    Henry Schenk

    The death occurred at Walkerton on July 14 of Henry Schenk, a well known former resident of Kitchener and district. The deceased was born in Wesson, Germany on July 31, 1847 and came with his parents to Canada early in the spring of 1848, He was aged 82 years, 11 months and 13 days and his demise was due to internal obstruction. For many years Mr. Schenk farmed successfully two miles south of Mannheim on the Huron road but in 1916 he sold his farm and retired to Kitchener where he lived till April 27 when he moved to Walkerton with his son, John. He was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran church, this city, in religion, and in politics he was staunch Conservative. He was predeceased by some six years by his wife who before her marriage was Miss Wilhelmina Allès. He is survived by four sons, Andrew of Mannheim John of Walkerton, Herman and William of Kitchener and by 12 grand children. Five sons predeceased him. Also surviving are two sisters. Mrs. Mary Alles of Idaho, U.S.A. and Mrs. Louisa Alles of Milverton. The funeral will be held tomorrow, July 17 at 2.30 o'clock (daylight saving time) from 39 West Lancaster street Kitchener, the home of his son. Herman. Service will be held at St. Matthew's Lutheran church. Benton street. and interment will be made in the East End Lutheran cemetery. Rev. J. Schmieder, the church will officiate

    JOHN SCHENK

    A native of Wilmot Township. John Schenk, 61, died yesterday at Walkerton. He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schenk.

    Surviving are his wife, formerly Louisa Knipfel; two sons, Wilfred and Clarence of the R.C.A.F., the latter overseas; two daughters, Mrs. Fred Strebel, Kitchener, and Miss Irene Schenk, Walkerton; and two brothers, Herman and William. Kitchener One grandchild also sur vives.

    A service will be held in Trinity Lutheran Church, Walkerton, on Saturday at two o'clock, following which the remains will be brought to Kitchener, arriving here about 6:30 pm. Funeral service will be held from the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home at two o'clock Sunday after noon. Rev. A. Orten, pastor of St Paul's Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery The remains will rest at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home.

    SCHENK, Irvin - Irvin Frederick Schenk passed away at St. Mary's Hospital on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at the age of 96. Dear father of Larry Schenk of Baden. Irvin was predeceased by his dear wife Helen (nee Hallman) in 2003 and his brother Lincoln Schenk in 1986. Born November 2, 1913, Irvin was the son of the late Andrew Schenk (1938) and Franna (Hank) Schenk (1961). A life-long beef farmer in Wilmot Township, Irvin also ran a trucking business purchasing and marketing beef cattle for area farmers. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at 2 p.m. at St. James Lutheran Church, Mannheim, Ontario. Visitation will take place before the service from 1 - 2 p.m. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.     WILFRED GEORGE SCHENK

    Passed away October 24, 2010 at The Westmount LTC in Kitchener, at the age of 95. Predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Natalie, by his daughter Sandra, and his brother Clarence. Survived by his sisters Margaret and Irene, and his son Kenneth. Wilfred was a lifelong member of Historic St. Paul's Lutheran Church. He was a flight lieutenant and bomber pilot in World War II, and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. He worked at Uniroyal for 34 yrs, and enjoyed fishing and the family cottage into his retirement. Heartfelt gratitude to all the wonderful staff at The Westmount LTC, whose kindness and loving care made his final year a pleasant one. Wilfred will be sadly missed. Visitation will be held on Thursday October 28, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. followed by Funeral at 11:00 a.m. at Historic St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 137 Queen St. South in Kitchener. Interment at 12 noon at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery on Weber Street in Kitchener.

    Schenk, Arthur Herman - Died at Victoria Hospital, London, Ont., on Friday, Aug. 19, 1994, in his 75th year.

    Arthur was a retired custodian with the Waterloo County Board of Education and a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church.

    He is survived by his brother Weyburn and his wife Freda Schenk of Kitchener; is niece, Jean and her husband Ken Arnett and their children, Harold and Melissa.

    Predeceased by his wife, Anne (Riem); his parents, Herman and Lucinda (Grody) Schenk and two brothers, Lloyd and Alfred.

    Mr. Schenk's family will receive friends at the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home and Chapel, 51 Benton at Church St., Kitchener 7-9 pm today (Saturday) and 2-4 and 7-9 pm Sunday. Complete funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday, Aug. 22, 1994 at 2 pm. Interment Parkview Cemetery.

    Peacefully passed away at St. Mary's General Hospital, Kitchener on Sunday, March 6, 2022, at the age of 71 years. Beloved wife of Kenneth for over 46 years. Dear mother of Harold (Kate) and Melissa. Cherished grandma of the late Rory and Ruth, also Lisa, Edward, Brooklyn and to great grandson Dréson. Predeceased by her parents Weyburn and Freda Schenk and by many relatives.

    Jean was a former cook at Parkwood Manor and Wilfrid Laurier University which she loved and where she made lifelong friends. After having children of her own, she became a lunchroom supervisor with Harold W. Wagner Public School. She was an avid community liaison for Bluevale Collegiate and enjoyed crocheting blankets for many new babies and adults alike. Jean volunteered her time with Silver Spoons and at First United Church.

    The Arnett family will receive relatives and friends at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street S., Waterloo on Thursday, March 10, 2022, from 3-5pm & 7-9pm. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 11, 2022, at First United Church, Waterloo at 11am. A Livestream of the funeral service will be available at www.erbgood.com Interment will follow at Memory Gardens, Breslau. A Celebration of Life will be held in the future.
