Boshart.-Katie, daughter of Nicholas and Fanney (Gingerich) Kennel, was born in Wellesley, Ont., March 6, 1887; passed away at the home of her son, near Carthage, N.Y., May 1, 1947; aged 60 y. 1 m. 25 d. In December, 1909, she was united in marriage to Eli Boshart, who survives. They made their home in Wilmot, Ont., until 1927, when they moved to Jefferson County, N.Y. Also surviving are 3 sons (Clayton and William, Carthage, N.Y.; and Lloyd, Lowville, N.Y.), 2 brothers (Mike, Great Bend, N.Y.; and Jacob, Kitchener, Ont.), 7 sisters (Mrs. Aby Boshart, Waterloo, Ont.; Mrs. Mary Manson, Mrs. Sol Gingerich, Mrs. Nancy Koehler, and Mrs. Edmund Erb, all of Zurich, Ont.; Mrs. Ezra Koehler, Baden, Ont.; and Mrs. George Smith, Evan Mills, N.Y.) 15 grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. In her youth she accepted Christ as her Saviour and united with the Amish Mennonite Church. Funeral services were held at the Croghan Church. Burial was made in the church cemetery, May 04, 1947.

Mrs. Katie Boshart, 60, died in the home of her son, Clayton Boshart, Carthage, RD, May 1, 1947. Mrs. Boshart had gone, to her son's home for a visit and about 3 a. m. yesterday she aroused the family stating that she was ill. Before a physician could arrive, Mrs. Boshart had died. She was born Mar. 8 1887, in Wellesley, Ont. a daughter of Nicholas Kennel and Fannie Gingerich. She was the wife of Eli Boshart, who survives. For the past four years they have made their home at 330 South James St., Carthage. Surviving are her husband, two sons, Clayton, Carthage, and the Rev Lloyd Boshart, pastor of the Amish Mennonite Church in Croghan, two brothers, Michael Kennel, Great Bend, and Jacob Kennel, Kitchener, seven sisters, Mrs. Henry Boshart, Waterloo, Ont., Mrs. Mary Manson, Mrs. Solomon Gingerich, Mrs. Nancy Koehler and Mrs. Edmund Erb, all of Zurich, Ont., Mrs. Ezra Koehler, Baden, Ont.; and Mrs. George Smith, Evans Mills and fifteen-grandchildren.
The body was brought to the Virkler Funeral Home in Lowville and on Thursday afternoon was moved to the home of Mrs. Boshart's son , Lloyd, New Bremen where the funeral services will be at 1 p. m. Sunday and at 2 p. m. from the Amish Church in Croghan with burial in the church cemetery.

ERB, Edmund - Of John Street North, Zurich, passed away at South Huron Hospital, Exeter, in his 91st year.
Beloved husband of the former Mattie Kennel; dear father of Roy of RR 3, Zurich, Margaret (Mrs. Cleve Gingerich) of RR 1, Grand Bend, Grace (Mrs. Irvin Martin) of Zurich, Mary Lou Erb of Zurich and Pearl Ann (Mrs. Mahlon Martin) of Rr 3, Bayfield.
Mr. Erb was predeceased by one son, Clifford; four brothers, Daniel, Chris, Aaron and Mose and by two sisters, Sarah and Barbara. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation in the Zurich Chapel of the Michael P. O'Connor Funeral Homes, 49 Goshen St., North, Zurich, until Friday, April 21, then to Zurich Mennonite Church, where the funeral service will be conducted it 2:30 p.m.. Interment to follow in Blake Mennonite cemetery.

CARTHAGE - Mr. And Mrs. Clayton Boshart, Star Route, Watertown, will be honored at an open house given by their children from 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday at Fellowship Hall, First Mennonite Church of New Bremen, on their 40th wedding anniversary. Clayton Boshart and the former Florence Bast were married Nov. 19. 1933, at Tavistock. Ont.. and have lived in this region all their married life. They are now employed at the House of the Good Samaritan Hospital Watertown. The couple has five children; Gerald. Alden; Harold. Born in Hay Township Jan 14, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Solomon Gingerich. She was a member of the First Mennonite Church in Kitchener. She married Rev. Sauder in Zurich, March 23 1946. Boshart. --- Edward, son of Henry and Ada Boshart, was born at Baden, Ont., Oct. 3, 1921; died at his home at Waterloo, Ont., April 27, 1940; aged 18 y. 6 m. 24 d. He was converted and united with the Mennonite Church in 1935. His testimony during the many weeks of his sickness was that he had peace with God and was willing to submit to the will of God. Surviving are his parents, 3 sisters (Viola, Mrs. Neil Kavelman, Bertha, and Audrey), 1 brother (Stanley), and many relatives and friends. "As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied, when I awake with thy likeness." Services were held at the Erb St. Mennonite Church, Waterloo, Ont., in charge of Brethren Peter Nafziger and J. B. Martin.

Bertha Veitch, 1923 - April 3, 2007 Bertha died , at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, on Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at the age of 84. She will be remembered by her son, Robert and his wife Grace Veitch; grandchildren, Sheri and her husband Bryan Stover, Rebecca Veitch and her husband Allan Dueck, Scott and his wife Krista Veitch and her great-grandchildren, Trent Stover and Amy Dueck. Bertha will also be remembered by sister, Audrey Gingerich; sister-in-law, Dorothy Boshart; brother and sister-in-law, George and Marguerite Rieck and her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband, Robert September 1, 1995; sister, Viola Kavelman; brothers, Stan and Edward Boshart; brothers-in-law, Neil Kavelman and Victor Gingerich; parents, Ada Kennel and Henry Boshart and her special niece and friend, Joan Kavelman. Friends are invited to share their memories of Bertha with her family in the auditorium at Fairview Mennonite Home in Cambridge this afternoon (Thursday) from 2-4 p.m. Visiting will continue at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South in Waterloo, today (Thursday) and Good Friday from 7-9 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Bertha's life and faith will be held at Erb Street Mennonite Church, Waterloo, on Saturday, April 7, 2007 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Eleanor Epp-Stobbe officiating. Interment will follow at Erb Street Mennonite Cemetery. Condolences for the family and donations to Rockway Mennonite Collegiate or Fairview Mennonite Home would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

He was married to Dorothy Curtis, who survives. Also surviving are his father, 2 sons (David and Keith), 3 daughters (Ruth Ann, Donna, and Bonnie), 4 grandchildren, and 3 sisters (Mrs. Viola Kavelman, Bertha - Mrs. Robert Veitch, and Audrey - Mrs. Victor Gingerich). He was preceded in death by his mother, one son (James), and one brother (Edward).
