    Mr. Simon Ratz who has had a severe attack of typhoid fever is on the fair way of convalescence. Mr. Peter Mattusch is also recovering from the results of his fall from the roof of the Catholic church and will soon be able to be around again. - Mr. John H Ruppel, our village Clerk, is also confined to his bed with indisposition. - Mr. Chr. Spaeth was stricken with paralysis last week and it is feart that he will not revive.

    Interment for the late Willlam Spaeth of Kitchener took place In the local cemetery last Thursday afternoon. The late Mr. Spaeth was well known to many of the older residents here, having resided near the village some time ago.

She was married in 1914 to Harvey Rieck, who survives.     ANGUS S. BAUMAN

    Angus S. Bauman, 65, R.R. 2, Wallenstein, died Thursday at Victoria Hospital, London, Ont.

    He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Israel M. Bauman of Woolwich township. Surviving are his wife, three sons, Andrew, Floradale; Rufus, at home, and William, R.R. 2, Drayton; two daughters, Mrs. Aden (Rebecca) Martin, R.R. 2, Wallenstein; Miss Elizabeth, West Montrose; two brothers, Isaiah, R.R. 2, Wallenstein; Eli, R.R. 2, Drayton; one sister, Mrs. Daniel Gingerich, R.R. 2, Drayton, and 14 grandchildren. Two sons predeceased him.

    The funeral was conducted Monday at the residence and later at North Woolwich Mennonite meeting house. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.

    Notes:

    A funeral service was conducted Monday at the Olivet Mennonite meeting house for Isaiah S. Bauman, RR 2, Wallenstein, who died Friday at his home after a lengthy illness. He was 80. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery. He was born in Woolwich Township, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Israel Bauman.

    Surviving are his wife, the former Hannah Martin, whom he married in 1918; two sons, Edward of RR 2 Wallenstein, and Amon, RR 1 Wallenstein; one sister, Mrs. Daniel (Lydia) Gingrich, and seven grandchildren. Three brothers predeceased him.

    On Saturday, Jan. 30, 1982, at her home, RR 2, Drayton, aged 88 years, Lydia Bauman.

    Wife of Daniel Gingrich; mother of Mrs. Emmanuel (Lovina) Weber of RR 2, Wallenstein, Onias and John, both of RR 2, Drayton and Mrs. Amelia Martin of Floradale. Twenty-one grandchildren and 51 great-grandchildren also survive. Four brothers and one son-in-law predeceased her.

    Friends called at her home, RR 2, Drayton, where a private family service was held Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. Removal was made to the North Woolwich Mennonite Meeting House for further service and burial in the adjoining cemetery.

    Ephraim B. Bauman

    There was a very large attendance at the North Woolwich Mennonite Church on Monday at the funeral of Ephraim B. Bauman, son of Angus Bauman, R. R. 2, Wallenstein. Ephraim Bauman, who was 18 years of age, passed away at the K.-W. hospital last Thursday from internal injuries received when he fell from a ladder in his father's barn a week previous to his death. He was in the act of climbing into the mow when the mishap occurred. Grasping a board from the ladder he fell a distance of fourteen feet to the floor when the board came loose in his hand. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. John Bowman of Elmira and Rev. Henry S. Bauman of Hawkesville

    Rudy, Sidney M. ~ Went home peacefully to be with his Lord on Monday, December 30, 2013 as the result of a fall. Sid Rudy in his 86th year, of St. Jacobs, was the beloved husband for 61 years of Dorothy (Bast) Rudy. Loving father of Connie and Dave Martin of RR 1, Elora, Patricia and Steve Errey of Ariss, and James and Margaret Rudy of St. Clements. Also lovingly remembered by his eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Brother of Nancy Rudy, Melinda Rudy and Lydia Bowman, and brother-in-law of Elsie (Brubacher) Rudy. Sid will be missed by his many nieces, nephews and their families.     Funeral service was held Monday in Linwood for Saloma Rudy, of Hawkesville. She died May 28, 1987, at K-W hospital. She was 53.

    She was the daughter of Mrs. Aaron Rudy; sister of Cyrus and Menno Rudy, both of RR 3 Waterloo, Sidney Rudy, of Beaverton, Leah Martin, of Elmira, Nancy and Susannah Rudy, both of St. Jacobs, Malinda Rudy, of RR 1 Linwood, Barbara (Mrs. George Bowman), Lydia (Mrs. Josiah Bowman) both of RR 1 Wallenstein; predeceased by her husband, Mannasseh H. Martin, her parents, and two brothers in infancy.

    Burial was in Linwood Mennonite cemetery.

Also survived by his four brothers - Leander, Joshua, George and Cyrus Martin, his sister Lydian Martin, his 29 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his first wife Salema (Brubacher) Martin, two sons and one brother.
