    MRS. ALLAN W. BATTLER - Mrs. Allan W. Battler, 57, formerly Louise Schenk, died early today at her home, R.R. 2, Petersburg, after an illness of two weeks. A daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Schenk, she was born in Wilmot township on Dec. 31, 1883, Mrs. Battler was a member of St. James' Lutheran church, Baden. On Dec. 18, 1907, she was married at Baden. In addition to her husband she is survived by two sons, Roy at home and Ralph of New Dundee, three daughters, Dorothy and Reta at home and Verdella of Kitchener and a sister, Mrs. Walter Hagedorn of Wilmot township. A son predeceased her in infancy. Funeral service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at her residence in Wilmot township with Rev. W. Schultz of Linwood officiating.

    BATTLER, Roy E. - Peacefully, on Thursday, April 2, 1998, at St. Mary's General Hospital, in Kitchener, Roy Edgar Battler, of 19 Henry St. W., in Wellesley, Roy was born in Wilmot Township, 83 years ago. Son of the late Allan Battler and the late Louisa Schenk. Mr. Battler was a member of the Wellesley Evangelical Missionary Church. Roy was employed with Stahley's Bakery and the Wellesley Mill End store for many years. He was also a well-known market vegetable gardener. Beloved husband of 56 years of Anna Elizabeth (Haas) Battler of Wellesley; dear father of Ruth Ann and her husband Bob Lymburner of Cayuga, Kenneth and his wife Jeannette Battler of Brantford, Roger and his wife Bonnie Battler of Wellesley; dear brother of Dorothy Battler, Reta and her husband Wilber Ober, both of Kitchener. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Donna and her husband Jamie Baxter of Calgary, Jeffrey Battler and Friend Tammy and daughter, Samantha, of New Hamburg, Kendra and her husband Shain Arnott of New Hamburg, Courtney Battler and her friend Ryan of Kitchener, Tracy and Brad Battler of Wellesley; step-grandfather of Lynnette and her husband Don Nunns of Brantford; brother-in-law of Viola Battler of New Dundee, Ellen Miller of RR 2 Petersburg. Funeral Home, 40 Henry St. W. in Wellesley, where family and friends will be received tonight (Friday) from 7-9 pm, and Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday at 2: 30 pm, Pastor Mark Berger will officiate. Burial will follow in the Wilmot Centre Cemetery.

    Peacefully, on Tuesday, Nov. 18, 1997, at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, Kitchener.
    Ralph was born 78 years ago on the family homestead at Shingletown and lived there until 1992, when he moved to New Dundee. He was a son of the late Allan and Louisa (Schenk) Battler. He was a member of Bethel Missionary Church, New Dundee. Ralph had served as rural mail courier for RR 2 Petersburg and New Dundee until his retirement and was a rural Kitchener-Waterloo Record carrier for a number of years.
    Loving husband of Viola (Schwartz) Battler, whom he married May 12, 1945. Cherished father of Thelma and her husband Merlin Trussler of Kitchener, Maurice and his wife Christine, Bruce and his wife Marilyn, all of New Hamburg. He will be missed by his grandchildren, Robert, Bradley and Kevin Trussler, Naomi Battler, Amy, Dale, Julie and Lisa Battler; dear brother of Dorothy Battler of Kitchener, Roy and his wife Anna of Wellesley and Ralph's twin sister, Reta and her husband Wilbert Ober of Kitchener.
    He was predeceased by a sister, Verdella Such and a brother, Clayton in infancy.
    Friends and relatives may call at the Mark Jutzi funeral Home 291 Huron St., New Hamburg, on Friday, Nov. 21, 1997 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, 1997 at 9 a.m., transfer will be made to Bethel Missionary Church, New Dundee for the service at 11 a.m., with Pastor Graham Burkhart and Pastor Wayne Domms officiating. Burial to follow in Wilmot Centre Cemetery.

    HAGEDORN, Howard Orlen - Passed away at the Village of Winston Park on Friday, May 30, 2008 at the age of 82. Beloved husband of Edna (Snowden) Hagedorn, loving father of Brian (Doreen) Hagedorn, Vickie (Rob) Goddard and Steve (Patricia) Hagedorn. Proud grandfather of Kristen, Kelly and Rob Jr. Goddard, Joshua and Adam Hagedorn and Carla and Candice Hagedorn. Predeceased by his parents, Walter and Minerva Hagedorn and his siblings, Sanford and Ward Hagedorn and Jean Wilken. Howard will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Howard farmed for many years in the K-W area and once he retired from farming, he started his own cleaning products business. He was actively involved at St. James Lutheran Church in Mannheim. Howard's family will receive friends and relatives at the Westmount Funeral Chapel , 1001 Ottawa Street South (at Westmount Rd.), Kitchener on Monday, June 2, 2008 (today) from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at 11 a.m. Interment at Fairmount Cemetery, Baden. Memorial donations to Canadian Cancer Society or St. James Lutheran Church, Mannheim would be appreciated and may be arranged by contacting the funeral home at (519) 743-8900.
