    PHILLIPSBURG Funeral service for Theodore C. Doering, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church, Phillipsburg. Mr. Doering died Wednesday at Kitchener-Waterloo Hospital following a lingering illness. He was 83.

    He was born at Phillipsburg and farmed there all his life. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, a former Sunday School superintendent, and a church councillor.

    He was the last surviving member of the family of the late Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Doering. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Johanna Kraehling.

    Surviving are two sons, Wesley of RR 5, Embro, and Armand of Phillipsburg; three daughters, Mrs, William (Idella) Wettlaufer of RR 1. New Hamburg, Mrs. Erma Seip of Stratford, and Mrs. Harvey (Marie) Kneisel, RR 1, Wellesley; nine grandchildren and six great grandebildren. He was predeceased by one daughter. The body is at the Bruce J. Omand Funeral Home, New Hamburg. Rev. Ernest Felker of the church will conduct the funeral service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

    THEODORE DOERING

    Theodore C. Doering of Phillipsburg died last Wednesday at Kitchener-Waterloo Hospital, following a lengthy Illness. He was 83.

    He was born at Phillipsburg and farmed there all his life. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, a former Sunday School superintendent and a church councillor.

    He was the last surviving member of the family of the late Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Doering. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Johanna Kraehling.

    Surviving are two sons, Wesley of RR5, Embro, and Armand of Phillips burg; three daughters, Mrs. William (Idella) Wettlaufer of RR 1, New Hamburg, Mrs. Erma Seip of Stratford, and Mrs. Harvey (Marie) Kneisel, RR 1, Wellesley; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

    He was predeceased by one daughter.

    The funeral service was held Saturday afternoon at Zion Lutheran Church, Phillipsburg, with Rev. E. A. Felker officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

    Theodore married Johanna Marie Kraehling 28 Oct 1908, Philipsburg, Wilmot Twp., Waterloo Region, Ontario, Canada.     WETTLAUFER, Idella Catherine Passed away peacefully, on Sunday, June 29, 2003, at Nithview Home, New Hamburg, where she had resided for the past eight years. Idella was formerly of RR 1, New Hamburg.

    She was born in Wilmot Township, 93 years ago, a daughter of the late Theodore C. and Johanna (Kraehling) Doering. Idella was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Philipsburg where she had been a member of the ELW. She was also a life member of the New Hamburg Women's Institute, a charter member of the Wilmot Horticultural Society, a member of the Waterloo Lutheran Seminary Auxiliary and a member of Especially for Seniors, Baden. Idella had been a correspondent to the New Hamburg Independent for the Burnside School section and loved gardening, quilting and sewing comforters for Relief work.

    Beloved wife of the late William A. (Bill) Wettlaufer who predeceased her May 8, 1983. Loving mother of Shirley and her husband Stuart Honderich of Baden and Jean and her husband Ernie Faulhafer of RR 1, New Hamburg; dear grandmother of Cathy and John Young and their daughter Hannah of Camlachie, Susan and Gordon Mills of New Hamburg, Chris Faulhafer of New Hamburg and his friend Shelly Cook and Sara Faulhafer of Halifax, N.S. Lovingly remembered by sisters, Marie and Harvey Kneisel of RR 1, Wellesley and Erma Seip of Stratford; by sister-in-law, Minerva Doering of Tavistock and by a number of nieces and nephews. Idella was predeceased by brothers, Wesley and Armand; by sister, Mildred and Lloyd Neeb and by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Reuben and Irene Wettlaufer and Edna and Edwin Doering.

    Friends and relatives may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St... New Hamburg, today (Wednesday) from 7-9 p.m. and again Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. On Friday, July 4, 2003 at noon, transfer will be made to Zion Lutheran Church, Philipsburg for the funeral service at 2:30 p.m., with Rev. Riehard Brown officiating. Burial to follow in the adjoining cemetery.
