Joseph Dietrich Dies In South Easthope

Joseph Dietrich died on Tuesday morning at the home of his son, Edward Dietrich, lot 3, concession 21, South Easthope. He was in his 87th year, born in South Easthope on November 4, 1856, a son of the late Joseph Dietrich and Regina Mayers. For many years the departed man farmed in South Easthope. Twenty-one years ago he retired and lived for a time in Kitchener, later returning to South Easthope, to live with his son.

The deceased had been ill for several years. Over two years ago he suffered a stroke and had since been confined to bed. His wife died 11 years ago.

Surviving are three sons, Edward, South Easthope, Harry and Eugene, Kitchener, one daughter, Idella, Mrs. Joseph McDonald of Kitchener, six sisters, Mrs. Daniel Yausie, Tavistock, Mrs. Henry Petrie, South Easthope, Mrs. John Petrie, Stratford, Mrs. Jacob Hergott, Kitchener, Mrs. Jac. Mertz of Burlington, Mrs. Simon Bundscho, South Easthope, 13 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Three sons, Elroy, Joseph and Victor and one daughter, Mrs. Chas. Weiss, predeceased. Two sisters also predeceased him.

The late Mr. Dietrich was a member of the Roman Catholic Church, New Hamburg, where the funeral service will be held this Friday morning at 10 o'clock followed by interment in Mount Hope Cemetery, Kitchener.

Predeceased by her parents Elroy and Edith (nee Loebsach) Dietrich and step-father Otto Hauck one brother Lloyd Dietrich. Loretta was a member of St. Louis R.C. Church and the C.W.L for over 70 years. She enjoyed her time travelling and playing cards with the Waterloo Seniors Centre. DIETRICH, Ronald John Francis - Passed peacefully, at home in Tiverton, Ontario, with Barbara, his family and Bennie at his side, on Saturday, August 26, 2006. Born in Waterloo, on an October 23rd day, to parents, Lloyd (Butch) Dietrich and Marie Dietrich (Zinger) and elder brother of Robert. Ron Dietrich, attended St. Louis Catholic School, St. Jerome's Collegiate and then graduated from Lougheed Business College in Kitchener. After a brief employ with Tony Day Sweater Company, where he met and later married his beloved Barbara Rose Strome, Ronald embarked on a successful 34 year Sales Career with Meyer Mercer Industrial Equipment, based in Waterloo interacting with numerous local businesses and manufacturing companies. Always the avid sportsman, he was also involved in the origination of the Fur Management Course offered at local colleges in Ontario in coordination with the Ministry of Natural Resources where he was an Instructor for many years to promote humane trapping and education. Father to Lisa Rae (Derek) and Deanna Stan (James) and loving Grandfather and "Pa" to his four grandchildren, MacKenzie and Jessica Rae and Graham and Taylor Stan. Cherished son- in-law of Mary Strome of Waterloo. After living in Waterloo for over 50 years, Ron and Barbara relocated to Tiverton, Ontario in 1992, where they enjoyed their gardens, quiet country living around Lake Huron and for the next eight years Ron dedicated himself part-time as a well respected Bus driver for Laidlaw Transit supporting the Bruce Central school district. There will be no visitation per Ron's request. Friends and family are invited to attend the interment service to be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at 1: 30 p.m. at Parkview Cemetery, 335 University Avenue E., Waterloo. Cremation has taken place. Friends are invited to share their memories of Ron at the place, they spent all their time and found so much happiness together.
