Mrs. Sylvester B. Bauman, 63, of Floradale died at her home Friday, April 28, after a short illness. The former Edna Martin, she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ezra F. Martin of Wellesley Township. Surviving are her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Sylvester (Verna) Snyder of Drayton; a son, Oscar, of Drayton; two sisters, Mrs. Aaron (Irene) Diefenbacher of Wallenstein, Mrs. Amos (Luella) Brubacher of Minden, Ont; three grandchildren. The body was at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor, Elmira, until Monday. Removal was made to the home where a private service was held. A public service was then held at the North Woolwich Mennonite Meeting House with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Brubacher, Luella Martin, daughter of Ezra and Blendina Martin, was born in Waterloo Co., Ont., Sept. 18, 1912; died of cancer at Kitchener, Ont., Jan. 4, 1987; aged 74 y. On June 18, 1933, she was married to Amos Brubacher, who died on Sept. 16, 1986. Surviving are 3 daughters (Margaret Frey, Elsie Martin, and Audrey Brubacher), one son (Donald), and one sister (Irene Diefenbacher). Funeral services were held at Floradale Mennonite Church on Jan. 7, in charge of Virgil Gingrich and Lester Kehl; interment in Floradale Mennonite Church Cemetery.

Luella Brubacher

Funeral service will be held tomorrow (Wednesday) at 2pm at Floradale Mennonite church for Luella Martin, of 601 Duke street, Cambridge (Preston). She died January 4, 1987, at St. Mary's hospital. She was 74.

She was the mother of Margaret (Mrs. Vernon Frey), of Alma, Elsie (Mrs. Leo Martin), of Elmira, Donald Brubacher, of Sebringville, and Audrey Brubacher, of Orillia; sister of Irene (Mrs. Aaron Diefenbacher), of Wallenstein; also survived by 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grand-children; predeceased by her parents, Ezra and Blendine Martin, and one sister, Edna Bauman.

Visitation at the Barthel-Stager Funeral Home, Cambridge, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm today (Tuesday). Burial will be in Floradale Mennonite cemetery.

BOWMAN, Vera Peacefully went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, April 14, 2013 at the Grand River Hospital, in her 80th year. Vera Bowman (nee Diefenbacher), of Floradale, was the beloved wife of the late Abner Bowman (2005). Loved mother of Karen and Jamie Gaul of Stratford, Gloria and Ken Martin of Elmira. Loving grandmother of Jason Haut of Elmira, Jeremy and Kristine Haut of Blackie, AB, and Rose Lawrence of Stratford. Dear sister of Edward and Gladys Diefenbacher of Drayton, Walter and Florence Martin of Elmira, Elaine Frey of St. Jacobs, Earl and Esther Diefenbacher of Alma, Doris MacKenzie of Naniamo, BC, and sister-in-law of Elvina Diefenbacher of Wallenstein. Also remembered by her sisters-in-law Almeda Krieger, Edna (Vernon) Shoemaker and Viola Lichty. Predeceased by her parents Aaron and Irene (Martin) Diefenbacher, sister Aleda Diefenbacher and brother Lorne Diefenbacher. Vera was a faithful member of Floradale Mennonite Church and was very involved with all food service activities. She was well known to many for her Christmas baking and was often called the "Cookie Lady". Visitation for relatives and friends will take place at Floradale Mennonite Church on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. A memorial service to celebrate Vera's life and faith will be held at Floradale Mennonite Church on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at 2 p.m. The casket will remain open at the church until 1: 40 p.m. Family interment will be in the Floradale Mennonite Cemetery prior to the service. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Grand River Regional Cancer Centre or House of Friendship.
