    Gingerich.-Daniel M. Gingerich was born in Baden, Ont., May 12, 1866; died at his home in Baden, Nov. 21, 1929. He was married to Veronica Lichti Jan. 19, 1888. He leaves his wife, 6 sons, and 5 daughters: David, Tillie, Henry, Mrs. Olive Cressman, Moses, Mrs. Rachel Widrich, Samuel, Nicholas, Mrs. Aaron Lehman, William, and Mrs. Aaron Moshier. He also leaves one brother (Jacob) and many other relatives and friends. He was a faithful member of the Steinman A. M. Church. Funeral services were held at the home by Chr. Schrag, and at the church by Daniel Jutzi, Peter Nafziger, and Daniel Steinman. Interment in adjoining cemetery.

    RITES FOR MOSES GINGERICH, PINE GROVE, TO BE TUESDAY

    Lowville, Oct. 10. Funeral for Moses Gingerich, 70, of Pine Grove, who died Saturday morning in Lewis County General hospital after an illness of three weeks, will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Conservative Mennonite church, Croghan, with Rev. Lloyd Boshart, pastor, officiating. A prayer service will be held at the family home at 1 p.m. Burial will be in the Conservative Mennonite church cemetery, Croghan.

    The body was removed from the Virkler funeral home to his home at Pine Grove where friends may call, Mr. Gingerich was born at
    Baden, Ont., Sept. 4, 1890, a son of Daniel and Fanney Lichti Gingerich. He came to the United States in 1924 and had lived in the Lowville area since then. He married Nettie Boshart, July 22, 1913 in Wilmott county, Ont.

    Besides his wife he is sur-vived by four daughters, Mrs. Elmer (Violet) Bass, Watertown; Mrs. Malcom (Rita) Western, Lowville Mrs. Haruld (Alice) Moshier, Beaver Falls, and Mrs. Richard (Frances) Burlingame, Castorland; four sons, Clifford, Constableville; Gordon, Lowville; Howard, Constableville, and Vernon, Carlsbad, N.M.; 25 grandchil- dren; five great grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Aron (Saviera) Lehman, Castorland; Mrs. Aron (Fanny) Mosher, Lowville; Mrs. Manas (Olive) Cress- man, Kitchener, Ont., and Miss Tilly Gingerich, also of Kitchener, and four brothers, David Gingerich of Batavia; Henry, of Ontario; William of Copenhagun, and Samuel of Croghan.

    Widrich. - Rachel, daughter of the late Daniel and Veronica (Lichtie) Gingerich, was born at St. Agatha, Ont., Canada, Oct. 23, 1893; died at the Lewis County General Hospital, Lowville, N. Y., March 28, 1942; aged 48 y. 5 m. 5 d. Her death was caused by a complication of diseases. She was sick two weeks and was in the hospital only two days. In her youth she accepted Christ as her personal Saviour, was baptized, and became a member of the Amish Mennonite Church, to which she remained faithful until the end. She was united in marriage to Joel E. Widrich of Lowville, N. Y., on Dec. 29, 1920. To this union were born 4 daughters and 2 sons. She is survived by her husband, 4 daughters (Fannie, Mrs. Lyndaker; Savilla, Barbara, and Arlene), 2 sons (Arthur and John, all at home), 1 stepson (Loyd, of Castorland, N. Y.), 1 grandchild; 6 brothers (Moses and Samuel, of New Bremen; David, of Alden, N. Y.; Nicholas, of Harrisburg, N. Y.; Henry, of Baden, Canada ; and William, of Copenhagen, N. Y.), 4 sisters (Tillie Gingerich and (Olive) Mrs. Manasseh Cressman, of Petersburg, Canada ; (Savilla) Mrs. Aaron Lehman, Castorland, N. Y.; and (Fannie) Mrs. Aaron Moshier, of Lowville). She was preceded in death by her father, mother, and 1 stepson. Funeral services were conducted at the home by Bro. Allen Gingerich, with further services at the Amish Mennonite Church, Croghan, N. Y., in charge of Bros. C. Nafsiger and Joseph Zehr. Interment in adjoining cemetery.

