    Notes:

    Mrs. Magdelene Heer, 77, of 2 South St., Elmira, died Monday, June 20, in St. Mary's Hospital after a lengthy illness.

    Born Nov. 15, 1882 in Heidelberg, she had lived in Breslau for 40 years. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Westfall and was a member of Cressman Mennonite Church.

    Her husband, John R. Heer, died April 20, 1938.

    Surviving are four sons, Albert of St. Jacobs; Simon and Jacob of Breslau and Moses of Kitchener; three daughters, Miss Agnes Heer and Mrs. Seleda Orth of Elmira and Mrs. Frank (Eleanor) Clark of Kitchener; five sisters, Mrs. Lucinda Wilkie of Bloomingdale, Mrs. Christina Brubacher of St. Jacobs, Miss Amanda Westfall, Mrs. David Martin and Miss Catherine Westfall of Elmira, 21 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

    She was also predeceased by a son and a daughter.

    The body is at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home until Thursday at 11 a.m. when removal will be made to Cressman Mennonite Church where friends may pay their respects until service at 3 p.m. Rev. Carl J. Rudy of Breslau and Howard Bauman of Elmira will officiate. Burial will be in Cressman Mennonite Cemetery, Breslau.

    Heer, Albert William, son of John and Magdalena (Westfall) Heer, was born in Waterloo Co., Ont., Aug. 1, 1909; died at the Kitchener-Waterloo Hospital, Dec. 27, 1986; aged 77 y. On Dec. 24, 1935, he was married to Rose Sully, who died on June 28, 1967. On Oct. 3, 1969, he was married to Elmina Lichty Martin, who died on Nov. 16, 1970. Surviving are 2 daughters (Mary Metzger and Reta Garner), 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grand-children, one brother (Jacob), and one sister (Eleanora). He was preceded in death by one son (Frederick), 2 sisters (Agnes Heer and Seleda Orth), and 2 brothers (Simon and Moses). He was a member of St. Jacobs Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held on Dec. 30, in charge of Richard Yordy; interment in St. Jacobs Mennonite Cemetery.

    Moses Heer

    Rev. Carl Wagner officiated at Grace Lutheran church, Kitchener, on Monday for the funeral of Moses Heer, 50, of Kitchener, who died Friday at St. Mary's hospital. Burial was in Mount Hope cemetery, Kitchener.

    Born in Kitchener, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Heer, he lived in the twin-city area all his life.

    He served with the RCAF during the second world war.

    Surviving besides his wife, the former Velma Rolls, are four sons, Barry of Kitchener, Keith, Grant and Mark all at home; three brothers, Albert of St. Jacobs, Simon of Kitchener and Jacob of Breslau; three sisters, Agnes of St. Jacobs, Mrs. Martin (Seleda) Habermehl of Drayton and Mrs. Frank (Eleanor) Clark of Kitchener.

Great-grandfather of Kentessa, Merissa and Quinten. Brother-in-law of Fred Musselman of Toronto, Earl Musselman of Alma and Jack Musselman of R.R. # 4 Arthur. Predeceased by his parents Otto and Seleda (Heer) Orth, one nephew Shawn Musselman and sister-in-law Nancy Musselman. To honour George's wishes Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 from 12: 30 p.m. until time of Memorial Service at 2: 00 p.m. at the Heritage Funeral Home , Drayton. Rev. Jeff McCracken will conduct the Memorial Service in the Funeral Home Chapel at 2: 00 p.m. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Palmerston Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family

    Resting at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King St. South, Waterloo after 7 p.m. today for services in the chapel Saturday at 2 p.m., Rev. Carl L. Wagner of Grace Lutheran Church, Kitchener, officiating.

    Interment Mount Hope cemetery, Waterloo.
