    Notes:

    Albert Krauter, a Heidelberg district farmer for many years, died Friday at his home after a brief illness. He was 88. A native of Heidelberg, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Christian Krauter. He was a member of Heidelberg Evangelical U.B. Church.

    His wife, the former Mary Metz, died in 1932. Surviving are three sons, Allen, Dauphin, Man.; Edwin, Q'Appelle, Sask., and Emerson of Heidelberg; two daughters, Mrs. Walter Maurer, Elmira, and Mrs. Edna Weaver, Kitchener; 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

    The body was at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, Kitchener, until noon Sunday when removal was made to the residence. The funeral was held at the residence at 2 p.m., Tuesday, followed by service at Heidelberg Evangelical U.B. Church at 2: 30. Rev. A. E. Pletch officiated and interment was at Hillside Cemetery, Heidelberg.

    HEIDELBERT, March 24 - Albert Krauter, a district farmer for many years, died yesterday at his home after a brief illness. He was 88. A native of Heidelberg, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Christian Krauter. He was a member of Heidelberg Evangelical U.B. Church.

    His wife, the former Mary Metz, died in 1932. Surviving are three sons, Allen, Dauphin, Man., Edward, Q'Appelle, Sask., and Emerson of Heidelberg; two daughters, Mrs. Walter Maurer, Elmira, and Mrs. Edna Weaver, Kitchener; 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

    The body will be at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, Kitchener, until noon Sunday, when removal will be made to the residence. The funeral will be held at the residence at 2 pm, Tuesday followed by service at Heidelberg Evangelical U.B. Church at 2: 30. Rev. A.F. Pletch will officiate and interment will be at Hillside Cemetery, Heidelberg.

    At St. Mary's Hospital on Friday, Oct. 15, 1971, Emerson John Krauter, lifelong resident of Heidelberg, formerly employed at Canada Barrel and Kegs Limited, age 75 years. Husband of the late Adelphine Otterbein, father of Roy and Marie (Mrs. Wilfred) Lindner of Kitchener, Clifford, Waterloo, and Erla (Mrs. William Wilkie), Bridgeport. Brother of Ella (Mrs. Walter Maurer) Elmira, Edna (Mrs. Lincoln Weaver), Kitchener, and the late Edwin and Allen. Nine grandchildren and one great-grandson also survive. Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King Street West until 11 a.m. Monday, when removal will be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Heidelberg. Funeral service in the church at 3 p.m. Interment St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery. Donations to the building fund of the church may be made as expressions of sympathy.

    Maurer, Vernon L. - Peacefully, on Monday, Jan. 17, 2000, at Country View Retirement Home, RR 3, Listowel, Vernon L. Maurer, in his 88th year, of RR 1, Elmira.

    Beloved husband of the late Gertie (Zimmerman) Maurer. Loving father of John and Donna Maurer of Alma, Joan and Bob MacDonald of Donegal and Jim Maurer of RR 1, Elmira. Fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Jonathan and David Maurer, Crystal Schmidt and Terry and Leanne MacDonald and three great-grandchildren, Jessica, Vanessa and Taylor.

    Predeceased by parents, Walter and Ella Maurer.

    The family will receive friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, today (Tuesday) 2 - 4 and 7-9 p.m. At noon Wednesday transfer will be made to the Florodale [sic] Mennonite Church for funeral service at 2: 30 p.m., with Pastor Fred Redekopp officiating, followed by interment in the Florodale Mennonite Cemetery. In his memory, donations to the Mennonite Central Committee would be appreciated by the family as expressions of sympathy.
