    Nafziger, Daniel, son of Nicholas and Mary (Steinman) Nafziger, was born in Perth Co., Ont. Aug. 10, 1888; died at Brunner Rest Home, Sept. 12, 1976; aged 88 y. On June 23, 1912, he was married to Nancy Erb, who preceded him in death on July 3, 1974. Surviving are 4 sons (Eimer, Emerson, Floyd, and Leonard), 5 daughters (Vera - Mrs. Harold Wismer, Edna - Mrs. Laverne Zehr, Betty - Mrs. Gerald Steffler, Dorothy - Mrs. Alvin Martin, and Erma - Mrs. Lyle Coverett), 34 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, one sister (Mary), and 4 brothers (Samuel, Amos, Solomon, and Menno). He was preceded in death by one son, one daughter, 3 brothers, and one sister. He was a member of Maple View Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held on Sept. 15, in charge of Alvin Leis and Jacob Roes; interment in adjoining cemetery.

    NAFZIGER, DANIEL - Of the Brunner Nursing Home, formerly of Wellesley. Passed away Sunday at his home. Born in Mornington Township, 88 years ago.

    A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Nafziger, he had farmed in Wilmot township, retiring to Wellesley in 1958. Member of the Maple View Mennonite Church. Father of Elmer of Waterloo, Emerson of Route 1, Tavistock, Floyd of Route 1, Breslau, Leonard of Conestogo, Vera (Mrs. Harold Wismer) of Wellesley, Edna (Mrs. Laverne Zehr) of Bright, Betty (Mrs. Gerald Steffler) and Dorothy (Mrs. Alvin Martin) both of Waterloo, Erma (Mrs. Lyle Coverett) of Tutinga, Cal.; dear brother of Samuel and Menno, both of Brunner, Amos of Wellesley, Solomon of Carthage, N.Y., and Mary Nafziger of Brunner; also survived by 34 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his wife, the former Nancy Erb, in 1974; also by one son, Vernon and one daughter, Alice; also by one brother and one sister.

    Friends may call at the Futher Bros Funeral Home, Wellesley where the family will receive friends this evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. At noon Wednesday, September 15, the remains will be removed to the Maple View Mennonite Church for the service at 2:30 Rev. Alvin Leis and Rev. Jacob Rose officiating. Interment will follow in the Maple View Mennonite Cemetery.

    Passed away on Sunday August 4, 2013 at her residence Nithview Community, New Hamburg. She was born 100 years ago in Mornington Township and was the daughter of the late Daniel & Nancy (Erb) Nafziger.

    Beloved wife of the late Harold Wismer who predeceased her in 1968. Loving mother of Eleanor & husband Gerald Roth of New Hamburg and Raymond & wife Sharon Wismer of Kitchener. Sadly missed by her grandchildren Duane & wife Nina Roth, Janice & husband Steve Steckly, Nancy & husband Nathan Roth, Michelle Wismer & friend Peter, Kim Wismer and her 12 great-grandchildren. Remembered by her brothers Floyd & wife Erma Nafziger, Leonard & wife Joyce Nafziger. Vera was predeceased by her son Melvin Wismer, granddaughter Lisa, son-in-law Lyle Schwartzentruber, sisters Edna & husband Laverne Zehr, Betty & husband Gerald Steffler, Dorothy & husband Alvin Martin, Erma & husband Lyle Coverett, Alice in infancy, brothers Emerson & wife Delphine Nafziger, Elmer & wife Ann Nafziger and Vernon & wife Elda Nafziger.
    Vera was a member of Steinmann Mennonite Church, Baden.

She had resided at Bright until moving to Tavistock in 1985 where she was a member of Tavistock Mennonite Church. Edna married Laverne Zehr at Baden on May 3, 1939. He predeceased her on August 9, 1970.     NAFZIGER, Emerson - Emerson Nafziger. of RR1, Tavistock, passed away in Woodstock General Hospital, on Friday, Jan. 7, 2005, his 86th birthday.

    He. was born in Wilmot township, Waterloo County on January 7, 1919 a son of the late Daniel Nafziger and the former Nancy Erb. He had worked for Canada Steamship Lines, was a cheesemaker at the Wellesley Cheese Factory prior to 1956 when he moved to his. farm in East Zorra township. Emerson was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Sebastopol and in his leisure time enjoyed bowling and playing games. .

    He is survived by his wife; the former Delphine Heinbuch, whom he married at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sebastopol on October 15, 1955; his daughter, Twyla Nafziger of Mississauga; two brothers, Floyd and wife Erma Nafziger of Kitchener, Leonard and wife Joyce Nafziger of Waterloo; three sisters, Vera Wismer of New Hamburg, Edna Zehr of Tavistock, Betty Steffler of Waterloo and many nieces and nephews.

    He was predeceased by two brothers, Elmer Nafziger and wife Ann, Vernon Nafziger and wife Elda; three sisters, Dorothy Martin, Erma Coverett and husband Lyle, Alice Nafziger (in infancy); brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Laverne Zehr, Gerald Stater, Harold Wismer, Delton and Lavele Bender.

    Relatives and friends will be received in the Francis Funeral Home, 77 Woodstock St. N., Tavistock, tonight (Saturday) from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in Trinity Lutheran Church, Sebastopol-Tavistock on Monday, Jan. 10, 2005 at 2 p.m. The Rev. Randy Liedtke will officiate. Interment in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.