    LOWVILLE - Samuel Gingerich, 81, Croghan. R.D., retired farmer, died Friday afternoon at 5: 40 in the Lewis County General Hospital where he had been a patient since Aug. 18. He had been in failing health several years. The funeral will be Monday afternoon at 1 at his home and at 1: 30 in the Conservative Mennonite Church, Croghan with Rev. Richard Zehr, pastor officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
    Calling hours at his home will be at the callers convenience. The Virkler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Contributions may be made to the Croghan Conservative Mennonite Church Library Fund in care of Mrs. James Martin, Croghan, or to the Heart Fund. Mr. Gingerich is survived by a son. Beryl, Lowville, R.D.3; two daughters, Mrs. Sherwood (Joan) Zehr, Carthage, R.D. 2, and Mrs. Kenneth (Lila) Widrick, Croghan, R.D.I; two brothers, David, East Aurora, and Henry, New Hamburg, Ontario, Canada; three sisters, Mrs. Olive Cressman, Kitchener, Ont., Mrs. Saviera Lehman, Castorland, and Mrs. Fannie Moshier, Lititz, Pa.; 20 grandchildren and seven greatgrandchildren. Two sisters and three brothers died before him. Mr. Gingerich was born at Baden, Ont., June 13, 1895, son of Daniel and Fannie Lichti and came to the United States in 1914. In 1921 he married Barbara Lehman who died April 13, 1924. He married Melinda Martin in 1928. Mr. Gingerich purchased a farm on the Schnell road which he operated from 1923 to 1946 and then purchased the farm at Croghan which he operated until his retirement in 1960. He and his wife resided in a home adjacent to the farm. Mr. Gingerich was a member of the Croghan Conservative Mennonite Church.

    Gingerich, Samuel, son of Daniel and Veronica (Lichti) Gingerich, was born in Baden, Ont., June 13, 1895; died at Lewis County General Hospital, Sept. 3, 1976; aged 81 y. On July 27, 1921, he was married to Barbara May Lehman, who preceded him in death on Apr. 13, 1924. On Sept, 7, 1926, he was married to Malinda Ellen Martin, who survives. Also surviving are 8 children (Beryl, Joan - Mrs. Sherwood Zehr, Lila - Mrs. Kenneth Widrick, David, Henry, Mrs. Olive Cressman, Mrs. Savieva Lehman, Mrs. Fannie Moshier), 20 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. He was a member of Croghan Conservative Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held in charge of Richard Zehr; interment in church cemetery.

Y., of a coronary thrombosis, aged 62 y. 2 m.1 d. He was married to Dorothy Moser, Nov. 4, 1926. In addition to his wife, he leaves a son (James, Rochester, N. Y.), a daughter (Marie-Mrs. Howard M. Snider, Edmonton, Alta.), one granddaughter, 5 brothers and 4 sisters (David, East Aurora, N. Y.; Samuel, Croghan, N. Y.; Mrs. Saviera Lehman, Castorland, N. Y.; Tillie and Henry, New Hamburg, Ont.; Olive-Mrs. Manasseh Cressman, Kitchener, Ont.; Moses, William, and Fannie-Mrs. Aaron Moshier of Lowville). An active worker in the Conservative Mennonite Church since his conversion in 1942, he began and for several years led the work at Pine Grove, N. Y. According to the request of the deceased, his son-in-law, Howard M. Snider of Edmonton, Alta., preached the funeral sermon. The service was held at the Croghan Conservative Mennonite Church; burial in the adjoining cemetery.

    Simon Gingerich, Sr., 54. died Sabunday morning at his Harrisburg farm after suffering heart attack.

    Mr. Gingerich was born March 5. 1904 at Baden, Ont.. the son of Jacob and Lydia Lehman Gingerich He married Adeline Mayer on October 3, 1928 in A ceremony performed by Rev. Christian Nafziger, a Conservative Mennonite minister of the Harrisburg area.

    Mr. Gingerich owned and operated the Gingerich family farm at Harrisburg.

