Ottawa, July 27 Mrs. Elizabeth Becker died here yesterday at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Harry J. Hutchinson. Death followed an illness of five months.

She was born in North Easthope, and attended St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church.

The deceased was the daughter of the late Conrad Wettlaufer and the former Margaret Fowler [sic].
Her husband, the late John Becker, predeceased her July 1, 1939.

There are three sons, Roy of San Pedro, Calif., Arthur of Toronto and Raymond of Welland, and two daughters, Mrs. Harry J. Hutchinson of Ottawa and Mrs. P.S. Elsasser of Oceanside, Long Island, N.Y.

She was the last survivor of the family.

There will be a public funeral service tomorrow at the Schreiter Sandrock funeral home at 3 p.m. Burial will be at Woodland Cemetery.
The body will be resting at the funeral home from 10 p.m. Wednesday until the funeral.

Henry Hoerle Jr. - A prominent and highly esteemed farmer of the Philipsburg district passed away early yesterday morning, October 20^th, 1932 at his home near Wilby in the person of Henry Hoerle Jr. at the age of 51 years, 11 months and 9 days. He had been in poor health for several months, but was only confined to bed for the past three weeks . The news of his death was received with deep regret by a large circle of relatives and friends. The deceased was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hoerle Sr., and was born on the farm where he spent his whole life and passed away. The deceased was a valued member of Zion Lutheran Church at Philipsburg. The deceased was married to Miss Elizabeth Schmidt, of North Easthope who with a family of three sons and two daughters, Elmore, Reinhardt, Roy, Minnie and Verna, all at home, to mourn his demise. He also leaves his parents, one brother, Mr. Nelson Hoerle, Philipsburg, and one sister, Mrs. Henry W. Doering, of North Easthope.

The funeral will take place on Monday next at 1: 30 o'clock p.m. to the Philipsburg Lutheran Church and Cemetery. Rev. Mr. Kirchhofer will have charge of the service.

Nelson Hoerle, 78, a lifelong resident of the Philipsburg district died at his home last Thursday afternoon. He was born near Philipsburg May 2, 1884, a son of the late Henry Hoerle Sr. and his wife Catherine Wettlaufer. He farmed in the area, retiring in 1943 when he moved to the village. His wife, the former Alma Heipel, died eight years ago. Surviving are two sons, Edgar, New Hamburg, and Weybourne of Philipsburg; four daughters, Mrs. Reuben (Irene) Wettlaufer, Mrs. Clarence (Martha) Wegford and Mrs. Isobel Rittinger, all of Philipsburg and Mrs. George (Charlotte) Wegfahrt, Baden. One sister, Mrs. Emma Doering, Tavistock, and 15 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. One brother and one sister predeceased him. The body rested at the Futher-Omand Funeral Home, New Hamburg, until Monday noon, when removal was made to Zion Lutheran Church, Philipsburg, of which he was a member, for a memorial service at 2: 30 p.m. which was conducted by Rev. Norman A. Keffer of New Hamburg. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Lovingly remembered by 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Herbert Mohr, October 25, 1981; a daughter, Shirley; one brother and three sisters.

Born in Philipsburg, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hoerle and had lived here all his life. He had been custodian at the Waterloo-Oxford district secondary school.

Loving mother of Carol Wagler of Waterloo and Paul and his wife Darlene Wegford of New Hamburg; dear grandmother of Trevor and Wendy Wagler, Ian Wagler, Laurel Wagler and Christopher and Jason Wegford. Also remembered by son-in-law, Harvey Wagler of Waterloo. HOERLE, Weybourne Theodore (Web) - Of R.R. 2, Baden, died peacefully, on Thursday, July 23, 1998, at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, Kitchener, with family members at his side. He was 79.

Born and raised in Philipsburg, Weybourne was a son of the late Nelson and Alma (Heipel) Hoerle. He farmed on the Hoerle family farm in Philipsburg for 39 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Philipsburg. Weybourne loved the outdoors and leaves in each of children a deep respect for nature and its marvels. He loved to laugh, tell stories and will be remembered for his great sense of humor.

Beloved husband of the former Esther Marie Berg whom he married February 15, 1941. Dear father of Murray and his wife Helen of R.R. 2, Baden, Dianne and her husband Paul Cress of Ottawa, Sandra and her husband Robert Good of Waterloo and Brenda Hoerle and her husband Terry Dale of Waterloo. Loving grandfather of Troy, Jason and Marta Hoerle, Tracey Cress, Jackie and Laurie Good, and Nathaniel, Caleb and Olivia Dale. Verna cared deeply for her husband and family. She was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. Verna and Herbert farmed for 40 years in North Easthope Township. Her passions included gardening, ballroom dancing and cooking. Verna was a role model for all.
