    MRS. LEANDER MONTAG

    Mrs. Leander Montag of New Hamburg died Monday at St Mary's Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was 90.

    Born at Bamberg Sept. 29, 1877, she was the former Magdelena Dorscht, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Dorscht.

    She resided in New Hamburg for the past 27 years.

    She was a member of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, New Hamburg.

    Surviving are two sons, Alfred of Petersburg, Clayton of Kitchener; one daughter, Mrs. Milton (Luella) Haffner of New Hamburg; one sister, Catherine of St. Agatha; four grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

    Her husband predeceased her in 1941.

    The body will be at the Bruce J. Omand Funeral Home, New Hamburg. Parish prayers will be offered at the funeral home Wednesday at 8 p.m. Mass will be recited Thursday at 10 a.m. at Holy Family RC Church, Rev. Louis Batte officiating.

    Interment will be in St. Agatha RC Church cemetery.

    On Friday, Jan. 6, 1984, at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, the former Luella Montag, of 351 Huron St., New Hamburg, age 78 years.

    She was a faithful member of the Holy Family RC Church, New Hamburg, where she was a charter member of the CWL.

    Beloved wife of the late Milton G. Haffner, who predeceased her September 1, 1977. Dear mother of Ronald and his wife Elsie of New Hamburg, Margery and her husband Howard Brown and Mildred Binkley, of Kitchener. Also lovingly remembered by a son-in-law, Joseph Weber of New Hamburg; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Alfred of St. Agatha and Clayton of Kitchener.

    She was predeceased by her parents, Leander Montag and the former Magdalena Dorscht and one daughter, Shirley Weber in 1978.

    Friends and relatives called at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg, until Monday, Jan. 9, where prayers were recited at 10:45 a.m., followed by mass of Christian burial at Holy Family RC Church, New Hamburg at 11 a.m., with Father V. Pautler and Father W. Smithbower officiating. Interment in Holy Family (Riverside) cemetery, New Hamburg.

    BINKLEY, Mildred (nee Haffner) - Passed away, peacefully, on Wednesday, April 25, 2007, at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, at the age of 80. Beloved wife of the late Karl (1964). Loving mother of Lynn Brenner (Keith), Patricia Hayward (Geoffrey), Mark Binkley (Alwine). Dear grandmother of Jennifer, Sarah, Robbin Dyet (Richard), Morgan, Tenille Horstkott (Chrys), Nicole Ardelean (Virgil) and the late Jonathan Brenner. Survived also by great-grandchildren, Mason Dyet, Sarah Dyet and Atley Ardelean. Mildred will be missed by her sister, Margery Haffner-Phillips (Richard); sister-in-law, Elsie Haffner and brother-in-law, Joseph Weber and their families. Predeceased by her parents, Milton and Luella (nee Montag) Haffner; her sister, Shirley Weber and brother, Ronald Haffner. Mildred's family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today (Friday) at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Prayers will be offered in the chapel of the funeral home at 10: 30 a.m. on Saturday, April 28, 2007 followed by procession to St. Francis RC Church (49 Blueridge Ave., Kitchener) for Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Interment Mountview Cemetery, Cambridge immediately following the reception in the church hall.     HAFFNER, Ronald Kenneth

    Our husband and father was a wise man who touched the lives of many people and so it is with great sadness that we said good-bye on Wednesday, April 7, 1993, at K-W Hospital, Kitchener.

    He was born in Kitchener 58 years ago, a son of the late Milton and Luella (nee Montag) Haffner.
    Ronald was a member of the Holy Family RC Church, New Hamburg, where he was a member of the Council of Catholic Men and had been a former member of the Holy Family Separate school board. Ron had taken over his father's business, Haffner Motors Limited, New Hamburg and operated it until his death on Wednesday.


    Ron resided in New Hamburg with his beloved wife and best friend, the former Elsie Ruthig whom he married April 21, 1951. Dearest father of Judy and her husband Ron Becker of Waterloo, Debbie and her husband Keith Yantzi of Baden, Sandy and her husband Terry Broda, Ron Jr. and his wife Shelley, Randy and his wife Faith, Rick and his wife Karen, Kathy and her husband Dale Barton, Rob and his friend Leanne, all of New Hamburg. Cherished grandfather of Corey and Jared Becker, Heath, Ryan and Nick Broda, Jamie, Devin and Jordan Yantzi, Rory and Erin Haffner, Lucas and Kyle, Kara and Kasey Haffner, Lucas and Sophia Haffner, Mathew and Sydney Barton. We love you Candy Grandpa. He is lovingly remembered by his sisters, Margery Brown and her friend Al and Mildred Binkley and her friend Ken, all of Kitchener; brother-in-law, Joe Weber and his wife Neida of New Hamburg, mother-in-law, Isabella Ruthig of New Hamburg; sisters-in-law, Janet Miller and her friend Bert of Waterloo, Mim Miller and her husband Doug and brothers-in-law, Karl Ruthig and his wife Pat, Bob Ruthig and his wife Gwen and niece, Wendy Weber and her husband Dave, all of New Hamburg. Ron will be missed by many nieces and nephews.

    Haffner, Margery Marie

    Died peacefully on January 15, 2016 with her family at her side, just eleven days shy of her 81st birthday. A long-time resident of Kitchener, Margery spent the first half of her life in New Hamburg. Beloved daughter of the late Milton and Luella Haffner. Margery is predeceased by her siblings, Mildred Binkley, Shirley Weber and Ronald Haffner. Margery will be missed by sisters-in-law Elsie Haffner, Lois Hoffman (Gary) and many nieces and nephews.

    Along with former husband the late Howard Brown, Margery was the loving mother of Kevin Brown (Sheila), Tracey Brown (Ian Mann) and Tim Brown (Maria). Her children returned her love by supplying her with wonderful Grandchildren, Ashley, Ethan, Kirk, Adam and Steven who all loved spending time with their Grandma.

    In her later years Margery married Richard Phillips who is a kind gentle soul. Rick made her happy for the rest of her life. When her remaining year was beset by illness and affliction, Rick gave her love, caring and attention to ease her burden, something for which her family is grateful. Margery lived a good life and brought love and value to those around her. She will be sadly missed by those who loved her and respected by all who knew her.

    Margery's family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, January 17, 2016 from 3-5 and 7-9 pm and on Monday from 9:30 - 10:30 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener 519-749-8467. Parish prayers 8:45 pm on Sunday evening. Prayers will be offered in the funeral home at 10:50 am on Monday, January 18, 2016 followed by procession to St. Aloysius RC Church, 11 Traynor Avenue, Kitchener for a Funeral Mass at 11:30 am.

    Immediately after the funeral mass a reception will take place. Following the reception interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery in New Hamburg.

    As expressions of sympathy donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