    He was a member of the Conservative Mennonite church of Croghan.

    Surviving are his wife, a son, Sumon Jr. of Lowville, three daughters Mrs. Clifford (Geraldine) Zehr, Copenhagen, Mrs. Wilbur (Mary Ellen) Roggie, Carthage and Miss Katherine Gingerich, at home; his mother, Mrs. Lydia Lehman Gingerich; two brothers Andrew of Manneville and Harvey of Lowville: three sisters Mrs. Eli (Vera) Erb, Mrs. Levi (Esther) Schrag and Mrs. Irene Moshier, all of Lowville, and eleven grandchildren.

    A prayer service was held at the family home Monday 12:30 pm. The funeral followed at 1:30 pm at the Croghan Conservative Mennonite church, with Rev Lloyd Boahart, pastor officiating. Burial will be made in the church cemetery.

    Gingerich, -- Allen, son of Jacob and Lydia (Lehman) Gingerich, was born at Bade, Ont., July 16, 1909; died suddenly at his home near Castoland, N. Y., Jan. 22, 1951; aged 41 y. 6 m. 6 d. In his youth he accepted Christ as his Saviour and on Nov. 20, 1938, a few months after his marriage he was ordained to the ministry and was faithful in the service of his Lord. On June 14, 1938, he was married to Marian Zehr, who mourns the loss of a kind and helpful companion. Four children were born to this union. One son died at birth. Surviving are three children (Emanuel, Eunice, and John Mark), 3 brothers (Simon and Harvey, Lowville, N. Y.), 3 sisters (Vera-Mrs. Eli Erb, Esther-Mrs. Levi Shrag; and Irene-Mrs. Norma Moshier), his mother (Mrs. Lydia Gingerich), and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. He passed away in his sleep of coronary thrombosis. Funeral services were held on Jan. 25, at the home by Elias Zehr and at the Dadville Church by Lloyd Boshart, who read II Pet. 1. The sermon was preached by Emanuel Swartendruber, Pigeon, Mich. Text: Amos 4: 12. Interment in the Croghan Cemetery.

    Mrs. Violet Bast Dead


    BLACK RIVER-Mrs. Violet Gingerich Bast, 55, Black River, R. D. 1, widow of Elmer Bast, died Sunday morning in St. Joseph's hospital, Syracuse, where she had un dergone open heart surgery Wednesday.3 1968

    Long in poor health with asthma. the heart surgery had been planned, even before the death of her husband on Sept. He died unexpectedly at the age of 59, of a coronary aftack suffered while unloading grain from a truck on his farm. Local residents had responded to a call for B positive blood for Mrs. Bast's operation.

    Friends may call at the Virkler funeral home. Lowville, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9: pm today.

    OWVILLE - Gordon Gingerich, 94, Dowling Park, Fla., formerly of Division Street, died Saturday morning, January 9 at his extended care residence.

    Born on February 22, 1921, in Baden, Ont., son of the late Moses and Nettie Boshart Gingerich. He attended schools in New Bremen, West Martinsburg, and Lowville School and Free Academy.

    He married Loretta Zehr on June 3, 1945 in the First Mennonite Church of New Bremen.

    Gordon worked for Crown Zellerbach as an electrician for 11 years. He opened his own business, Lowville Electric, until 1973. He was an electrical inspector until 1978. He and Loretta moved to Bradenton, Florida in 1980. He operated his own electrical business, Heritage Electric, for 10 years. He was a member of the Copenhagen and then the Lowville Rural Fire Department for many years. He enjoyed spending time at Chase Lake where he had built two camps. He also enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing with his family.

    Surviving are his wife; a daughter; two sons. Gordon was also survived by his grandchildren; also great-grandchildren.

    He was pre-deceased by his wife Loretta; brothers Clifford, Howard, Vernon and his sisters Violet Bast, Rita Western, Alice Moshier, and Frances Burlingame. A grandson, Zachary Komorowski, also died before him.

    A memorial service will be held in Florida at Beulah Baptist Church.

    There will be a service with burial in West Lowville, in late August, for family and friends.
