    HERITAGE, THOMAS

Sudden Death of An Old Resident

Of Puslinch, near Hespeler, very suddenly, on Wednesday, May 2, 1883, aged 72 years, 9 months. He was working at the barn in the morning as usual, when Archie McAlister, with whom he was living, went to work in the field. Mr. McAlister had been only a few minutes at his work, when word came that there was something the matter with Mr. Heritage. He at once proceeded to the house but the old man was insensible and died three hours later. It appears that, when Mr. McAlister left him to go to the field, Mr. Heritage finished the job he was at, put the tools he had been using in their accustomed place and started for the house but fell upon the way but got up and reached the house. His wife, seeing something wrong, asked him what was the matter, when he answered "I am done for. " and never spoke again. Mr. Heritage was a kind-hearted, conscientious man without an enemy in the world. Interred in Hespeler.
