    WELLESLEY - John W. Lotz, 67, of RR 2, Wellesley, died suddenly Sunday at the home of his son, Walter, RR 2, Wellesley.

    Born in Wilmot Township Oct. 29, 1894, Mr. Lotz lived in Wellesley Township for the past 24 years. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Wellesley. His wife, the former Rosa Gulck, died in 1956.

    Surviving are six sons, John of Kitchener, Walter, Herbert of Wellesley, William of St. Clements, Clayton of Kitchener, and Duncan of New Hamburg; three daughters, Mrs. Henry (Frances) Kavelman of New Hamburg, Mrs. Walter (Margaret) Kneisel, RR 2, Wellesley, and Mrs. Edgar (Olivia) Rose of RR 1, Gadshill, 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A son, Lloyd, was killed during the Second World war.

    The body will be at the Futher Funeral Home, Wellesley, until Wednesday noon when removal will be made n St. Mark's Church for the funeral at 2 pm, Rev. Elmer Oleson will officiate. Burial will be n St. Mark's cemetery, Wellesley.

    Son of the late John W. Lotz and the late Rosa Giilck; a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Wellesley. He served with the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps and served overseas. Also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 532.

    Dear brother of Walter and Clayton, both of Route 2, Wellesley, Herb of Wellesley, William of St. Clements and Margaret (Mrs. Walter Kneisel) of Route 2, Wellesley and Olivia (Mrs. Edgar Rose) of Route 1, Gads Hill. Also predeceased by two brothers and one sister.

    Visitation at the Futher Bros. Funeral Home, Wellesley. The family will receive friends this evening, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. At noon Thursday, Feb. 21, the remains will be removed to St. Mark's Lutheran Church, for the service at 2:30, Rev. Orval Jansen officiating. Spring interment in St. Mark's cemetery, Wellesley.

    He was a son of the late John W. Lotz and the former Rosa Giilck. A faithful member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church and was employed at Sunar Hauserman, Waterloo, retiring in 1985.

    Beloved husband of Marilyn Jean (Uhrig) Lotz of Waterloo; loving father of John and his wife Yvonne Lotz of Goderich and Linda Jeanne Lotz of Kitchener. Dear brother of Herb and his wife Clara of Waterloo, William and his wife Dorothy of St. Clements, Clayton and his wife Doris of RR 2, Wellesley, Margaret (Mrs. Walter Kneisel) of Shakespeare, Olivia (Mrs. Edgar Rose) of RR 1, Gads Hill. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Stephanie and Daryl Lotz.

    Predeceased by three brothers, John, Lloyd and Duncan and one sister, Mrs. Frances Kavelman.

    Visitation at the Futher Bros. Funeral Home, 40 Henry St., Wellesley, where the family will receive their friends today (Monday) 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. At noon Tuesday, July 10, removal will be made to St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, for the service at 2:30, Pastor Wilmer Minke and Intern James Brown will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Mark's Lutheran cemetery, Wellesley.

She was born 65 years ago in Wellesley township, a daughter of Henry Kavelman of New Hamburg and the late Francis (Lotz) Kavelman. Marianne was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, New Hamburg. Loving wife of Fred Leu, whom she married June 17, 1961. Dear mother of Barbara and her husband Greg Steeves of Cooksville, Tenn., Carl Leu, and Robert and his wife Heather Leu, all of Baden. Sadly missed by her ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also remembered by brothers, Earl and his wife Adele Kavelman of Clifford, Roy and his wife Marie Kavelman of Kitchener; brothers-in-law, Ken and his wife Lynn Leu of Manitoulin Island, James Leu of Mass., and by a number of nieces and nephews. Marianne was predeceased by two sons, Edward (1979) and James (1984) as well as by a sister in infancy and her step-mother, Mildred Kavelman. Friends and relatives may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home , 291 Huron St., New Hamburg on Sunday October 21, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. On Monday October 22nd, 2007 transfer will be made to Trinity Lutheran Church for the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Andre Lavergne and Rev. Anne Anderson officiating. Burial to follow in Riverside Cemetery, New Hamburg. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or Canadian Diabetes Association.
