    Edward S. Hofstetter

    Edward S. Hofstetter, 61, of 73 Elgin St. died at his home yesterday after a lengthy illness.

    A native of Wilmot Centre, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Hofstetter. He was an employee of the Baetz Furniture Co., Ltd., and a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

    Surviving are his widow, the formed Amelia Rueffer, whom he married in Petersburg in 1916; one son, Earl of Kitchener; two daughters, Mrs. Omer (Ruth) Gagnier of Windsor and Mrs. Robert (Marie) Mahn of Kitchener; two brothers, Samuel of Victoriaburg, Ont., and Orphen of Toronto; two sisters, Mrs. Aldon Snider of Kitchener and Mrs. Gertrude Hux of Dowagiac, Mich.; six grandchildren.

    The body will rest at the Rate-Bechtel Funeral Home until Monday noon when removal will be made to St. Paul's Church for the funeral at 2 p.m. Burial will he in Woodland Cemetery with Ilex'. Arthur Eissfeldt, St. Paul's Church pastor, officiating.

    Samuel Hofstetter

    The death occurred at the Kitchener-Waterloo Hospital last Friday of Samuel Hofstetter, at the age of 70 years, following an illness of two months' duration. Deceased was born in Wilmot Township, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Hofstetter, and spent his entire life in the community where he was well and favorably known. Up to the time of his last illness he farmed on the Bleam's Road, at Victoriaburg. Surviving are one brother, Orphen, Toronto, and two sisters, Mrs. Aldon Snider of Kitchener and Mrs. Gertrude Hux of Dowagiac, Mich. He was predeceased by two brother and four sisters. The funeral took place on Sunday afternoon with service at the Wilmot Centre Evangelical, United Brethren Church, and burial in the Wilmot Centre Cemetery. Rev. C. R. Kauth, pastor of the church, conducted the funeral services.

    HOFSTETTER, Earl P. - Passed away, in Collingwood, on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000, Earl Hofstetter, formerly of Kitchener, in his 82nd year. Father of Marilyn and her husband Glen Sacerty of Wasaga Beach, Evelyn and her husband Wilfrid Hughes of Sudbury, Elaine and her husband David Wilson of Wasaga Beach. Sadly missed by seven grandchildren, Crystal (Richard), Kelly, Margaret, Tom, Danny (Patty), Tye (Cathy), Amber (Scott) and by 10 great-grandchildren; brother of Marie Mahn of Kitchener, Ruth and her husband Gerry Gagnier of Harrow, Ont. Also remembered by Aunt, Virginia Hofstetter of Toronto. He was predeceased by his parents, Edward Hofstetter and the former Emilia Rueffer. Friends and relatives may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home , 621 King St. , W. Kitchener on Tuesday from 1: 30 p.m. until the time of funeral and committal services in the chapel at 2: 30 p.m. , with Rev. Allan Scharlach from Historic St. Paul's Lutheran Church officiating. Cremation. Reception to follow in the Ratz-Bechtel Family Centre. Memorial donations to the Children's Wish Foundation or the charity of your choice, would be gratefully acknowledged.

    MAHN, Marie Katherine (nee Hofstetter) At the KW Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, on Thursday, February 10, 2011, Marie died with family by her side, at the age of 85. Beloved wife of the late Robert Mahn (1993). Dear mother of Beverley Fisher (Robert), Janice Psutka (friend Jim McIntyre), Kathy Thomson (Kevin), Bob Jr. (Elli), Tom (Susan) and Tim (Monica). Cherished grandmother to Dean, Dan, Christopher (Sara), Andrew, Wesley, Julie, Monica, Adam (Shannon), Aaron (Christine), Laurie and Ben. Great-Grandmother to Olivia, Dylan, Allison, Logan, Tyler, Cali, Mya, Abbegayle and Ethan. Also survived by her sister Ruth Gagnier. Predeceased by her brother Earl Hofstetter, grand-daughter Lee Ann Fisher and grandson Jason Thomson.

    Marie was a lifetime member of Historic St. Paul's Lutheran Church, and avid artist and china painter.

    Marie's family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Funeral services will be held at historic St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 137 Queen St. S., Kitchener on Monday, February 14, 2011 at 11 a.m. with Paster Mark Hartburg officiating. A reception will follow in the Church Hall. Interment in Woodland Cemetery.
