    Beloved father of Melvin of Cambridge, Howard of Guelph, Dorothy (Mrs. Joseph Franklin) of Kitchener. Also survived by one brother, Hector of Guelph and sister, Loretta (Mrs. A.J. Reinhardt) of Kitchener; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by one grand-son Bryan.

    Mr. Goetz was born in Maryhill, Ont., where he farmed for many years, moving to Cambridge in 1965. A member of St. Boniface Church, Maryhill.

    Rested at the Barthel Stager Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Rd., Cambridge (P), until Thursday morning, April 3, then to St. Boniface Church, Maryhill, for Bible service. Interment in St. Boniface cemetery, Maryhill.

    Harlis Leo Goetz, GUELPH

    A native of Maryhill who has lived in Guelph for 35 years, Harlis Leo Goetz, 57, of 36 Durham St. died Monday at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was born in Maryhill June 25, 1901, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Goetz. He was employed by the city of Guelph. He was a member of Our Lady RC Church, Guelph and the Holy Name Society. Surviving are his wife, the former Amanda Seitz whom he married at Maryhill in 1926, two sons, George and William of Guelph, two brothers, Hector of Guelph, Leonard of Maryhill; one sister, Mrs. A. J. (Loretta) Reinhardt of Kitchener: three grandchildren. One brother predeceased him. The body is at Gilbert MacIntyre Funeral Home, Guelph, where the rosary will be recited Wednesday, at 8 p.m. Requiem mass will be solemnized Thursday, at 10 a.m., at the church. Buriel will be in Marymount Cemetery, Guelph.

    - At the K-W Hospital, on Wednesday, April 12, 1978, after a brief illness, aged 85 years, Arthur Goetz of Route 1, Breslau. Farmed in the Breslau area all his life. A member of St. Boniface RC Church, Maryhill. Son of the late Charles Goetz and Friedoline Sarus. Surviving are two brothers, Charles of Breslau and Vincent of Detroit; four sisters, Clara (Mrs. Allan Bortz) and Anne, both of Kitchener, Elizabeth (Mrs. Frank Gartland) of Crieff and Sister Lucille of the Notre Dame Convent, Waterdown. Predeceased by one sister, Emma Kirby.

    Visitation at the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home, 51 Benton St., Kitchener. Parish Scripture service was held on Friday.     Sister Lucille Goetz, SSND, died at Notre Dame Convent, Waterdown, Ontario on January 13, 2011 in her 75th year as a School Sister of Notre Dame. She would have turned 102 on January 21st.

    Sister was predeceased by her parents Charles and Fridolina (Saras) Goetz, her brothers, Walter, Arthur, Charles and Vincent and her sisters, Clara Bortz, Emma Kirby, Elizabeth Gartland and Anne Goetz. She is lovingly remembered by the members of her religious community, her devoted nieces, nephews, and friends.

    After graduating as a Registered Nurse in 1929 from St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, Sister Lucille nursed in Kalamazoo, Michigan for a brief time and then returned to St. Mary's Hospital.

    When Sister Lucille entered the candidature in Waterdown in 1934, she was placed in charge of the Motherhouse infirmary. For the next 22 years Sister Lucille devoted herself wholeheartedly to the care of the sick and elderly Sisters. In 1956 she assumed the duties of nurse at St. Agatha Orphanage. Later, she was appointed administrator of Notre Dame of St. Agatha. When Sister Lucille returned to the Motherhouse in 1967, she had several administrative responsibilities.

    Throughout her years Sister Lucille maintained an interest in current happenings. Reading the newspaper each morning was part of her daily routine. Until few years ago she was an avid bridge player. With her sharp memory and her hearty chuckle Sister Lucille would relate entertaining stories of years past. She welcomed everyone with her warm smile.
