    BRUDER, Ralph Joseph - Born in Breslau on September 9, 1919 passed away peacefully at Lanark Heights Long Term Care Centre on Monday, May 5, 2008 in his 89th year. Loving husband of Doris Bruder (nee Offen) for 60 years. Survived by his sisters, Marjorie Ireland of Richmond Hill and Phyllis "Honey" Boppre (Larry) of Kitchener. He is also survived by 23 nieces and nephews and many friends. Predeceased by his parents, Clara (nee Reinhart) and Peter Bruder; brother, Maurice (Sally) and by his sister, Rita Gross (Rudy). Ralph worked in the hotel business most of his life. In 1928, at the age of nine, he started as a bell hop at the Windsor Hotel in Kitchener at which time was owned by his uncle, Charlie Bruder. He later worked at the Blue Top Brewery Company and in 1948 became an owner of the Melbourne Hotel in Simcoe, ON which he managed for 35 years. Ralph was a member of the Hotel and Motel Association, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and a honourary member of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus. He was actively involved in harness racing and was a honourary member of the Ontario Harness Horse Association. Ralph's family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home , 507 Frederick St., Kitchener. Ralph's funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at 3 p.m. followed by a reception. A private family interment will take place at St. Boniface Cemetery, Maryhill. The Family would like to thank the staff at Lanark Heights for all the caring and compassionate care given to Ralph. Beloved grand-mother to Bonnie, Charlie, Rebecca, Teddy James, Anna, Cameron and Sadie.     It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a wonderful women \endash Honey.

    Honey died surrounded by the love of her family on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital at the age of 80 years. Loving wife to Larry for 59 years. Precious Mom to Debbie (Brian) Lorentz, Donna (Tony) Germann, Diane (Larry) Aigner, Tony (Stephanie) and James (Claire). Kind and caring Gramma to Sheri, Sarah, Lee, Julia, Matthew, Michael, Chantelle, Michelle, Olivia, Caleb and to her special little Jaimee-Lee. Special Great-Gramma to Jackson and Carter Stoneman and Lana and Chyenne Aigner. Survived by her sister-in-law Marcie Winterhault. Also missed by many nieces and nephews and friends. Honey grew up in Breslau and was the daughter of the late Peter and Clara Bruder. She was also predeceased by her son-in-law John Strauss, her sisters Rita Gross and Marjorie Ireland, her brothers, Maurice and Ralph. Honey was a beautiful person who was known for her laugh. She loved to play her accordion for many gatherings and it was always enjoyed by many. She was a member of the St. Anne's social committee for 40 years. Mom loved to quilt and so enjoyed her friends from her Thursday morning quilting group. Honey loved to feed everyone, you could visit anytime and there would just happen to be a freshly baked pie ready.

    Honey's family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, September 23, 2012 from 2-5 and 7-9 pm at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Prayer vigil will take place at 4:45 pm on Sunday afternoon. Prayers will take place at 12:20 am on Monday, September 24, 2012 followed by procession to St. Anne's R.C. Church, 268 East Avenue, for a Funeral Mass at 1 pm..

    Immediately following the funeral mass a reception will take place in the reception room of the funeral home.

    Special thanks to the 3rd floor Palliative Care Team, Dr. Ward. Also thanks to the family, friends and neighbours for there visits, she truly enjoyed seeing you all. Especially we want to mention our Dad … what an inspiration you have been to all of us in the loving and caring way you took care of Mom . Thank you Dad.

    As expressions of sympathy donations to the Fabry's Society and Autism Research would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).

    After a courageous battle with Hodgkin's disease, at Toronto General Hospital, on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 1987, Ted Gross, in his 24th year. Loving son of Rudy and Rita Gross; loving brother of Tom and his fiance Nicole Piche of Sudbury, Peggy and her husband Brian Rogers, Pat and her husband Larry Lafranier and Paula and her husband Ben Spengen, all of Kitchener-Waterloo. Uncle Teddy will be sadly missed by nieces, Bonnie and Rebecca and nephew, Charlie. Ted will be fondly remembered by Terry-Lynn of Thunder Bay. Was predeceased by his grandparents, Frank and Agnes Gross and Peter and Clara Bruder. Ted was employed with the Thunder Bay Ambulance Service, was actively involved in minor sports and attended Cameron Heights and Conestoga College in Kitchener. The family will receive friends at the Westmount Funeral Chapel, 1001 Ottawa St. S. (at Westmount Road), Kitchener, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home Saturday morning at 9: 30 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at St. Joseph's RC Church at 10 a.m., Father Donald Sanvido will officiate. Interment Parkview cemetery. Parish prayers at the funeral home on Friday evening at 8 p.m.
