    SHANTZ, Ruth Pauline - Passed away, peacefully on Monday, February 12, 2007, at Nithview Home, New Hamburg in her 85th year. Ruth, beloved sister of Marguerite (Cameron) Toman and John Shantz; loving aunt to Donna (Paul) Zarnke, Keith (Helen) Toman, Bruce (Annie) Toman and Carol (Bruce) Vanwyck. She will be fondly remembered by many great-nieces and nephews and all those who knew her. Predeceased by her parents, Laura and Claude Shantz; her sister Betty Shantz; her brother Donald Shantz and her sister-in-law, Janine Shantz. Ruth was for many years an organist at Bethel Evangelical Missionary Church, as well as an accomplished piano teacher. For the last six years Ruth resided at Nithview Home. Friends will be received at the Bethel Evangelical Missionary Church, 1531 Bridge Street, New Dundee, on Wednesday, February 14, 2007, from 6 until 9 p.m.. Funeral service will be held at the Church the following morning at 11 a.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Emmanuel Bible College, Bethel Evangelical Missionary Church or Nithview Community Palliative Care, New Hamburg would be appreciated by the family and can be made by contacting the funeral home at 519-743-8900.     JOHN E. SHANTZ 1924 2010 Of Scarborough, passed away after a brief illness, at Scarborough Centenary Hospital, on Friday, February 5, 2010, at the age of 85. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Janine, in 2006; sister, Betty Shantz; brother, Donald Shantz; and sister, Ruth Shantz. John is lovingly remembered by his sister, Marguerite Toman and her husband Cameron and nieces and nephews, Donna, Keith, Bruce, Carol and their families. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of John's life will be held in the chapel of the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home , 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at 3 p.m. A reception will follow in the funeral home's Fireside Reception Room. Survived by his sisters Ruth Shantz of New Hamburg, Marguerite Toman and her husband Cameron of Waterloo, and his brother John Shantz and his wife Janine of Toronto. Remembered by his nieces Donna Zarnke of Georgetown, Carol Vanwick of Waterloo and nephews Bruce Toman and Keith Toman, both of Waterloo. Predeceased by his parents, Claude and Laura Shantz and his sister Betty Shantz. Donald was a meteorologist and worked in Montreal for the majority of his career. Cremation will take place.
