    BYE, MARGARET ANN

    A funeral service was conducted on Saturday, Aug. 18 by Rev. I.R. Ingleby for Margaret Ann Bye, formerly of RR 1, West Montrose, from the Driesinger Funeral Chapel, Elmira.

    Mrs. Bye died Aug. 15 at Groves Memorial Hospital, Fergus at the age of 81.

    Born in West Montrose, she was the daughter of the late William John and Mary Eliza Ann Letson. She was a lifetime member of West Montrose United Church.

    She is survived by one son. Murray of Vernon. B.C.. daughters Mary of Guelph. Eleanor, Jean and Hilda of RR 2, Ariss and sister Sadie Israel of West Montrose.

    She leaves 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband William George and two sons William Stewart and George Nelson. Pallbearers were Bill Somers, Edgar Letson, Pere Jonas, Harold Penfold, Paul Bruder and George Davies.

    Interment was at West Montrose Cemetery.

    Man Dies In Car Stuck In Snow At West Montrose

    A 29-year-old West Montrose district farmer, William Stewart Bye, was found asphyxiated in his car Tuesday, February 12, after the vehicle became stuck in a lane leading to his parents' farm house.

    When he was found, the car radio was still playing but the engine had stopped. Death was attributed to carbon monoxide poisoning.

    Bye is reported to have driven the car through a field and then become stuck in the lane. Fumes apparently seeped through when he tried to drive the car out. The switch was still on when found. Guelph Provincial Police investigated.

    He lived with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Bye, Pilkington Township, Wellington County, and was born in Elora August 6, 1922.

    Besides his parents he is survived_ by a brother, Murray, Vancouver; four sisters, Mrs. Gerald McLellan, Guelph; Eleanor Frances, at home; Jean, nurse-in-training at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener; Hilda, at home.

    The body was at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor. Service was held in the chapel Saturday at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. W. M. B. Metcalfe of West Montrose United Church officiating. Burial was in West Montrose Cemetery.

    MARTIN, Mary (nee Bye) After a courageous struggle with heart disease, Mary passed away on Monday, February 16, 2015, at Grand River Hospital. Mary at the age of 86 years, of Elmira formerly of Green Acre Park in Waterloo and RR 3, Wellesley, was the beloved wife of Ephraim Martin. Dear mother of Susan and Scott Metcalfe of Waterloo; Sandra and Tom Parkinson of Eramosa Township; and step-mother of Richard Martin and Jackie Roy of Breslau; Diane and Maynard Bauman of Listowel; Harold and Lynn Martin of RR 3, Wellesley; Robert and Heather Martin of RR 2, Petersburg; and Bruce Martin and Pam Fehr of Waterloo. Loving grandmother of Christa and Todd Hebert, Lindsay Parkinson and Matt Carpentier, Katelin Parkinson and Tyler Robinson, Chris and Julie Perkes, Lisa Martin, Scott and Melanie Martin, Stephen and Shannon Martin, Michael Martin, Jamie-Lynn Martin, and Wesley Martin. Proud great-grandma of Ashlyn and Jacob Hebert, Elle Perkes, Scarlett, Charlie and Ana Martin, and Hannah Martin. Sister of Jean Goodwin and Hilda Wright. Predeceased by her parents George and Margaret (Letson) Bye, brothers Bill and Murray Bye, and sister Eleanor Flannery. The family will receive their relatives and friends at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira on Sunday, February 22, 2015 from 1-5 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday, February 23, 2015 at 11 a.m. Interment at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.
