    NOAH W. HEIST Noah W. Heist, 86, a retired district farmer, died at his home in Winterbourne on Tuesday following a lengthy illness. Born in 1870, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Heist. He farmed in Woolwich Township until his retirement in 1943 when he came to Winterbourne. Mr. Heist was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Elmira. Surviving three sons. Hilbert and Arthur of Winterbourne and Howard of Bloomingdale; three daughters, Mrs. Oscar (Aleda) Schierholtz of Kitchener, Mrs. Arthur (Hilda) Israel of Conestogo and Mrs. Levi (Laura) Nichlas of Tavistock; two sisters, Mrs. Henry Klinck and Mrs. William Stroh, both of Elmira, 1.4 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Two sons, Nestor and Lorne, predeceased him. The body rested at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor, Elmira. The funeral was conducted at St. Paul's Church, Thursday, at 3 p.m. with Rev. Frank Malinsky officiating. Interment was in Elmira Cemetery.

    Hilbert H. Reist

    Hilbert H. Reist. RR 2. West Montrose, brother of Mrs. Levi (Laura) Nicklas of Tavistock, died last Sunday at Kitchener Waterloo Hospital at the age of 69.

    He was a son of Mrs. Noah Reist of Winterbourne and the late Mr. Reist and was born in Woolwich Township October 17. 1899. He farmed near West Montrose until his retirement in 1966.

    His wife, the former Florence Miller predeceased him in August this year.

    Surviving, besides his mother and sister, are two sons. Vernon and Ralph of RR2. West Montrose; two brothers, Arthur of Bancroft and Howard of Bloomingdale and another sister, Mrs. Arthur (Hilda) Israel of Conestoga.

    Funeral services were held at St. James Lutheran Church, Elmira, on Wednesday, Rev. H. W. Baetz. officiating.

    Mrs. Oscar C Schierholtz, 63, of 843 Frederick St. died Friday after a lengthy illness.

    Born in Woolwich Township, she lived in Kitchener for 12 years prior to her death. The daughter of the late Noah Reist and Mrs. Margaret Reist of Winterbourne, she is also survived by her husband, Oscar C. Schierholtz to whom she was married June 10, 1925, in Elmira.

    Also surviving are one son, Stuart of Breslau; two daughters, Mrs. Bruce (Dorothy) Lackenbauer of Kitchener and Betty Schierholtz of Kitchener; three brothers, Hilbert of West Montrose, Arthur of Bancroft and Howard of Bloomingdale; two sisters, Mrs. Arthur Israel of Conestogo and Mrs. Levi Nicklas of Tavistock, and six grandchildren. She was predeceased by two brothers.

    The body rested at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home until 10 a.m. Monday when removal was made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Bridgeport, where the service was conducted at 2 p.m. with Rev. R. W. Huras officiating.

    Burial was in St. James Lutheran Church Cemetery, Elmira.

Beloved wife of 65 years of Arthur Israel of Waterloo, loving mother of Arlene and Walter Koch of Kitchener; dear grandmother of Denise (Steven) Dietrich and Valerie Ullman and great-grandmother of Jeremy, Jason, Kyle and Kraig Dietrich, Jesse, Emily and Jacob Ullman; sister of Arthur and Iris Reist of Boulter, Ont., Laura an Levi Nicklas of Tavistock. Predeceased by her parents, Noah and Margarethe (Geisel) Reist; four brothers, Nester, Lorne, Hilbert and Howard and one sister, Aleda Schierholtz. Hilda was a lifelong member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Elmira. The family will receive friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. At 9 a.m. Saturday transfer will be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Elmira for funeral service at 11 a.m., with Rev. Richard Frey officiating followed by interment in Elmira Union Cemetery.

    SCHIERHOLTZ, STUART Oscar Passed away on Monday, May 7, 2018 at Conestoga Lodge at the age of 91. Beloved husband of the late Louise (nee MacTavish). Loving father of Gregory (Susan) of Waterloo, Glenn (Tracy) of Alberta, Colleen (Fred) Olbort of Woodstock, Jennifer (Christopher) Secord and Eric (Sheri) all of Waterloo. He will be fondly remembered by his ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Betty Schierholtz of Kitchener and sadly missed by his close friend Joyce Dettweiler of Breslau, he will also be fondly remembered by all his extended family and friends. Predeceased by his parents, Oscar and Aleda Schierholtz and his sister Dorothy Lackenbauer. He was a member of Breslau Evangelical Missionary Church. Stuart began his career in Dairy Farming and retired as a farm machine mechanic. Stuart's family will receive relatives and friends at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467 on Thursday, May 10, 2018 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Friday, May 11, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. where the Funeral Service will be held in the chapel at 10:30 a.m. with a reception to follow. Cremation to take place with a private interment in Breslau Mennonite Cemetery, at a later date.
