HARVEY J. SCHMIDT
Harvey J. Schmidt, 60, of North Woolwich, died Monday after a short illness at the K-W Hospital. Born in North Woolwich Township, April 6, 1886, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Andrew D. Schmidt. In 1912 he married the former Hannah Miller. He had lived in the North Woolwich district his entire lifetime. R. Schmidt had been an Elmira Signet correspondent for a number of years.
Surviving are his wife, two daughters, Gladys and Mrs. Irvin, (Rhoda) Snyder, both at home, a brother Oscar of Elmira and a sister Gertrude, a registered nurse of Toronto.
The remains rested at the Dreisinger Funeral Chapel, Elmira where funeral service was held on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. Burial was made in the Elmira Cemetery. Rev. E. N. Mohr of Elmira Zion Evangelical Church officiated.

Harvey married Hannah Jane Miller 1912. Hannah (daughter of Benjamin Miller and Magdalena Margaret Bender) was born 26 Aug 1889, Woolwich Twp., Waterloo Region, Ontario, Canada; died 8 Dec 1957, Kitchener, Waterloo Region, Ontario, Canada; was buried , Elmira Union Cemetery, Elmira, Waterloo Region, Ontario, Canada. Miss Gladys Schmidt died suddenly at home of her sister, Mrs. Irvin (Rhoda) Snyder, RR 1, Elmira, Sunday.

She was 45. She was born in Woolwich Township March 26, 1914, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Schmidt, and was a member of the North Woolwich Evangelical United Brethren Church.

Miss Schmidt is survived by her sister.

The body is at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, where the funeral will be conducted in the chapel at 3 pm, Wednesday, by Rev. E.N. Mohr. Burial will be in Elmira Cemetery.

Peacefully, on Sunday, June 29, 2003 at KW Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, Rhoda (Schmidt) Snyder, age 87 years, of Elmira.
Beloved wife of the late Irvin L. Snyder, who predeceased her May 4, 1985.
Loving mother of Fred Snyder of Waterloo, Rodney Snyder of Elmira, and Steven and Marlene Snyder of RR1 Elmira. Fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Sherry (Bill), Jamie (Allison), Angela, Elizabeth, Laura and Victoria and great-grandchildren, Jayden, Chelsea, Sabrina, Justis and Tyler.
Predeceased by her parents, Harvey and Hannah (Miller) Schmidt, one brother, Ralph (in infancy) and one sister, Gladys Schmidt.
Rhoda was a long-time member of the Woolwich Agricultural Society, a life-time member of the Woolwich Everfaithful Women's Institute and a faithful member of St. James Lutheran Church, Elmira.
The family will receive friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, Monday, June 30, 2003 (today), 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. At noon on Tuesday transfer will be made to St. James Lutheran Church, Elmira, for funeral service at 2 p.m. with Pastor Hans Borch officiating, followed by interment in St. James Lutheran Cemetery.

Suddenly, on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at his home in Waterloo. Rodney Snyder age 57 years formerly of R. R. 1, Elmira. Son of the late Irvin and Rhoda (Schmidt) Snyder. Brother of Fred (Sue) of Ladysmith, Vancouver Island, Steven and Marlene of R. R. 1, Elmira. Lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews and their families. Rodney enjoyed reading, bird watching and helping out on the family farm. Special thanks to friends and neighbours at Green Acres Park, Waterloo. The family will receive their friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, on Friday from 7-9 p.m. where funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, October 31st at 11 a.m. with Pastor Hans Borch officiating followed by cremation. In his memory, donations to Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