    1923 - 2017 NAFZIGER, Erma (nee Lemp) 1927 - 2017

    At Marmora Caressant Care Nursing Home, Floyd, aged 94, passed peacefully, Wednesday morning, February 22. Son of the late Daniel and Nancy (Erb) Nafziger. Beloved husband of Erma (Lemp) Nafziger. It is also with great sadness to report Erma, aged 89, passed away Monday afternoon, February 27, 2017. Daughter of the late Wilfred and Clara (Wagner) Lemp. Floyd: Predeceased by his son Jeffery Nafziger and his brothers Emerson, Elmer, Vernon and by his sisters, Alice (in infancy), Erma Coverette, Dorothy Martin, Vera Wismer, Edna Zehr and Betty Steffler and will be missed by his dear brother, Leonard (Joyce) Nafziger. Erma: Predeceased by her son Jeffery, her brothers Hilbert, Eldon and Carl (Lemp) and sister Verda Lipskie and will be missed by her dear brother Alfred (Mary) Lemp and loving sisters Mildred Faulkner and Gertrude Kukor. Floyd and Erma were married just short of 65 years and were very proud to have raised such a large family of sons and daughters. They are survived by and dearly missed by the rest of their children: David, Larry (Debbie), Ross (Terese), Ralph (Toni), Thomas, Timothy (Dianne), Kathryn and Susan (Joe) Gerber. Also survived by ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to Tim and Dianne Nafziger, for the loving care they provided for their parents, over the past five years. By their wishes cremations will take place. Floyd and Erma's family and friends will be able to pay their respects, at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2017.

    STEFFLER, Elizabeth Marie "Betty" (nee Nafziger) Passed away with grace and dignity, surrounded by the love of her family. Sadly, yet with gratitude, we said our last goodbye to our beloved mother, grandmother and friend on July 20, 2010 at the age of 86. Predeceased by her husband Gerald Steffler (1983), her parents Daniel and Nancy Nafziger and by her infant sister Alice. Beloved mother of Diane Schumacher (Larry), Dennis Steffler, and Gary Steffler. Beloved grandmother of Andrea (John), Chad, Laura (Chris), Kendra (Vince) and Luke (Rochelle) and great-grandmother of Hayden. Dear sister to Vera Wismer (the late Harold), Edna Zehr (the late Laverne), Floyd (Erma) and Leonard (Joyce) and sister-in-law to Dorothy Steffler (the late Walter), Bernice Steffler (the late Clarence), Wilfred Steffler (the late Rita) and Donny Steffler (Margaret). Predeceased by brothers Elmer (Anne), Vernon (Elda), Emerson (Delphine), sisters Dorothy Martin, Erma Coverette (Lyle) and brothers-in-law Albert Steffler and Cyril Steffler. Betty spent many joy-filled years at her cottage at Lake Rosalind, where she was known for her beautiful gardens. She absolutely loved children and cherished her grandchildren. Betty was a lover of animals throughout her life, and was always present to give her help and support to those in need. She was an amazing cook and her kitchen was always filled with the aroma of her home cooking. Special thanks to the staff at Winston Park for their compassionate and loving care of our mother.     Passed away peacefully at Lisaard House, Cambridge on Wednesday April 9, 2014. Ray resided in Kitchener and was born 71 years ago in East Zorra Township. He was the son of the late Harold & Vera (Nafziger) Wismer.

    Beloved husband of Sharon (Taves) Wismer who he married July 23, 1966. Loving father of Michelle & husband Peter Lacrosse of Kitchener. Sadly missed by his step-grandson Declan. Dear brother of Eleanor Roth of New Hamburg. Remembered by his mother-in-law Verna Taves of Kitchener, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Betty Finnigan of Perth, Jerry & Marilyn Taves of Kitchener, John & Sue Taves of Cambridge, Len Taves of Kitchener and also a number of nieces and nephews. Ray was predeceased by his brother Melvin Wismer, father-in-law John Taves and brothers-in-law Gerald Roth and Don Finnigan.

    Ray was a member of Steinmann Mennonite Church, Baden. He enjoyed golfing with his good friends at Doon Valley and also many outdoor activities. Ray retired after 31 years of service with Lear Seating Ltd.

    Family and friends will be received at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg on Saturday April 12, 2014 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.. The funeral service will take place on Sunday April 13, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Steinmann Mennonite Church, Baden with Pastor Myrna Miller Dyck and Pastor Ilene Bergen officiating. Interment in the church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to Lisaard House, Cambridge, Steinmann Mennonite Church or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario.

    WISMER, Melvin (Shorty) Passed away suddenly as a result of a heart attack, on Monday, December 3, 2012 at Grand River Hospital, K-W Health Centre, Kitchener. Melvin resided in Kitchener and was formerly of New Hamburg. He was born 64 years ago in Stratford, Ontario. Dear son of Vera (Nafziger) Wismer of New Hamburg and the late Harold Wismer. Missed by his daughter Kimberly Wismer and proud grandfather to his seven grandchildren. Also remembered by his brother Raymond and wife Sharon Wismer of Kitchener, sister Eleanor and husband Gerald Roth of New Hamburg, nieces, nephews and many relatives and friends. Melvin was predeceased by a daughter Lisa in 2001 and brother-in-law Lyle. Mel retired from Lear Seating in Kitchener after over thirty years of service. He enjoyed playing sports in his youth and will be remembered for his sense of humour and ready smile. Cremation has taken place. A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2012 from 4-7 p.m. The funeral service will take place at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home on Friday, December 7, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Steve Drudge officiating.
