    Died At Berlin, Ontario, Saturday, February 14th, 1914, at 11 p.m. David W. Schaefer Born in St. Jacobs, Ontario, June 5th, 1862. Aged 51 years, 8 months and 2 days. The Funeral Will take place from his late residence, 203 Breithaupt Street, on Wednesday, February 18th, 1914, at 1.30 p.m. to St. Peter's Lutheran Church for services, thence to St. Jacob's Lutheran cemetery for interment. Friends and acquaintances will please accept this intimation.

    SUDDEN DEATH OF D. SCHAEFER

    Well Known Resident Passes Away at his Home in his 52nd Year

    David Schaefer, a well known resident of the city died suddenly his home, 203 Breithaupt street at 11 o'clock on Saturday night. He had been in ill health for some time but the immediate cause of his death was an attack of elipsy. Mr. Schaefer was in his 52d year. His sudden demise came as a great shock to members of the family, friends and relatives.

    The deceased was a native of Waterloo County having been born in St. Jacobs. He had made Berlin his home for about seven vears and was engaged in the painting business. He leaves a sorrowing widow, who was formerly Eliza Stroh, and three children living at home, viz; Anne, Willian, and Viola. There are two brothers Alfred Schaefer of Berlin, and Edward Schaefer of Hespeler, and four sisters, Mrs. J. Cress, St. Jacobs, Mrs. Sydney Schelly, Waterloo, Mrs. Henry Gillis and Mrs. William Heller of St. Jacobs.

    Mr. Schaefer was a highly respected citizen and was a good father and husband.

    The funeral will be held on Wednesday afternoon at 1.30 from the home to St. Peter's Lutheran church, thence to St. Jacobs where interment will take place.

    On the evening of January 11th there died here, as noted in last issue, Nelda Letitia, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Schaefer, at the age of 4 years, 7 months and 28 days. The interment took place on the afternoon of January 12th, on the Lutheran cemetery, Rev. O. Liuke[?] officiating. The sorrowing parents have the sympathy of the entire community in their sad bereavement.

    [Translation: In Memory of Nelda Letitia Schaefer daughter of David Schaefer and wife died the 11th of January 1906 in St. Jacobs. Funeral 12th of January. Interred the 28th of January Aged 4 years, 7 months and 28 days. "I lie and sleep completely in peace For Thou, alone, Lord, art my help, my safe home."
