    Mrs. Charles Bergman

    Following a lingering illness, Mrs. Charles Bergman died Saturday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. P. Rominger, Park Avenue. Mrs. Bergman was in her 80th year. Born in North Woolwich, Mrs. Bergman had lived in Floradale and Toronto before coming to Elmira four years ago. She is survived by her husband, to whom she was married 58 years ago. Also surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Rominger, Elmira, Mrs. W. Goheen, Prince George, B.C., Mrs. Glen Swanton and Mrs. George Wright, Detroit, and Mrs. Victor Sloan, Kitchener; one son, Charles of Toronto; two brothers, John and Louis Miller of Elmira; one sister, Mrs. Jacob Bird of Elmira; one sister, Mrs. Jacob Bird of Elmira, and 20 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Private funeral services will be held from the home of her daughter, Park Avenue, on Thursday (today) afternoon. Public service will be held at Zion Evangelical church with Rev. C. H. Cornwell officiating, assisted by Rev. W. J. Zimmerman, former pastor of the deceased at Toronto and Floradale, and Rev. H. A. Kellerman, D.S. Pallbearers are Earl Miller, Wellington Weber, Milton Miller, Sylvester Bowman, John Schweitzer and John Westfall.

    MRS. EMMA ROMINGER

    Mrs. Emma Rominger died Friday at the Hotel Dieu in Windsor. She was a widow of Philip Rominger, formerly of Elmira, who predceased her six years ago. A daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bergman, she was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Elmira.

    Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Ayler (Verna) Steuernal of Wing ham; Mrs. Carl (Viola) Forler of Kitchener; Mrs. Russell (Helen) Snider of Windsor and Miss Verta Rominger of Petersburg; three sons, Charles of Elmira, Rudolph of Kitchener and Harry of Welland Junction; two sisters, Mrs. G. Swanton of Detroit and Mrs. Erma P. Sloan of Kitchener; one brother, Charles Bergman of Toronto. Fifteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.

    The funeral was held Monday at the Dreisinger Funeral Chapel here at 2:30 with Rev. Frank Malinsky officiating. Burial Cemetery. was at Elmira

    ELMIRA - Mrs. Emma Rominger died today at the Hotel Dieu in Windsor. She was a widow of Philip Rominger, formerly of Elmira, who predeceased her six years ago.     Funeral service for Mrs. William Neufeld. 55, of 53 Riverside Drive. New Hamburg, who died Saturday at K-W Hospital.was held Tuesday at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home. Rev. John Korcok of St Paul's Lutheran Church in Kitchener officiated. Interment followed in Woodland cemetery born in Elmira. Aug. 13. 1912. she was the former Verta E. Rominger and a daughter of the late Mr and Mrs. Philip Rominger. She came to New Hamburg from Stratford two years ago.

    Mrs Neufeld was a member of St, Paul's Lutheran Church. Elmira.

    Besides her husband, to whom she was married in 1946. she is survived by a daughter. Mrs. Robert (June) Wright of Stratford; three brothers. Rudy of Kitchener Charles of Elmira, and Harry of Welland, three sisters. Mrs. Russell (Helen) Snider and Mrs. Carl (Violet) Forler. both of Kitchener, and Mrs. Elmer (Verna) Steuernol of Wingham: and three grandchildren.

    Visitation at the Schreiter Sandrock Funeral Home and Chapel, 51 Benton at Church St., after 7 p.m. tonight, (Thursday), continuing until Saturday, when funeral services will be held from the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m., Rev. Roger Winger officiating. Interment Woodland cemetery.

    CLARENCE SLOAN OBITUARY

    Clarence E. Sloan, 88, of Holliston St. died Sun. Nov 16, at his home. His wife Mona P. (Keenan) Sloan died in 2005.

    He is survived by his son, Victor Sloan and his wife Marie of Uxbridge; a daughter, Diane Boltas and her husband Ronald of Irving, TX; 4 grandchildren; a brother, Harold Sloan and 2 sisters, Grace Baer and Colleen Hofstetter all of Canada; and several nephews and nieces.
    Born in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, on Feb. 26, 1920 he was the son of the late C. Victor and Erma (Bergman) Sloan and has lived in Medway since 1972. Clarence and his wife came to the U.S. in 1950, after they where married. Mr. Sloan was a chemical engineer at Teller Environmental Services in Worcester and retired in 2006 from Adesa Auto Auctions in Framingham. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening.

    His memorial funeral service will be held on Mon. Dec. 8, at 11 a.m. in Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd., Uxbridge, MA. A calling hour will be held on Mon. Dec. 8 from 10 to 11 a.m.

    Peacefully on Friday, July 15th, 2022 at the age of 98. Born April 5th, 1924 in Kitchener and living all her life in Kitchener -Waterloo.
    Family was very important to Grace, and she was the very proud mother of her three sons and their wives, Dr. Douglas Baer (Ursula Benoit) of Victoria, BC, Dr. Allan Baer (Kathy) of Kingston, Ontario, and Ronald Baer (Cathy) of Kitchener, Ontario. Also survived by her sister, Colleen Hofstetter. Loving grandmother of Heather Baer (Diego), Dr. Carolyn Baer (Alex), Simon Baer (Jenny), and Angela Baer. Predeceased by her husband Willis Baer, her parents, C. Victor Sloan and Erma (Bergmann) Sloan, and brothers Clarence "Ted" Sloan, and Harold Sloan.

    A member of St. James Rosemount United Church and a life and charter member of the U.C.W.

    Grace attended Suddaby School and served on the Executive of the former Home and School Association. She also attended Kitchener-Waterloo Collegiate. Grace worked in various secretarial positions throughout her career, including Imperial Life, the Credit Bureau of Kitchener-Waterloo, Burns Canada, and the legal firms of Edward Bradley, and Lackenbauer, Hertzberger.

    Grace volunteered her time to many organizations. She was also on the executive of the Scout Ladies Auxiliary, and the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation. A member for many years of the Waterloo Horticultural Society, Grace enjoyed sharing both her plants and her talent for sewing with others.

    She and her husband travelled extensively, and visited many countries. These travels were shared with others through showings at the Kitchener Public Library.

    Grace enjoyed her stay and the many friends she made at her new homes of Waterloo Heights and Lanark Village, and was always thankful for the caring and supportive staff. She was an inspiration to her family and friends, with a strong will to live, and determination and fighting spirit to stay strong.

    Grace's family will receive relatives and friends from 12-12:45 p.m. on Monday, August 1, 2022 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Memorial Service in the Chapel on Monday, August 1, 2022 at 1 p.m. Those unable to attend may view Grace's service on Monday via the following live stream link https://www.henrywalser.com/live-streaming.

    Reception to follow. A private interment will take place at Woodland Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Osteoporosis Canada or St. James'-Rosemount United Church would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
