    Notes:

Joseph Bury, Dealer in Fancy Groceries, Provisions, Canned Goods, etc - The people of Berlin and surrounding country should not want for groceries, for they have many good stores to supply their wants. Among the later established in this line is Mr. Joseph Bury, whose store is located on King Street. This gentleman started business eight months ago, and by the superior quality of the goods kept, including the choicest brands of teas from China and Japan, fragrant coffees from Java, Rio and South America, hermetically sealed goods, table delicacies, condiments, pure spices, provisions, etc., and by a splendid display of the stock in a well appointed store, which is 16x60 feet in dimensions, and by selling on the lowest margin of profit, has built up an excellent trade, which is rapidly extending. Mr. Bury is agent for Hamburg and French lines of steamers, and parties desirous of visiting the Old Country can make all arrangements with him on the most satisfactory terms, and save trouble in New York. Mr. Bury is a native of Canada, and is an enterprising, progressive and capable business man, who thoroughly understands the wants of the public.

    REMOVAL

The old firm of C.Kranz and Son have removed to the new block, erected by Mr. Mayor Kranz. The old building in which this Firm has done business for nearly a quarter of a century was put up by Mr. Samuel Roether in 1850. Though it has since then undergone numerous changes and improvements, it must now give way still more to the march of improvement, as it has been purchased by Mr. Mogk, who will change the entire front and make two first-class stores of it, lowering the first flat to a level with the sidewalk. The splendid new double store which Mr. Kranz now occupies is one of the finest in town. Each of the stores is 20 x 80 feet, has a plate-glass front and fitted up with all the modern improvements, the one still vacant being rented to Smythe Brothers, who will also move in a few days. Mr. Kranz has fitted up in the rear of his store a splendid office, with vault attached, where his Insurance and General Exchange and agency business will be conducted. Now that this old established business is removed to better and more spacious quarters it will no doubt expand into much larger proportions. Mr. Joseph Bury, so well known for his genial and courteous bearing, is still the head clerk and manager of the mercantile department. We wish it every possible success.
