Walter Edward Kieswetter of 168 Lincoln Rd., Waterloo, President of Kieswetter Cartage and Excavating Co. Ltd., died Sunday at K-W Hospital after a brief illness. He was 52. Born in Bamberg, he lived in the Twin City area all his life. He was elected president of the firm in 1953 after the retirement of his father, John R., founder and former president of the firm for more than 40 years., He was a member of St. Agnes RC Church, Waterloo, a charter member of Father Spetz Council of Waterloo Knights of Columbus, a member of Father Funchen General Assembly of the 4th degree Knights of Columbus, the K-W Press Club, the Waterloo Club and the Waterloo Kinsmen Club. His mother, the former Lillian Voll, died in 1953. Surviving are his father, his wife, the former Mae Violet Finnegan, whom he married in Kitchener June 22, 1940; two sons, Bryan of Waterloo and Robert of Paradise Lake; two daughters, Mrs. Bruce (Janet) Rich of Waterloo and Mrs. Robert (Sharon) Conaway of Preston; five brothers, John F., Harold and Jerome, all of Waterloo, and George and Clarence, both of Kitchener; a sister, Mrs. Russel (Irene) Kuehner of Kitchener and seven grandchildren. The body is at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home where the rosary will be recited Tuesday at 8 pm, followed by a Scripture service at 8: 30 pm by Father Funchen General Assembly of the 4th degree Knights of Columbus. Prayers will be said at the funeral home Wednesday at 9: 30 am, followed by removal to St. Agnes RC Church for funeral mass at 10 am with Rev. Joachim Gringel officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.

Kieswetter, Harold J. - Suddenly at St. Mary's Hospital, on Thursday, March 8, 1990, Harold Kieswetter, of Melrose Avenue, Kitchener, age 62 years. Harold was president of Kieswetter Holdings Limited and was past president of Kieswetter Cartage and Excavating Co. Ltd. He was also a member of St. Agnes RC Church. Beloved husband of Marilyn (Maguire); loving father of Brad and his wife Mary Lynn, Guy and his friend Shelley Felhaber, Kim and her fiancé Ed Norcott, Vicky Petrie, Paul and his friend Bonnie Koebel, Lisa and her friend Terry Dupuis. Sadly missed by his grandchildren, Amanda Petrie, Nicole Norcott and Brandon Kieswetter. Brother of Irene and her husband Russel Kuehner, George, Clarence and his wife Patricia, Jerome and his wife Theresa. Also lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, John R. Kieswetter and the former Lillian Voll and two brothers, Wally and John. Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, on Friday from 7-9 pm, Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, where parish prayers will be held at 7 pm on Sunday. Prayers will be offered at the funeral home on Monday at 10: 30 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Agnes RC Church, 75 Bluevale St. N., Waterloo at 11 am. Interment Parkview Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated by the family.
