of Elizabeth (Steckle) Weber. Loved father of Ruth (Nathan) Yutzy, Raymond (Anna), Kenneth (Mary), Karen (Amsey) Brubacher, Arnold (Elizabeth), Doris Stewart, and Marvin (Sharon). Loved grandfather of 40 grandchildren and 52 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by parents Ceranus and Melinda (Shantz) Martin, his first wife Lydia (Brubacher) Martin (2015), daughter Hannah Martin, one granddaughter, one great-granddaughter, sister Susannah and Elo Martin, and brother-in-law Mervin Martin.

Visiting will take place at the family home, 1230 Jigs Hollow Road, West Montrose on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 from 5 - 8 p.m., and on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 from 12 - 4 and 5-7 p.m. A family service will be held on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at the home, followed by burial and public service in Winterbourne Mennonite Cemetery.

MRS. ERMA DETTWILER (nee Cressman) 1930 - 2007 Erma departed this earth, at Pinehaven Nursing home, on Wednesday, July 25, 2007. Erma was the daughter of the late Daniel W. and Magdalena Cressman. In her early teens, it was her desire to become a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ and was baptized into Christian Fellowship and remained faithful throughout her life. In 1953, Erma and Mahlon Dettwiler were united in marriage. Her life lives on, as she was a loving and devoted mother to Wesley (Janet) Dettwiler, Charlene Hudson, Debra (Arthur) Dettweiler and Andrea (Dennis) Freund. A dear grandmother to Benjamin and Deeanna Dettwiler, Kyle Hudson, Christopher and Brent Dettweiler and Autumn, Hannah and Carter Freund. Erma suffered many years with the crippling diseases of Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and Osteoporosis. She fought them valiantly. In December 2005, she moved to Pinehaven Nursing Home which became her new home. She was welcomed by all. Her responsibilities included putting things in their proper place and tiding up, which she did as long as she was able to walk. She never complained or asked about home. As a family, we sincerely thank Dr. Pope, the nurses, the staff and caregivers for the love and care they provided Erma. For this we are truly thankful and wish you God's abundant blessing. The family will receive friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home in Elmira on Thursday, July 26 (today) from 7-9 p.m. and Friday, July 27 from 2-4 p.m. only. At 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 28, transfer will be made to Elmira Mennonite Church for funeral service at 1: 30 p.m. with Rev. Fred Redekop officiating. CURTIS (CURT) MARTIN CRESSMAN 1935 - 2010 After being diagnosed with cancer four weeks ago, Curt passed away, peacefully, at his home in Elmira on Saturday, March 20, 2010, at the age of 75. Survived by his wife of almost 53 years, Rebecca (nee Metzger); his children, Keith and his wife Sandra of Elora, Clare and his wife Lois of Elmira, Lorrie Grigg and her husband Nelson of Kitchener, and Scott and his wife Melanie of Essex.
