Passing of Nellie S. Reid - Once more the community is called upon to mourn the passing of one of its most widely known and highly esteemed residents. At 10 o'clock am on Tuesday, March 18, Miss Nellie S. Reid passed over to the great white robed throng who had gone before. Although it was pretty generally known that she was in precarious health, the news of her death crated a sensible shock. About two weeks ago deceased had gone to Toronto for expert treatment, but, apparently, nothing could be done to stay the disease which was sapping her life blood, and the end came suddenly.

Miss Reid was born at Reidsville 45 years ago, her mother dying in 1904 and her father in 1909. In 1911 the family removed to Ayr. Deceased was a consistent part of everything pertaining to church work. In music she had attained a high degree of proficiency, especially as a pianist, and her services at public and other functions were much sought and highly appreciated. At home she was ever happy when entertaining her host of friends. Indeed the community will sadly miss Nellie Reid.

She is survived by an only sister, Clara, and three brothers, Jno. Q., W.A., and W.I., four uncles, two on each side of the family tree, also mourn an affectionate niece, viz.: And. J. and Alex. Reid, Ayr, Hugh Anderson, Atwood, and Jno. Anderson, Brantford.

The funeral will take place form her late residence, Hall Street, at 2: 30 pm, today, to the Ayr cemetery.
