    Martin, Edwin S., son of Mr. and Mrs. Emerson M. Martin, was born at St. Jacobs, Ont., Nov. 21, 1913; died of a blood clot, Feb. 12, 1965; aged 51 y. 2 m. 22 d. On May 29, 1938, he was married to Almeda Schallhorn, who survives. Also surviving are 2 children (Ronald Emerson and Elaine Barbara), 3 sisters (Elizabeth - Mrs. Enos Gingerich, Lovina - Mrs. Norman Brubacher, and Ada - Mrs. Stanley Valento), and 5 brothers (Ivan, Howard, Sylvester, Aden, and Henry). He was a member of the St. Jacobs Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held Feb. 14, in charge of Glenn M. Brubacher.

    Henry S. Martin was born Feb 3, 1926, in St. Jacobs to Emerson and Barbara (Sauder) Martin and passed away peacefully at Barnswallow Place, Elmira, on Sunday, June 20, 2021.

    He is dearly missed by Eileen (Diller Baker) his spouse of 12 plus years. He was predeceased by his former spouse Mary (Bauman 1928-2007) of 58 years.

    Henry and Mary had seven children: Judith, Lois (John) Yutzy, Anne (Verton) Miller, Gerald (Verna), John (Ladina), Andy (Colleen) and Cam (Althea-Lisa) and two stepchildren, James (Irene) Baker and Stephen Baker. He will be missed by 22 grandchildren: Justin (Sandra) Yutzy, Jordan (Melody) Yutzy, June (Daryl) Swartzentruber, Jerald (Liana) Miller, James Miller, Caleb (Joanne) Miller, Bethany Miller, Kerry (Heidi), Devon (Julia), Shannon (Gavin) Shantz, Jessica (Rod) Bauman, Kenton (Tricia), Brianna, Janine (Jeremy) Stutzman, Jesse (Bessie), Jed (Sheri), Jerry (Amanda), Brendon, Janna, Sonya (Noah Steinmann), Tristan, Malia and two step-grandchildren, Angela (Corey) Hoffman and Laurah Baker along with 30 great-grandchildren.

    Predeceased by his two grandchildren Sheila Martin and Jonathan Miller.

    Survived by his sister Ada (Stan) Valenta and sister-in-law Joanne Bauman.

    Predeceased by his siblings and in-laws; Edwin (Almeda), Ivan (Alvina), Howard (Seleda), Sylvester (Annie), Elizabeth (Enos) Gingrich, Lovina (Norman) Brubacher, Aden (Alice), Clarence Bauman, Selina Bauman, Elias (Minerva) Bauman, Mabel Bauman, Eli Bauman and Aden Bauman.

    In 2006 Henry retired and moved to Elmira. He was widely known as "Greenhouse Henry" as the owner of a greenhouse and market gardening business in St. Jacobs for some 45 years on a second-generation farm. He was organically inclined and health conscious many years before it became mainstream. For some 27 years dad was a conscientious school bus driver around the region. Dad was a founding and committed member of (Heidelberg) Countryside Mennonite Fellowship and actively involved in song leading for decades.

    A drive past visitation will take place on Thursday, June 24, 2021 from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Countryside Mennonite Fellowship, 3745 Herrgott Rd, Hawkesville. Please remain in your vehicle and follow the directions of the attendant. A private family graveside service will be held at Hillside Cemetery on Friday, June 25, 2021. Following the service, a video recording will be available to view at https://Bit.ly/henrysmartin or on Henry's tribute page of the funeral home website. In memory of Henry, donations to Christian Aid Ministries would be appreciated and can be made through the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira.

    Suddenly on Thursday, Feb. 22, 1973, in an automobile accident, Barbara Brubacher, age 23 years, wife of Leonard S. Martin, of Route 2, Bluevale, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Brubacher of Route 1, West Montrose; mother of Marlene; paternal grandfather, Christian Brubacher of Route 1, West Montrose; sister of Mrs. Melvin (Marion ) Brubacher of Route 1, Elmira, Laverne and Walter at home, Leonard of Route 1, West Montrose.

    Friends may call at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor after 7 p.m. today, until Sunday morning at 10, when removal will be made to the home of her parents at Route 1, West Montrose.

    Funeral service will be held on Monday at 12:30.

    Removal will them be made to Goshen Mennonite Meeting House for further service and burial in the adjoining cemetery.

    MARTIN, David F. - Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends on Thursday, August 2, 2007, at St. Mary's Hospital in Kitchener. David F. Martin resided in Wellesley. He was born in Kitchener 52 years ago and is the beloved son of Annie (Erb) Martin of Country Meadows, Brunner, and the late Sylvester Martin (2003). Dearly loved brother of Wayne and his wife, Shirley Martin of RR 2 Wallenstein and Dorothy Ann and her husband, Joe Leis of Millbank. Lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews. David was employed at Kraemer Woodcraft until 2005 and was an avid Toy collector. Visitation at the Futher Bros. Funeral Home, 1172 Henry St., Wellesley, where family and friends will be received on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be conducted at Faith Mennonite Church in Kingwood on Monday, August 6, 2007 at 2 p.m. Pastor Bruce Sawatsky of Maple View Mennonite Church will officiate. Interment in the Maple View Mennonite Cemetery. Memorials to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario, or to Christian Aid Ministries would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
