    Robert M. Ford Passes on Tuesday - A well-known and highly esteemed district farmer, Robert M. Ford died at his Reidsville home on Tuesday, in his 67th year. Mr. Ford had been ill for some time, and underwent an operation several months ago. During the 34 years which he operated his Reidsville farm, where the family of five was raised, Mr. Ford developed a reputation as a successful agriculturist and a good neighbor. He was prominent in the social life of the community and keenly interested in sports activities Mr. Ford was a school section trustee for several terms. Born in Galt, he was a son of the late John Ford and Elizabeth Miller, but had lived in the rural district nearly all his life. He was married 35 years ago to Margaret Bruce, also a lifelong resident of the vicinity, who survives him. Mr. Ford attended Knox United Church, Ayr. Surviving, besides his widow, are two daughters, Mrs. Howard Heath (Ruth) of Goderich and Betty at home; three sons, Ernest and Russell of Galt and Bruce of Ayr; six sisters, Mrs. Thomas Wright (Bessie), North Dumfries; Mrs. Arthur Newton (Ella), Kelwood, Man.; Mrs. Albert Amies (Mary), Guelph; Mrs. Joseph McCabe (Ethel), Galt; Mrs. Emerson Harkness (Ida) and Margaret Ford, both of Glenmorris; two brothers, George of ?Glenmorris; two brothers, George of Glenmorris and Radford of Guelph. Several grandchildren also survive. Funeral service will be held at the W.R. Coutts Funeral Home, St. Andrew's Street, Galt, on Friday at 2 p.m., with Rev. W. D. Goodger officiating. Burial will take place in Ayr Cemetery.

    Russell Ford

    John Russell Ford of Concession Street, Cambridge, passed away at Cambridge Memorial Hospital on Saturday, December 5th. He was in his 70th year. Born on the Ford family farm at Reidsville, now the Earl Sage farm, he was a son of the late Robert M. Ford and Margaret Bruce. He served over-seas with the Canadian Army during World War IL He worked at Newlands and later at Canadian General Tower from where he retired. Mr. Ford was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Galt Branch 121 and the Navy Club. Beloved husband of the late Madeline Addison and dear father of John and his wife Susan, Wendy Peters and her husband Chris both of Cambridge; also survived by his brothers Bruce and his wife Marg. of Ayr, Ernie and his wife Enid of Cambridge, his sisters Ruth (Mrs. Howard Heath) of Brockville, Betty (Mrs. Hugh Boland) of Reidsville, his grandchildren Amanda and Adam and his friend Ella Stephenson. Predeceased by a son Brian. Rested at the Corbett Funeral Home, Galt, where funeral service was conducted by Rev. Gordon Griggs on Tuesday. Interment in Mount View Cemetery, Cambridge.
